Not a problem with Disney, but you need to have it in a bag, carryon, etc., rather than just carrying it on in an obvious way.

Oh phooey, I wanted to carry it on, the FOOLS way!!! LOL!!!

Also, if it not a big deal, would like those info on WW..I think BOb is going to get the Men style, i need the woman style!! :earboy2:

If anybody's around, there's a lot of activity in the Canal right now.

absoulutley, Lynn!!

I was reading the 10 day magic trip report on another thread and i see there were some people dress up as the Pirates. That is cool!! I am to assume we will have a pirate night?? I never been to that. Where can we get a dress like that??

check this picture out..last picture... pirate dis group

I have seen some neat wine bottle carriers in a local specialty store. I think I may get some and pack the bottles in my carry-on. I'm going to check with Delta about their policy. I watched the Southwest show yesterday and it had a family trying to carry on 2 boxes of liquor. Southwest policy said bottles must be in styrofoam. The boxes were denied and they had to leave it behind. They were so upset because they were flying to a funeral. And no...they did not appear to be Irish.

About how many bottles do you think we will need to bring? Maybe I should buy more luggage!!!!!

Darlene

Melinda, that is so funny that you talk about the Pirates night. I was just reading a thread about that as well. I figure we can score a costume at the Halloween Outlet store in Worcester. Someone mentioned a pirate for the men and a tavern wench for the women. Should be a relatively easy costume to put together.

Only one for the tasting. The rest is up to you!

Regarding the wine, where do you hope to have the wine tasting? Surely Disney won't allow this in a public space????

My husband, Pete, was just walking by the computer and I called him over and said "hey, look what kind of costume we have to get for you for this cruise! He said "what do you mean?" A pirate cosutme? I said, yah, hon, wouldn't that be fun? He didn't say "no" but he wasn't exactly jumping up and down. I'm sure he'll be a good sport about it.

Oh my goodness!! I am so BEHIND on this thread!!! Mother-in-law is gone and now I have some free time!!! I'm assuming all I missed was the usual chatter--but if I missed anything that actually pertains to our cruise let me know!! Good to be back!

Went to Animal Kingdom for about 4 hours today. The weather is awesome. About 76 degrees and sunny!! Slight breeze--perfect.

Can't wait till August. :cool1:

Still working on that. I think Disney will allow it based on the 10 day cruise and their experience. I hope to do the tasting inside.

We wore black pants and striped shirts. It worked fine.

Amanda, I'm not sure if you were around for this, but we now have a wine-tasting party sign up by winotracy going on. If you want to join in on that, just let winotracy know. We are just currently discussing that we'll probably have a pirate night on the cruise and where should we buy the costumes for this? Not much else going on at the moment. Oh, RobinMarie got a new puppy.

Amanda, WELCOME BACK!!! :grouphug: Hope you had a great holiday!!! You like to push the issue that you went to Disney!! keep it up!!! and get my blood boiling!! LOL!!!!!

Lynn, funny, i just showed it to my DH just now of the pirate picture too!! he did liked though...He thought it will be cool too and is willing to dress up!!

You know, I am just thinking and my oh my,,,we have so much planning to do and only 8 months to do it!!

We all should really figure out what we are to do each night and plan accordingly. I want to bring the right clothes and stuff!! and i have a extra storage room downstairs to put anything for the cruise there. Of course, we would have to really wait until those May Nav to come out and really get down to planning.

Right now, we are in the middle of taking CMas stuff down..By tonight, this house will be C Mas FREE!!

I have a strong feeling that Disney won't have a problem with the wine tasting at all. As for the space, there are many that would be readily available and could accomodate suce a group.

The Promenade Lounge, anywhere on Deck 9 or 10, Secret Deck 7, or even Studio Sea.

We would only have to find a "quiet" time when no DCL events are using these spots.

We were at the Animal Kingdom yesterday, Amanda! Weather was perfect as well and the crowds really weren't too bad at all. We had friends in from out of state and they wanted to see the park. I think we were there for the better part of the day. The great thing about the trip was that we were in the park after dark. It's such a pretty park when it is lit up in the evenings! Unfortunately it isn't often open after sunset! :(

During the safari I thought to myself that Walt would have really loved DAK. I really think he would have enjoyed the park.

It seems like a black vest, black pants, and white (preferably billow-y) shirt for men would work great.

Along with the standard eye patch and official "Pirates In the Caribbean" bandana too!

:)

So, I know this has been mentioned on this thread at least once before, but I'm wondering about the chances that we'll be able to disembark the ship in Panama. Does anyone think this is even an option?

I think I recall someone mentioning that they had cruised the canal before and they were given the option of disembarking prior to entering the canal and then re-boarding the ship on the other side. Although I would love to see the ship travel through the canal I would also love to get off to explore the area.
