Sorry gassmandy, but orders from Grumbo, We cannot assist you in any recap! If you come to our cruise unprepared then we'll just have to move our little shindig to your cabin instead!! Hey gang D&N party in cabin 2580. Bob or Mary, are you gonna be able to get us that extra key to her room so we can throw her that D&N welcome party when she first arrives at her cabin??

Mark,

normally, I would be more than wiling to help, but I don't trust my daughter. If we have a D&N in her room, the first thing she will do is dump her daughter on us, and we will be stuck babysitting for the next two weeks. Don't get me wrong-I love my granddaughter - but that Gassmandy has no scruples at all when it comes to freeloading.

Now that she(Gassmandy) is back on line, I'm going to have to behave myself and act normal (whatever that means!) Now anything I post will immediately be reported to my wife, and I will be reinstated in the "******* Club" by Mary.

She just doesn't get it!!!

Okay everyone, EileenAmI fits right in with the rest of us fools. She does such lovely and intellagent posts. (yeah right)

Amanda- The idea of a state holiday on November 30th is fantastic. I have always wanted a holiday on my birthday. And it is especially wonderful this year as I have one of those milestones. The big 20 if you believe that well, there are no smiles with hands making circular motions.
But small gifts will be accepted...bottles of Asti are the best.
Everytime I get on here I find myself laughing. This thread is truly good for the spirits. Especially those in bottles. :drinking1:

Hello kiddisney- Welcome aboard. Have you had enough time to read the whole thread yet? It's mandatory!!;) . That lines getting old already.

If you haven't already done so, go to the first page in this thread and send you personal info( you know cabin # names and ages of children, amount of people in your group, pin # for your savings accounts, you know all the good stuff), to Grumbo through a PM. He'll add your group to our toal. We stand at about 400+ now.

Hey Jazzman- How about an update on our total members going. We've lost a few and gained a few....Mark

Secret Porthole Room! Now I am jealous! I wanted a SPH when we booked in May!:smooth:

Maybe I should get on a waitlist in case there are any other cancellations.::yes::

Congratulations on your room! Welcome aboard!

A compliment to me will also be necessary (eg: "Eileen, you are the most wonderful, beautiful, kind, considerate, intelligent, and did I mention beautiful, person in the entire universe! I wish I could be you, but I will settle for sitting at your feet and gazing worshipfully at you, obeying your every command!")

You're a lucky pup! We were waitlisted for that room, too! We've been in 5020 on the Wonder (the other side of the other ship). Great location. Welcome!

Here's the current info:

Headcount: 452
DISnames: 128
Groups: 118
Staterooms: 154

Interesting - by my numbers we are actually higher than my last update.

For those of you who are new - please check your listing in the first page of this thread and let Grumbo or me know if anything needs to be corrected.

-Jazz

kiddisney,

Did they tell you over the phone what your stateroom number was? I've been t rying to get DCL to tell my mine since we got the call Monday (yay!), but all they will tell me is that we have a guaranteed cat 11. Anyone know why?

Estelle (ehtnpt),

Thanks for the stamp of approval (or should I be worried that I fit in with the rest of "The Ship of Fools?")!

I'm glad to hear we have a new cruiser but I am upset with Disney because since they day we booked we have been on a wait list for a deck 5 secret porthole room. I'm annoyed that I wasn't contacted about the room. I have heard before that Disney isn't very good at looking at their wait list and this confirms it.

I agree with you completely, Kathy! We were also "waitlisted" for one of those rooms! Although they can certainly sell the cabins at the highest pricing tier now, it would still be the case if they had moved one of us and sold the waitlist our available cabin.

My experience with DCL and the waitlist isn't great so far. I've becoming a pest calling DCL and Costco about our not being assigned connecting Cat. 9's. When I initially booked, I was told that DCL gives families with small kids priority for connecting rooms and we would almost certainly get connecting rooms. Now when I call I'm being told that isn't the case. I've been told that it depends solely on the order you are on the waitlist but when questioned about discrepancies, they admit it has to do with maximizing cabin utilization.
I'm afraid that DCL has a full ship and that leaves us out of luck.
:(

Oh boy, looks like lots of us were on the waiting list for SPR...I did one on the first day for my parents. they are in cat 11 now, have a stateroom #...
HMMM..interesting....
Looks like the new cruisers have priority than the exisitng ones...

I wish they were tell me what my stateroom is!! I have cat 6 (GTY)and it seems to me that they are telling the new cruisers what # they are in and putting us at the bottom of the list for stateroom #!!

First let me apologize for not posting in a long time to everyone!! But, I have tried to keep up with my reading. Anyways........

On to airline tickets..........I just booked our flights for August 17th on US Airways. The other day I was on thier website and they showed a non-stop flight for that morning for $89 per person to Los Angeles. Today I go on I can't pull up any info on it, so I decided to call, I got a really nice & knowledgable reservationist (22 years with the company). I asked about this non-stop flight, she said "Yes it is available, would you like to book it?". I asked her about the what ifs, if the company has further problems. I was told that since they are a major carrier that another airline would honor them and if there are problems, we would be contacted right away. Now I know that it could still take a couple of days to get to us, but it is understandable. So long story short, I booked our tickets on the phone. Just couldn't pass up such a low price like that.

Now I will just say a little pray everyday until this trip comes up.

BMW, you won't find out your stateroom for a LONG time. A GTY room for most cruise lines will cost slightly less than a guarantee room because you are given whatever is left. That means they will sell whatever they can and give you what remains.

Tinkerbel#...
I don't know what the laws are in the the U.S. but I know that in Canada when an airline went out of business a few years ago, those that had booked via a TA had protection that those that booked directly did not.
I think it was the insurance TA's association carry. I stand to be corrected on that though.
Is it similar in the states?

Cheers,
Grumbo

Grumbo,

I don't know. All I keep thinking about is if everything turns out pretty good US Airways and I waited to buy tickets, they could end up being a lot more than I really wanted to spend. There was one on another carrier that had 1 stop that was just around $100 and then they seem to jump to a $200 plus (all with at least 1 stop). So I will just continue to pray everything works out for them.

I booked already too so have to see. Its a crap shoot really with the prices.
Ours ended up about $170 U.S. all taxes included.
Might be a bit cheaper or more expensive down the road but I'm on the flight I wanted and don't have to worry that it may be full by the time I book.

Cheers,
Grumbo
