I would like to put a request to JGE that i am to ride a separate crane from the seniors esp not Bob!!! I do want to get there that morning!!!
I will also request for all others who do get stuck with the seniors on the crane to bring some kind of clothpins for their own nose..You know there are lots of seniors do wear Depends and if they don't change it right away...well.....you get the idea!!!

This is precisly why I want to be last on board.

Too funny.

That totally made me think of the SNL sketch for "Oops, I crapped my pants!" I can just see all these old (in my jargon, 40 or older:teeth: ) cruisers with HUGE butts clinging to the side of some nasty old net, while underwear is falling out of opened luggage!

What I did on my cruise...Day 1: As we sat on our stolen verandah, watching seagulls soar and spread their poo on unsuspecting cruisers waiting to board the Ship of Fools, I saw the most inspiring sight; three dozen elderly persons grasping the sides of a luggage net with their claw-like hands, backsides bulging with their extra-absorbant Depends, lawn chairs suspended from their backs, each trying to get one more glimpse of their "granny" cars, moaning, "Will I ever see my retirement village again?" Twenty minutes later, the LAPD showed up and arrested the board of JGE, who were the sinister godfathers of this evil "Front of the Line" plan that went horribly awry

Ohh, how I miss the Good Old Days, were we talked about nothing more than getting Drunk and Naked!!!!

Hey, we can talk drunk all you want! :) Naked, not so sure about!;)

Is anyone staying at DL Paradise Pier? Ithink DH & I are going to use our DVC points to stay there prior. We'll probably be down the Wednesday before, since we have never been to DL, or even California. I believe we're renting a car and driving to the port. Anyone have any suggestions who to use? What's close to the port? Any must sees (besides DL)?

Over the road at Disneys grand californian hotel from 17th!

What that is when you're going to be Drunk and Naked Andrew?
Glad to see you're finally beginning to lighten up a bit. :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Thanks for the good laughs, but now I found out I'm old!!! When did being over 40 become old?! So Grumbo, looks like a lot of us will be eligible for your FOL senior discount, you'd better look at your profit base on this offer!

EileenAmI - Paradise Pier is pretty far from the parks. I'd recommend DL Hotel or GC.

PP is on the property. While it is the furthest from the action, it is still easy to get to DL/DCA from there. Last time I went to DL I stayed at the Residence Inn, some of my group stayed at PP using AP discount. They walked over, and said it took about 15 minutes or so.

That's right!

Since Grumbo has made me an "Honorary" Senior traveling with Arlene, I forgot that I also qualify for the Senior's Discount! BONUS!

EileenAmI ~ Come Join Us Seniors at the GC! There are a few of us that will be residing there prior to the cruise!;)

 :rotfl:

Thanks Bob for the list of those taking the shuttle. Price seems excellent.

Yes it is interesting to find out that we have been OLD for years. Just didn't notice.

Iwould also like to make use of the JGE first on board option. It will only be me as DH is afraid of heights. He could be convinced by the JGE board of directors to take pictures of the seniors being lifted to the top of the ship. For a small fee he will
gladly dispose of any shots the seniors don't like. :earseek:

Estelle

Nice to note we have passed the 300th page.

:earsgirl::earsboy:

We can't be that old if we are wishing for the Good Old Days of Drunk & Naked!!!!! It's nice to know that somethings never change, and with this group, everytime DCL thinks we've hit a new low, we shock them by getting the shovel out and digging deeper....

Looks like we will definately need some recon work about the port and boarding etc...before the 20th. My friends and I are planning on scoping it out before we go so we know wht we are in for. This information will be sold, er I mean posted later.

Well, since I am in my middle, late twenties (read 28, 29 at time of cruise) anyone born before 1970 is old to me! LOL

Just kidding, some of my favorite people are the elderly!

Now that I have to worry about getting my butt kicked, maybe I won't let anyone know where we are staying prior, or get door magnets for our stateroom. I'll try and be incognito, and let DH get chased by the angry mob (he was born in '70, so almost a senior citizen! LOL)

But seriously, we were going to go with PP (scratch that, let's put DLPP) since we were going to use points, and that was the cheaper one. Any thoughts from anyone who has stayed there before?

Thanks for the shuttle list Bob. That is a great price.

DH is afraid of heights, but since I am also a senior (according to Eileen), I may take JGE up on the FOL service.

Holy cow!!!
1929 would make you 76 at the time of the cruise Eileen!
Heck at that age you can go for free!!!!

Cheers,
Grumbo

Very funny, Grumbo. I guess I had that coming!

This is going to be a VERY interesting trip! I keep telling DH about stuff that's going on on this thread, and he just rolls his eyes and asks "Why me, God????!!!"

I don't think he believed me when I told him that we were gonna go for a Guiness record for # of people in a stateroom. :earseek:

People, people, people, can we just keep this thread on track!!! Sheesh, you'd think this was a school cafeteria!!!

I don't know about you guys but I, for one, take this cruise business very seriously!!! AAARRRRGGGGUHHHH(Must take back control) There, the meds have worn off again, now let's continue.

Now lets get something straight. Those staying at Hojo's are taking their shuttle over between 9:30am-10:30am. They plan to group themselves as SOF#1 and SOF#2, and so on. Once they arrive at the Port of San Pedro they will be directed to stand in a new line. Those on the shuttle deemed SOF#1 will be first in line "DIRECTLY BEHIND" those arriving from the Holiday Inn. As per a previous agreement with JGE, those patrons staying at the ultra exclusive Holiday Inn San Pedro will arrive at the Port up to 1/2 hour BEFORE those cruisers staying at all other resorts. Jazzman, Grumbo and Denise have agreed to arrive at the Port by 5:00am and hold our places in line. After situating us, JGE will then direct those booking their "FOTL" package to the cargo loading area located directly across the bay at the Port of Los Angelos, just a quick 30 minute cab ride away.

I don't think he believed me when I told him that we were gonna go for a Guiness record for # of people in a stateroom.

Hmmm, there is a real benefit to having such a large group on the ship, at least for me. I think many of us have never seen a sideways facing cabin, or an outside cabin, or a verandah cabin, etc. And with all the D & N activites, we may either see them all by asking or by being beligerant at the "Door Signed" doors! Of course JGE will have access to all suites, so no worries there.

School Cafeteria, Mike? Better here than a food fight in the buffet!

But I've been trying to catch up !!!! I've added my name to list of people going. It will my sister Benita & I going ... and we've been booked from the first day announced. So far I am up to page 115. sheshh -- will I every make it to the current date?

This will be our fourth DCL cruise.... we were on the 9/4 Magic - that sailed on 9/7 -- and both of us our keeping our fingers crossed that they will let us use our voucher on this one!

We are going to DL & DCA on the 17th (third visit there).

This should be a blast !:bounce:

As Mark will soon be pointing out, you have a time limit to catch up on your reading before you will be given your test!LOL

Marsha ~ so you are organizing a Food Fight at the Buffet? Which One! This could get interesting! Close Optional?

Please give us all the details!
