I don't blame you Grumbo!!! you never know what could happened to your deposit....

I know that my DH and my DS would love to do ATV!! I have to look into it an see if my DS can go on it...Hopefully he will pass the minimal requirement.

BTW, i don't see the ATV under DCL..Did i missed it?? :confused3

Hi Fools. I've just caught up with about 25 pages of posts. Phew, even though it was Easter, you seem to have been doing a lot of communicating. My very best wishes to all who are/have been ill, having surgery, new members, etc.

It is 20 weeks today to the start of our August holiday. DD and I have been watching a TV programme this afternoon about life on a cruise ship and we were both emotional!

Great to be back amongst you all. Take care and have a good evening. Allan and I are out dancing again tonight. I have some new dancing shoes I can't wait to try. It doesn't take much to keep me happy!!!

What is the date we can begin to make Excursion reservations with Disney?
Is it 90 days out now? I know the cruise has to be fully paid.
I'm just about to give up on these ATV rentals in Cabo San Lucas. They want $100 deposit, but do NOT want to do it via credit card, as they say they can't charge in advance, but want me to wire them the money. I haven't wired money in probably 30 + years, plus I have no recourse if there are any problems down the road. I'll keep trying this week, but am starting to feel that I'll just go with DCL, pay the little bit extra and use their excursions.

Cheers,
Grumbo

The date for booking is May 22 as long as cruise is paid in full. I can understand your feeling, particularly dealing with third-party groups in Mexico! I wouldn't be wiring them money either!!!! I'm sticking with DCL in Cabo, but haven't decided what to do in Acapulco yet.

Does anyone know about CICI Water park in Acapulco???

thought it would be fun to bring kids there...for the day...

and then see Cliff divers at night....

Just an FYI,

I emailed them a while back to find out about the age limit since you know who never really did answer that question.

Still have not heard back from them so I would be afraid to give them anything in advance!

DCL may be more but if anything happens they will help!

In the end, we were unable to resist the lure of the extra day in the parks! Flight plans home have changed from Sunday to Monday on Air Canada. Cost increase of $80 per person, but we don't know when we'll be heading to FL again. You were right, Janet - "Ship of Fools Sisterhood will continue onto Toronto!"

I only noticed last night that the 12:15 departure has changed to 1:30 pm :cheer2: Flight lands at 4:15 pm - just enough time to get home, order a pizza, and get Lara to bed for school the next morning.

Me ... I may just have to take ANOTHER day off to catch up the laundry and things! :rotfl:

Arlene

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

That's Great News ~ Tanya and Lara can keep each other busy during the flight!

We will be at the VWL so if you want to bring the stuff over after the parks are closed, the machine can do the laundry whilst you and I sit on the balcony!

Think about it!

I have a great thread re Acapulco and what is good, bad and indifferent on my home computer. I have it bookmarked. I'll post it tonight. There are a number of references to the CICI water park in it.

As for passenger its not a problem Janet.
The driving is the problem..
Their quote was.........................................

Your daughter will have the chance to show her handling ability in our training track, if she performs adequately she can drive her ATV.
At this moment we do not have the credit card charge form in our Website, so it will be more convenient and safer to make a $20 deposit per each ATV with the references given at the BOOKING file that I had sent you, once you had made the transaction please let us know.

I figured I'd take her down to Yonge and Bloor, and let her drive the van. I figure it would be good practice for the ATV test, and her driving would probably fit in with many I've seen down there :rotfl:

Cheers,
Grumbo

Melinda - that sounds like a great plan... my kids would probably also enjoy something like that. Id also be interested in information on Cici water park... and also is our group planning an outing to the cliff divers at night since Disney is not.

The Only Driving Capability My Daughter has right now is......

DRIVING ME CRAZY!

I found some info on this and also have it bookmarked on my home computer. We already decided to do this since it seems like a lot of fun. I'll try and remember to post the links when I get home tonight.

