Sending a "Happy Sunday" to you all!

Our ds returned home yesterday & he had a great trip to Florida. The noise level in our home has increased again, but we are very glad to have our fun-loving son home. :)

Val, thank you for the wonderful maps! Brian, the kids, and I enjoy these so much, especially everytime you update them. Beautiful!!!

Mel, hope you had fun with you family yesterday! Please send me a photo of your nephew - infants are so darned cute at 3 months. Bet he is cooing away. BTW, those LooneyHOODs need to be serving us, LOL! Have fun at your bridal shower today!

Hope everyone else is healthy and well! Enjoy the pretty day across our homelands. It is sunny and a bit windy here today.

Brian and I are helping our kids finish up their school projects - a 4th grade mission project and a middle school science project. Both are due tomorrow. Each needs parental guidance of course, lol! They are turning out to be treasures!

Take care all!

Just looking at the MLB schedule and Thursday and Friday nights before the cruise the Angels are playing the Boston Red Sox!!!!!!
Think we've figured out what we'll be doing Thursday night now :)

Going to the Ball game :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Tnanks for the tip Grumbo - Allan's just booked for the Friday night - and it's ridiculously cheap compared to going to a Premier League football match over in England. This gives us continuity from our last family holiday in the US last year - we were in Boston on the night the Sox won the world series - quite a party!

Cheers

Spring is definitely here. :)
I went out this morning, broke the ice off of the pool cover, and fit it back on. I got the all season tires out of the shed, loaded them in the van, and dropped it off at COSTCO, where they're taking the snow tires off, and will be done around noon.
We'll be raking and pillaging the lawn and garden today. There is still about 2 - 3" of ice in the pool, but the snow is all gone except for some spots that are in the shade....
Wow I love this time of year :) :)
I am beginning to realize how much Winter really sucks!!!

Cheers,
Grumbo

Oh Great! We will probably get snow tomorrow since you took the tires off!

Thanks a lot! Have been enjoying this great weather!

Sorry Val that you are still getting that other Stuff!

Blame Grumbo! He took his snow tires off!

Can someone please help me get caught up here?

I've reading some of the past few pages and see you are planning a wine tasting party. My question is, wasn't there a wine party being sponsored by DU for this cruise???
Why are you paying a corking fee? Where are you planning on having your wine tasting party? Will DCL be going through our bags looking for corkscrew and other sharp objects? just wondering!
Can't you use deck 7 opened air area on the back of the ship, grab your own glass at a bar and some chicken strips from Pluto's or do cheese plates from room service and save that corkage fee. We always bring a collapsible cooler with us, our room host keep us in ice, you are welcome to use that to keep you wine cool during your wine tasting party should you decided to do it the cheaper way.

Also any info about a shuttle going to the port from the Holiday Inn at San Pedro? Should I call Judy for this?

Thanks for any help here.
Ginger
Going to start my big (20lb)weight tomorrow. I want to look good in my new thong :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Ginger, the details of the wine tasting are being looked at again. Originally, DCL said they would not charge a corkage fee, but last week there was some concern with a different cast member that there would be a charge. DU is paying for the food. There are WAY too many people signed up for this affair to do it on the Deck 7 verandah. Our wine coniseur (sp?) winotracy will post the answer re: corkscrews and fees when she has the final answer from DCL. DCL has also said that should a bunch of people bring room service trays to the tasting, they would charge the organizer for the food, which she isn't about to pay!

As far as bag search, who knows what the security in LA will look for. But I am sure Tracy will find that out, too, as far as cork screws.

The bus from HISP to the port is supposed to be arranged by the TA and the fee is $3.00 p/p plus tip, at least that was the last word I had. I am sure that our TA will update us when we get closer to our check in dates.

Sorry I missed chat again. DH turned Van Helsing on and as stupis as it was, I watched the whole thing. I just kept thinking "James Bond" meets "Young Frankenstein" and "Dead and Loving It" through out. It really was dumb, and I guess I was dumber to watch the whole thing! At least it was free.

Spring in Colorado! Gotta love April!

