Good morning all. Just wasting some time before I need to go out and do some errands. DH washed and waxed my car Sunday, I am under orders to not drive in the rain!

Renee, I can't believe the MARK UP on the excursions! I don't blame you for deciding to do them on your own. The cliff diver ones seem a lot more reasonable that way, too.

I am impressed with the efficiency of some of you. 3 people have already sent in thier lanyard payments!

Remember last week when Tracy and I were cryptically posting to each other? Well it started when she PM'd me asking for my snail mail addy. She told me not to ask questions just give it to her. Painful as it was (for me not to ask) I gave it to her. She replied I would find out why next week. I then *had* to PM back to ask early or late next week to which she replied on the thread "Early". This is what sent kmiles into a tizzy.

On Saturday my family & I ran errands in the a.m. and then I took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon (I've been suffering from bronchitis). That night I was in the chat room and Tracy asked if I had any more questions, ha ha! I stepped away from chat because the girls needed something and while upstairs, I asked David if he had gotten the mail. He said no, so I went to go get it. I opened the front door and "THUNK!" this large heavy envelope falls from being propped by the mailman between the screen door and the front door. I looked at the return address and it was from Tracy and Bill Whipple.

Of course a big smile came across my face because I then knew this was the "early next week" surprise. It came earlier than early!! Tracy and I live only 2-1/2 hours from each other so it got here the day after she mailed it.

It was addressed to Megan and Emma so I took it to them, explained who Tracy & Bill are and they opened it. They just love it!! Megan is learning to read so she couldn't wait to look at it. I explained how we would have a Pirate Night on the cruise; Megan looked at me and said ARRRRRGH!!

I went back to chat but I didn't want to post anything in the chat room about receiving it so I just picked up the phone and thanked Tracy personally!! She said she had sent it to others also and that they wouldn't have gotten it as quickly as me because I live closest to her. So that it why I waited until now to post anything about receiving it - I wanted others to be surprised, too!

Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH Tracy and Bill for thinking of Megan & Emma and making them feel special!! The book has helped them get even more excited for the cruise!! It was so nice of you to do something like this. You two are truly special people!

I truly found the connect the dots on Miss July interesting. It will provide hours of entertainment awaiting the cruise.

I just got this email from a friend of mine and wanted to share it with everyone. I just tried it and found my parent's information so this is legit. Mine wasn't there since we have an unlisted number. This is pretty scary.

Google has implemented a new feature wherein you can type a telephone
number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be given the person's name and address. If you then hit MapQuest, you will get a map to the person's house. Everyone should be aware of this!

Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked.

Before forwarding this, it was tested by typing a telephone number into google.com. The phone number came up, and there is a MapQuest link and Yahoo maps link that actually maps out directions to the residence. Quite scary. Test it if you like.

If a child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious and alarming.

In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to: http://www.google.com/ Type your phone number in the search bar (i.e., 555-555-1212) and hit enter. If you want to B L O C K Google from divulging your private information, simply click on your telephone number and then click on the Removal Form. Removal takes 48-hours. If you are unlisted in the phone book, your number may not be in there, but it is a good idea just to check. If your number does come up, if you hit map, it will show you a direct map to your house. Please share this information with your students, friends and family.

This is why my parents don't have their address listed in the phone book....

This is why my phone number is unlisted ... and why I tell my daughter to NOT give out our number too readily (in case the day comes that you can get address info on the internet from unlisted phone numbers).

For those who aren't aware........ the web site switchboard.com has the same functionality and I don't know of any way to block your number. It appears that any listed phone number will show up, along with the option to get a map to the address. It looks like the only positive way to not show up in these services is to have a non-published number.

Found some cute straw summer bags on ebay, felt like summer shopping.

I bought this one in both colors 7.99

and thought this line was kind of cute 6.99 and they have others like it - might be nice for teens.
