EILEEN:

Congratulations. We'll also be celebrating an anniversary on that cruise -- our 27th on 8/26. How exciting!

Odd? Actually your thoughts are tame compared to most on this thread!

I can just picture Jim's (DH) face when all sorts of people start knocking on our door! And Mark, I know exactly the movie you are talking about! (I tried to insert the pic here, but I can't get it to work, so here's the link http://www.nightattheopera.net/nato10.html)

Estelle, If you bring the deodorant, I'll bring the breath mints! (Do you think we could be a subsidiary of JGE? Maybe the personal hygiene line?)

Mark..

You claim that is a picture of Grumbo delivering your product.

I don't think so!!!

I think you have mixed up Grumbo's photo with one of your product user's testimonials showing both the effectiveness and alternative uses of your product!!

I suppose Grumbo and the user could be one and the same, though!!!

Can't wait to see the entire thread in Eileens' cat 11. We'll need grease to assist in getting us all into the one cabin.

:earsgirl::earsboy:

i will just stand by the door and say "Please stand clear of the door!!"
Oh wait a minute, that for the monorail....
aaaahh, i just push you all into the room and at least you don't have to worry about falling off into the ocean since it is an inside room! ::hyper:

We can make a new Guiness World Record...how many people (drunk and/or naked) can you fit into a cat 11? Shall we have a contest to see who can get closest to the actual number (anyone remember the jell bean contests?)?

Ok, if I take the average size of an adult, and igure out how many square feet a stateroom is....and how fast a train traveling from Philadelphia to LA is going....what time of day will they meet?

I just stand by the door!, on the outside, thank you!!!!:)

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!

Due to all these FREAKIN' hurricanes-------I have had no access to the internet (i.e. the disboards) till now!!

Recap--
1. That darn Charley hits
2. Oh wait--now it's Frances's turn
3. Scramble to close on our new house (while Ivan wreaks havoc)
4. Close on house, move in next day--9/21--but due to Charley and Frances--no phone, directv, or DSL till God knows when.
5. Jeanne rolls through (been in brand spankin' new home for 4 days)
6. House in one piece--a few leaks that are currently being addressed by builder--Thank God!
7. Finally phone line as of yesterday--still no DSL or DirecTV (soon??)

Ok------couldn't read the last 3 weeks of info--you all were busy!!
If someone could give me a recap in 50 words or less--GREAT!!
Prayers to Lynda and Mike. Hope they do come next year.

Heard that Central Florida may be the new "Hurricane Alley". That would be one title I wouldn't care if the Miami area kept!! Sorry!
I am hoping we are done for the season--and I think Jeb Bush needs to declare Nov. 30th (last day of hurricane season) a state holiday!!!;)

Glad to hear you made it thru all those Hurricanes!

To recap what has been basically going on here................

We Are All Gonna Get Drunk and Naked and Have a Party in Eileen's Cat 11 cabin to see how many of us will fit!

Care to join us?

Of course this is courtesy of JGE!

If any of you are looking for movement in rooms, I have just been upgraded from CAT 8 to Cat 4, BY WONDERFUL WORK at Dreams.

I had a wonderful location close to all access routes booked on the first day, so someone is going to be very lucky.

AIRLINE QUESTION....

Has anyone booked their flights for next year with U.S. Air? So far that is the best price I am getting from Philly, but am a little hesitant in case they go belly-up. However, I hear there is a new law that is being passed that requires other airlines to honor tickets from defunct ones. So maybe I would be safe either way!

Here’s a question for our Disneyland Experts! The 2005 guidebooks for Disneyland are all being released now, and I wondered which would be the best to buy first. (I’m likely to end up with more, but I want the Birnbaum’s Cruise Guide as well and have a gift card from my birthday to use online). I’ve used the “Unofficial Guide to DisneyWorld” before, and noticed that there’s a “Disneyland” version as well. Birnbaums seems to have lots of pictures, but is the information enough for someone who’s never been before?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!! Thanks,

Arlene

(BTW, I tried looking on the Disneyland board. No luck, and the search function wasn't working for me.)

I have both 2005 Birnbaums and the 2004 Unofficial guide,
Comparison

Birnbaums, lots of pictures maps, a bit repetitive the same information for both parks, say parking etc., the official Disney view and avoids plans for crowds etc. All through rose tinted glasses, i.e. everything is nice!!

Meals light information

Unofficial guide, no pictures little maps tells you the ways to get around DL the best way, not the way Disney would like you to go, tells you warts and all, it also has information on Universal studios

Meals more in depth information.

Has a number of suggested routes around the parks.

Some of the information in both books is similar to WDW versions.

So if you love Disney and take things as they come Birnbaums.

If you want to plan every detail get up at 6am and be in the park until you have done every ride the Unofficial guide!

Hi Arlene,
i bought the 2005 unoffical guide to DL a few weeks ago. Personally i like it better than Birhaum because it gives you the downside as well as the upside of Disney. Brihaum only gives you info what Disney wants you to know....If you get my drift...

I have also have Birhuam Disney Cruise lines and it pretty good but there isn't any more info that i already know...If they only would come out "unofficial".
Birhaum has colorful and pretty pictures though....

hey, just thought of something...perhaps JGE can come out the Unoffical guide to DCL!!!!
:p

I just read in the paper that this works in theory. But, you could be sitting in an airport for days waiting for the next available flight that another airline can get you onto. You pay $25 dollars per ticket for this privilege.

This I would like to see. Do we need to pay admission?

I must admit I obtained the DCL Birnbaums as well, however I was disappointed, half the book is on the ports of call and excursions, now depending on the cruise you take a lot of it is not relevant.

Additionally it is light on detail, lots of pictures from existing photos used before in DCL promotions, and tells you how to book the cruise, for example, when I think people buying it are likely to have booked.

I felt it needed more on sample menus, deck plans, stateroom layout, more in the DCL brochure, not its fault but information is already out of date, Soda's, deposit requirements, the West coast cruises, little information.

However one or two interesting bits of information on the 'did you know' bits, like 1,367 miles of cable on ship, the ship can make 500,000 gallons of drinking water a day from the sea, cold and flu suggestions etc.

I don't want to take that chance!!! Starting a vacation sitting an airport is not my idea of a vacation!!
I am looking into Continental...They are pretty safe finanacially..hopefully!!

invaderzim,

We are looking at UsAr out of Philly also. I know that they are looking at bankruptcy, but even if they do, I think they'll still be flying (it happened a few years ago with them). I think we'll be booking our flight soon. You can't beat $79.

Denine,

Admission will be any type of alcohol. Feel free to bring more than one type! A compliment to me will also be necessary (eg: "Eileen, you are the most wonderful, beautiful, kind, considerate, intelligent, and did I mention beautiful, person in the entire universe! I wish I could be you, but I will settle for sitting at your feet and gazing worshipfully at you, obeying your every command!")

Boy, either she's suffering from Grumbo-itis or or she broke into someone's stash of Horny Goat Weed.

Sorry gassmandy, but orders from Grumbo, We cannot assist you in any recap! If you come to our cruise unprepared then we'll just have to move our little shindig to your cabin instead!! Hey gang D&N party in cabin 2580. Bob or Mary, are you gonna be able to get us that extra key to her room so we can throw her that D&N welcome party when she first arrives at her cabin??
