Hey here an idea!!!!

All 500 of us goes on line for one of the photo session before dinner at the Atruim and then say to him, we want a group pic here together!!!!

Now you got me real worried! If we gotta pay for a photographer so Shutters can make a fortune, how much we gotta pay the bartender to sell us drinks?? And my Gawd, DO NOT get the Captain to drop by! Do you realize how much we will have to pay to have him say hello? And he ain't got nothin to sell!!! Maybe he can hawk those miniature boat models and sign them for $100 a pop!


Maybe we need to disband the Ship of Fools group so we can get all this stuff for free like the other passengers!

I've been browsing around this, that and the other site, reading trip reports, seeing threads about photographs, etc., and wondered if anyone has thought about the Ship of Fools anthology of the trip - could we structure it in some way that several of us took responsibility for capturing the essence of this unique trip and then collating it into The Fools' Story (sounds a bit like something from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales or from Shakespeare). But it would mean that we would get a variety of different slants on the same trip.

After all, we're going to come off one of the best experiences of our lives, and it would be a joy to have a collage of Group experiences, thoughts, etc.

Anyone interested?

Hello kids. We got a lot of snow here, but the condo people shoveled my little walkway. Now I have a clear path once I leave my front steps, A clear path to either a foot of snow on the lawn to the right or a clear path to the foot of snow on the driveway surrounding DHs SUV. All 4 feet of clear path! But it must have warmed up some as the road is all bnalck where it was scraped. I got a heck of a headache this morning and decided to go back to bed at 11:30. After a 4 hour nap, I am feeling better, except my nose feels like I got hit on it. Must be sinus stuff.

I like the idea of a group shot viaq the call to shutters, I agree that whomever suggested the fee was for having the photo person attend the event and take pictures, kinda like a wedding photog. And all the other ideas are great, there should be enough of us with digital cameras to have a HUGE online site, and I imagine there will be plenty of standard cameras around, too.

Sitting fee..........................y'all pay me $85.00 per hour and I will sit pretty much anywhere! The pool deck will be my first choice.

I know that I missed a lot, even though It's only 2 pages! Tracy, the newsletter was superb! I have every one printed out and need to get a binder for them. Even with almost 6 months to go, we already have some great memories made.

Hmmm, just looked out the window, large white flakes are again coming down!

ETA, Donna, I love those pins!!!! I used to be a collector, I have 2 binders full, and the other day found a bag full of them from my last trip to DL, no room in the binders. Now they just sit in a closet, and I have thought about selling them. But I am way too lazy to try and set up an EBay account, so it will be up to my son to get rid of them in 40 or so years!

DD Joy says that I have to tell y'all that PamPat is now off on her travels to England today and US tomorrow - and we're missing her already, even the cats. And guess what, we've only had one minor disagreement between DD and me as she's bid on e-bay for a pop singer's autograph on a Mother's Day card - and she bid more than I had said she could. Doesn't she know that the e-bay mob come knocking on your door to make sure you pay up, even if you overbid. Fortunately this is only up to $19 - but still - when will teenagers realise the realities of money and that there isn't a pound note or dollar note tree in the back garden!

If anyone thinks I would pay DCL an additional 85.00 fee for the "Privaledge" of paying an additional 19.95 per picture, then I would like those people to sign up for the JGE Deluxe Package!! If DCL doesn't see the opportunity to make extra money then I don't see a reason to help them. I'm sure we can ask for a photographer to come and take a couple of group shots at no charge. It's just that using the proper channels can be frustrating. I have contacts in the photo business and I'll inquire about making alot of copies of our group photo.

The Group Services rep misunderstood my question about boarding. I believe they think I meant for check-in at the desks, but I meant the line to actually board the ship, similar to the concierge pre-board line.

Didn't go to Boston. I cancelled...work too hectic, too much stress with cat, mail, packing etc...so here I am. Will call up there however.

Can you see all of us handing our cameras to someone to take a group picture? I just know what it's like with the Dudettes and Jiminy C and crew...takes 10 minutes at least.

Allan I think you had a terrific idea...I did a CD slideshow of our last cruise with appropriate music...turned out terrific if I say so myself.

Not chatting tonight...too tiried...well maybe I'll stop in and say hi. Can't resist.

Tracey Great job on the news letter. Printed it out so I can read it at my leisure. And then put it with the first two. Like the idea of a binder for them.

Allan, good idea about the journals. Interesting that I just ordered one from Cafepress yesterday. So I'm set to write down all the interesting things the fools think of to do during the trip.
I agree that $85 is ridiculous for an hour of the photographers time. Of course if that is for taking candid shots during the meet that might be different. Naah not different, still too much money.

Yeah -- I FINALLY figured out how to "work the system" on the Chadwicks website. I placed a total of three orders -- none totalling more than $18 (with shipping) and ended up getting 5 free items (the wheeled tote, the iron, the grill, the cosmetic bag set and the 3-piece luggage). I ordered a total of three pairs of earrings and two blouses. I'm happy -- thank you so much for all of you who emailed me to help me and gave the codes.
