You know what?? You are right!! Also, those HI fools are coming in a shuttle too, God knows when that morning??
Better yet, maybe i just sleep over at the Port friday night!!!! I am sure they have those good ole' couches there that are pretty comfy!! LOL!!! :teeth:

Serious question: Why would you want to get to the port so early?

Serious answer.
It shows that the ship departs at 4:00 or 5:00?
I doubt we'll be there much before noon if even then. Once we see how Disney is handling the embarkations, and what time you're going to be allowed to get on the ship, then I'll decide what time we'll go. I don't know what the port is like but I doubt it will be as nice as Pt Canaveral that is set up specifically for DCL.
As much as I am looking forward to this cruise, standing at a dock for 4 hours plus ain't gonna happen :)
End of serious answer.

However if JGE can provide a bar service at port Jazz and I could make enough to pay our onboard accounts before we even enter the ship :) hmmmmmmmmmm

Cheers,
Grumbo

I guess I'm thinking in terms of Port Canaveral, where it's good to be in line and checked in before boarding begins (usually around 12 noon. Since I don't have an REAS package booked (DH would hate having ANY spa treatments for himself!) I want to be able to book without the "ressie rush". Although with the number of sea days we have, there shouldn't be any problem booking anything.

I'm also travelling with two seniors who prefer being early for everything and waiting rather than having them worry that we'll be "late".

Cause we're all nuts!!!

Actually, I like to get to Port Canaveral early to enjoy the terminal and get in line and talk with fellow cruisers. Boarding usually begins about 11:45 and the early boarders have the best shot at getting the reservations (Palo,Spa, etc) they want. Then you get to eat!!!!

The unknown here is how will things be handled at LA. Obviously, the building won't be PC. Probably more generic than the Disney Terminal. Also, we really don't know when the port will open/boarding will start. So, there are still unanswered questions. We'll just have to wait for early reports from LA cruisers.

But--I still want to beat "SOF, too"!!!

Arlene....
Define "Seniors"

Gawd....I'm not falling into that category now!!!!!

I think I'll board last!!!!

Senior - (adj.) to be really old, petrified, ancient.
(noun) person of advanced years, drives a Chevrolet, wears a baseball hat with Seagull poop on it, generally resides in Florida after moving from colder climes. Generally wants to get to locations early to get the few seats or chairs.

Jeez now who could THAT be? ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Anyway, Bob just answered for me!! We are all nuts!!!

Seriously....I just like to get ahead, that just me!! ..I get like that at Disney World , at the airport, etc.. ...but realistically, i probablry won't get to the port til 10 or 11...We will be driving from DL area and have to drop the car etc and I have 2 seniors with me too!! (My parents, age low 60's) (Oops, sorry Bob, no offense!! LOL!)
I am not the type that like to be at the end of the line...Not that i like to rush things, but i hate CROWDS!!! Who do you think runs to Castaway Cay very early and grabs a spot with a hammock?? yep, that is me!!!!::yes:: LOL!!!!

Seagull poop!! Hmhh- I wondered what that was! Thought I had spilled Mayo on it. Didn't taste too bad!

Sheesh Izzinmac I should have known being from Florida the first thing out of your mouth would be "Do I get a senior's discount?"
Yeah Ok We'll give it to you for $15.00 but you have to ride on the OUTSIDE of the net holding the luggage on the crane.
I'm getting soft with these seniors. Help me out here Jazz! This keeps up we'll have very limited profits!!!

Cheers,
Grumbo

However they end up handling boarding at the port, it has to be far better than the way they handled everything at Port Everglades during those three weeks. I was on the first cruise (8/28) that had to divert to PE and while it wasn't Disney's fault that they had to make changes, it still was a bit of a culture shock not to be treated at the port the way you are at PC.

So hopefully, after a whole summer of cruises, they will have it down to a science by the time we board! ::yes::
