2. Wax Coke-shaped bottles with colored sugar-water
3. Candy cigarettes
4. Soda-pop machines that dispensed bottles
5. Coffee shops with tableside jukeboxes
6. Home milk delivery in glass bottles with cardboard stoppers
7. Party lines
8. Newsreels before the movie
9. P. F. Flyers
10. Butch wax
11. Telephone numbers with a word prefix (e.g., Olive - 6933)
12. Peashooters
13. Howdy Doody
14. 45-RPM records ... and 78-RPM records
15. S&H Green Stamps
16. Hi-fi systems
17. Metal ice trays with lever

20. Packards

22. Cork popguns
23. Drive-in theaters
24. Studebakers

16 - 25 = You're older than you think!

The really sad thing about that list - I do remember every one of them!

Think I'll go kill myself!!!

I'm not telling....my parents made me know about those things....I'm not old. I haven't asked DH about the list yet. His answer can't be good.:teeth:

Darlene,

I've only lived in Hillsboro for about 2 1/2 yrs. and it's a big enough city that I probably don't know your daughter anyway, but that is neat that she lives nearby.

I usually fly Southwest or Alaska to LA, but I always book roundtrip. I'm fairly sure that Southwest is going to be the best for a one-way trip. I've read (on these boards, of course) that once SWA releases their rates, the other airlines will often lower their fares. We do need to book those flights on the first day that they come out though.

Wow -- that list was a great trip down memory lane. I remember 19 of them, my husband remembers 22. Oh, well -- we certainly don't feel 50 -- and we never act our age

Just when I was starting to feel old------I took the quiz and only remember 2 items first hand. YIPEEEEE!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc

Just some Travel humor:

Tendjewberrymud

Read aloud for best results (and some semblance of comprehension). This was nominated "best email of 1997".

The following is a telephone exchange between a hotel guest and room-service, at a hotel in Asia which was recorded and published in the Far East Economic Review...

Room Service (RS): "Morny. Ruin sorbees"
Guest (G): "Sorry, I thought I dialed room-service"
RS: "Rye..Ruin sorbees..morny! Djewish to odor sunteen??"

RS : "Hokay. An San tos?"
G: "What?"

G: "I feel really bad about this, but I don't know what
'judo one toes 'means."
RS: "Toes! toes!...why djew Don Juan toes? Ow bow singlish mopping we bother?"
G: "English muffin!! I've got it! You were saying 'Toast.' Fine. Yes, an English muffin will be fine."

G: "Whatever you say"
RS: "Tendjewberrymud"

This one cracks me up every time I see it. You have to read it out loud to get the full impact!

There are no smilies with canes or crutches. I remember 22 of those items. The list does bring back memories. Boy did I love Black Jack gum.

We have trip insurance for this cruise. Our TA reccomended it this time and we agreed. She felt that since we were so far out from the trip it was a good idea. So we did it this time.
Yes we are into the 200s as far as the count down is considered. Was thinking this afternoon as I put on my heavy sweat shirt this time next year we will have been home for over a month.

Big deal.
Your dad doesn't remember ANY of them ;)
Then again your mum says finding his car at the mall is an expedition ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Maybe his car at the mall IS an Expedition.

Yeah I know that was poor. But I have DHs' cold and that was the best I could do. Besides the wit is among the first things to go. Along with hearing and potty breaks.

Things are getting dark around here early. House is decorated for Halloween. We even have flashing eyes in the bushes out front. There's a ghost, pumpkin and spider on top of the computer screen. DD is trying to come up with a great costume for her boyfriend. She actually asked me if I had any ideas. I told her he could borrow my Maleficent costume. She didn't seem to think he would go for that. Made perfect sense to me.