Val, I remember when I lived in Golden we had snow on the ground until the end of May one year! DH, Max, and I went for a drive today, most all the snow was gone except in the shady spots. But the lakes are still frozen over. How I long for the heat.

Marsha, thanks for the explanation to Ginger.

No snow or ice here :cool1:

Sat outside with tube top on and got some sun today in 78F weather! I think I may have gotten too much! Oh well, at this time of year, I need it!

Barbara--
I remember when we lived in Cali. doing my 4th grade mission project (I did Mission Sonoma --I think that's the name). And then in 5th grade my state project was Missouri! Wow--that was about 20 years ago!!

(*** I gave Sandy (jiminyC_fan) the title "Fearless Sister Mentor" as she is always rooting us all for our sisterhood health and is doing great as a role model to we sisters! Way to go Sandy!!!)

Thanks so much Barbara. You made me feel very special and I appreciate that. I proudly accept my title.

Talk about SNOW!!! We are getting it and tons of it today. Cold and blowing snow. Yesterday we woke up to beautiful blue skies and in the 60's. Today is completely different.

Marsha, my husband grew up in Golden. They lived where the Hall of Justice is now and moved to Lookout Mtn in grade school. I worked at the District Court and the District Attorney's office there. Ahhh, the days before my twins some 25 years ago.

Val, I have a SIL in Thornton. We live in unincorporated JeffCo. with a Littleton mailing address. We are just a few blocks from Columbine.

Val,
Looks like my spring photo from a couple of weeks ago. The only bright side is that spring snow doesn't stay around too long.

Paul

yes, thank you Marsha for the answers.
BTW got my email and will be sending you the $$ ASAP.

Spring is in full bloom here this weekend, all the pear and cherry trees in full flower. The spring bulbs are up and blooming. It really is stunning, so of course the weekend was spent raking and weeding, but what a joy to be outside in the sunshine.

I was looking into plastic holders and clips so I can keep my KTTW on the lanyard. I have found a company that sell them in lots of 100. Looks like the holder and clip together would cost about 0.25 each. Is anyone else interested?

Oh well guess I can't put it off any longer, time to do my legal ethics homework :guilty:

Grumbo -- are you a Red Sox fan or an Angels fan? I am a HUGE Red Sox fan -- never got them out of my blood even when I moved from RI to NJ. In fact, there is a big DisMeet in Allentown, PA in July and I just found out there is a bus trip from our town to Baltimore the same day to see the Red Sox! Darn -- so many events and only one of me. Thanks for the tip though about Anaheim -- that would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Red Sox fan.

Actually a Blue Jay's Fan :)
However the big thing is having an opportunity to see another city's ball diamond, and soak in the atmosphere. We've done Cleveland, Toronto, Spring training, Baltimore and this would be neat :)

Grumbo

Help!!! I'm stuck in a chat room full of men! We need some women in there! Come save me!!!

Hi all Fools!! Got home this afternoon Spring was here. For the next few days it will be that cold yucky spring stuff.
DH and I had a wonderful week in North Carolina and Virginia. Drove the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline Drive. Blue Ridge was mostly in mist and rain and FOG. Had trouble seeing the double yellow lines in the road. Had to go very slowly. And the Skyline was lovely, sunny and warm. The deer are fascinating. Driving along minding own business, come around curve and there are anywhere from 3 to 6 deer standing on the side of the road. They accept donations to let you take their pictures. Little cups tied around their necks. They use the money to pay for the Bambi Cruises they take in the winter. Actually they are quite tame because they are in the park and no one comes after them with firearms.
Have some pictures I hope to post on the other site for the spring photo contest if it is still going on.
And of course have pages of posts to read. By the way Ginger, Phil and I will be at the meet in July, we are probably even closer than Melinda. Looking forward to it.
Must go and get at least one load of laundry started.

Correct.

The hotel doesn't want names of who needs transportation to the terminal this early ... they don't want it before Aug 1st ... so Janis will ask for emails with names of who'll need transfer from HISP to the terminal after Aug 1st
