Welcome Lou to our humble "Ship of Fools" gang. It can get quite interesting around here, so hang on....it's going to be a bumpy ride !

It's 59 degrees now. Quite a change from the other day when we were below 0. I like this MUCH better. Won't have a "white" Christmas, but that's perfectly okay with me. I've been watching the weather and even Dallas,TX had snow!

Do they always tape the Christmas Day parade beforehand? When did they do it?

They do always tape the Christmas Day parade before hand. It's not live like Macy's! :)

They film it the first weekend after thanksgiving. We were there this year, it is really interesting to watch them film it.

Welcome lou.iannucci!!!

This is an awesome group of cruisemates, we're glad to have you onboard!

Well, it's a beautiful 67 degrees with the sun shining here today. Stay warm our Canadian buddies! And Janet, have a wonderful trip to WDW!!! Hope you got your cat to the kennel AOK. Lucky you eating at V & A!!!

Been busy with "kid" vacation stuff - running them to their last minute friend activities in between my holiday errands. Dh will be home shortly to begin his vacation days, yeah!

Mel, dear fearless leader, I cannot believe your kids have school today! Do you have more time off after Christmas or a winter break to compensate??? Miss you!

Well, I'm off soon to get my nails done, yes one little thing just for me. :)

Enjoy the beginning of your holidays all!

Barbara (PS I think Mark is the guy in the back who is in the middle just like Mel said... I'll bet he'd be sitting close to his children and Sandra. Plus, I remember a signature of somebody with his dd who looked like that...Mark, TELL US!!! :) )

Winotracy and dh...just wanted to welcome you guys back!!! Sounds like you had a wonderful time with Marsha and her dh and other DISers! Wow, what a concert you saw, and front row seats!!! Happy Holidays! (What a very nice thing for Peter and his dw - hygiene99 - to do!)

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. We had a company "party" today. We go in for about 3-4 hours and get paid for the whole day. They give us breakfast and have Santa and Mrs. Claus there giving out gifts to the kiddies. There was also a face painter and animal balloon maker so Haley was very busy today. We were out of there by 11:30. Then it was off to Lenny's work for his Christmas party. We just got home a little while ago, and Haley is taking a much needed nap since she's been awake since 7:30 am.

The best thing is that I'm off from work until Tuesday.

Which day? We're planning on being there next year on Thanksgiving and all the following week...we were planning on leaving that Saturday, but could stay an extra day.

Lou, you're from Hudson, just up the road on 290. Glad to have another Massachusetts cruiser joining us. Can you believe the wind and rain we are getting today? Some strange weather here lately.

Janet this stuff is coming from the Ohio Valley. It was a drive from hell to work this morning. Doris drove in with me and all she kept saying was Thank God I don't have to drive. I kept saying its all these Fools asking for a "White Christmas" :)
Hopefully the snow plows will decide to come out. Drove 45 kms up Hwy 400 and Hwy 11 from Barrie to Orillia. Didn't see one single plow in either direction. Must have been the M.T.O.'s Christmas party last night ;)
When does your flight leave Janet? Keep my fingers crossed that you get off OK. I just heard 401 East and 427 South are closed in portions in Toronto.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Man if you thought it was bad driving! :earseek: And you drove further NORTH!

Luckily we don't leave until 9:45 a.m. on Saturday! Have my mini Pot o Gold Chocolates to hand out to everybody at the Airport as a small thank you for working Christmas!

Well luckily, I stayed home until 12:30 (decided to do the laundry first just in case I got stuck someplace on the roads!) Got the cat to the kennel! Roads in TO weren't bad by this time so decided to head to work. But man those roads in Mississauga! No wonder Hazel is always in the Black, they don't plough their roads! Drove in 2nd all the way there!

In weather like this I stay away from the highways! At least in the city there are side streets to go around any problems but on a highway, you're stuck!

Hope you made it home alright! The ploughs here are just making the roads even slicker!

I should be packing but still can't decide what to were to V&A???? Plus with the 1 bedroom will have the laundry there so won't have to pack as much as I usually do, new concept for me!LOL

For the past two years it's been the First Saturday of December.

I have 1/2 a day tomorrow, if I'm lucky enough to get up early to get the rest of payroll finished up!

Then it's all those last minute (in this case all my packing) packing and off to our fav place!

Wishing everybody a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Welcome aboard Lou! Are you planning on staying on site at DL?

The Washington Post's Style Invitational once again asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. I present to you today for your delight and amusement, this year's winners:

Inoculatte (v): To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.

Hipatitis (n): Terminal coolness.

Osteopornosis (n): A degenerate disease. (This one got> >> extra credit.)

Karmageddon (n): It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.

Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.

Glibido (v): All talk and no action.

Dopeler effect (n): The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.

I just heard from Jazzman and he told me he got a 'new' dog for christmas, he seemed shocked that no one else wanted this from the pet store, as the price was only $4.00.

Nooooooo ... they're like the morphed photos at the Imagination pavilion at Epcot! Every time we're there, Lara wants to be the kitty cat - I email it home, but I can't bring myself to actually print it!

I just wanted to pop in and say "Merry Christmas" to everyone!
We booked our flights with skymiles the other day and I feel like we are really going now. :flower:

Darlene

CONGRATS Darlene! Doesn't it feel good to have those airline tickets?!

Mark, those dogs are so scary looking that I'm going to have nightmares tonight... Ask my dh, I'm already bad enough with the nightmares... (he may, just may tell you all a story or two on our cruise - one involves running out the locked front door and through the front gate all while I was asleep, ROFL---poor poor dh, good thing he has me, lol - he's never bored!)

Dear children have friends over...fed them dinner & made some more cookies with the girls. Still have a bit more wrapping to do tomorrow...what fun would it be with out some last minute procrastination?!

Happy night before Christmas Eve!!! What's it going to feel the last night when we are packing for our cruise???!!! I can already feel the fun anticipation we'll have on our thread!!!!!!!

Barbara