OK this is the thread for Acapulco.. It has great information and you can ask questions if need be on the thread :) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=103695&page=1&pp=25

ALSO

Shoretrips is offering a 2 1/2 hour tour of Curacao (You need a minimum of 15 people) for $30 per adult, $21.00 under 12 years of age....

Description is as follows

Willemstad is divided into two parts because of the Santa Ana Bay. The Punda is on one side and is full of shops, restaurants, monuments, and markets. The Otrabanda, which means "other side", is less touristy but no less interesting. It is more residential but holds much of the history of the island in its public buildings.

You will begin your tour on the other side, where you will visit the Curacao Museum, housed in an 1853 plantation house in the Otrabanda. It is filled with artifacts, paintings, and antiques that will help you understand this rich culture. It also holdsthe first plane that ever crossed the Atlantic Ocean to the Western Hemisphere.

There are 3 ways to get to the other side of the city, the Punda. You can walk over the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge. You can take the free ferry when the bridge is swung open or you can travel over the Juliana Bridge, which is a must-do. It is magnificent both as you approach and while you cross and will give you the best view of the city. It is this last method that you will use to cross to the other side.

During your sightseeing of the Punda, you will see both commerce and residential areas. Particularly interesting are the old buildings that have given Curacao a place on the World Heritage List.

You will have a chance to visit the Curacao Liqueur Factory and taste this blue liquid named for the island. You will also take a drive through Rooi Catootje, a plantation house situated in one of Curaçao's busiest residential areas. The mansion dates from about 1820. Since 1853, the house has been the property of the Maduro family, who are still living on the island. The Maduro family built a successful business in the shipping industry and you will see their name in many places while touring this island.

After your tour, you should be familiar with the city and feel comfortable doing some exploring on your own. Don't miss the Kura Hulanda Museum in the Otrabanda, an easy walk. Also you might want to see the Floating Market in Punda.

Cheers,
Grumbo

not sure what tickets you bought, but generally tickets that are on sale at DL have an expiration date. I know there were some that expired on april 28th. I would check to make sure your tickets do not have an expiration date.

I saw the ones that were only good until 4-28, but these are good until after the time we will be there. I bought 3 day park hoppers for $139 each.

Looks like two winners on the Riddle. Sandygirl posted here at virtually the same time that EileenAmI sent me a PM with the answer. Both got it : 1 to 4 to 3 (Pitcher to Second to First). Time for someone to be working on 142 for tomorrow.

I checked out the DL website again and the passes I bought are good until January 2, 2006.

OOPS
I got so excited when I realized I knew the answer that I didn't think to PM you. Sorry!
It was a fun riddle. Can't wait until tomorrow.
Congratulations EileenAmI!!

Woohoo!!!!

We have plane tickets!!! Yay! No good deals like everyone else seems to be getting. We're flying out of Burlington, VT, so that may be the problem. I didn't check the prices for Manchester. Oh well. We're flying on JetBlue. We didn't want to take the chance and wait to see if the prices went down because they've already gone up $10 per person per leg. We leave Burlington at 6:15 am on August 18th and arrive in Long Beach at 11:20 am, so we have a good part of the day for DL.

SO.....my updated list

 cruise booked
:confused3 cruise paid for
:confused3 excursions selected
:confused3 excursions booked
:confused3 buy DL tickets
 GC booked (on points)
 bus from GC to port
:confused3 town car from port to airport
:confused3 pack
:confused3 find money to pay for stuff
 pins, lanyards, medalions ordered
:confused3 pins, lanyards, medalions paid for
:confused3 buy SOF & sisterhood shirts

Still lots to do.

I don't even want to start making a list such as that for fear of the anxiety that it will provoke.

I know what you mean. It seems like there's so much to do and I know that's not a complete list. There are still a bunch of other things we need to do before (make sure MIL can watch the dog being a big one). I still want to lose an additional 20-25 pounds (it's going, just a little slowly).

I'm a little worried about what that banana is doing to the top of the confused guy's head though.... :rolleyes1
