I'll be calling DVC on Monday about booked GC on DVC points. I hope I can get them. I've got to look at the point schedule though as I've no idea how many points it will be.
It's a very rainy, dreary, dark day here in Central Massachusetts. We had a little thunder and lightning but not much. Lots of steady rain though.
I'm sorry that two-foxes had to cancel as well. Have fun on your upcoming cruise.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Not much to say just checking in.

I am looking Coral Reef for our Cruise/Vacation next month.
we went there last year at Christmas. I really enjoyed it.

Barb--

Coral Reef is a great restaurant! I've eaten there several times and love the decor and the aquarium. Hope you have a fantastic time!!!

Hey Melinda, isn't this weather something else? We have a pine tree leaning on another tree (luckily the pine isn't ours). Brqnches all over the yard and moocho leaves. The wind has finally died and the rain seems to have stopped.
Seems the east coast has been socked this year.

Does give a little taste of what the people in Florida and the coasts of Louisianna and Texas got. Prayers for all of them and anyone who needs help.

I don't even want to hear there is going to be a drought for years here!!! LOL!!!
I thought the same thing you did, i told my DH that it was a good thing we didn't experence the "real" hurricane!! My thoughts and prayers to all people effected in south!!
Getting ready for Disney in 2-3 months??? I sure am!!!! I wanna get outta here...But not til all the Hurricanes are gone down south!!! YIKES!! What a crazy weather pattern this past year!!

Panama state of emergency after fatal mudslides

Saturday, September 18, 2004 Posted: 6:21 PM EDT (2221 GMT)

PANAMA CITY, Panama (Reuters) -- Panama declared a state of emergency on Saturday, a day after torrential rains and mudslides killed at least 14 people and wrecked or damaged the homes of about 10,000 people.

President Martin Torrijos, whose newly installed government is under pressure to repair state finances, announced the creation of a disaster fund for victims of the rains, which hit hardest east and northeast of the capital, Panama City.

Worst hit were poor residential areas close to riverbanks. Emergency workers were searching for at least 20 people swept away after rivers burst their banks, authorities said.

"We are not in a comfortable economic situation but we have to show solidarity with those that are suffering and those that have lost everything," Torrijos told reporters after an emergency Cabinet meeting.

"We are in crisis but I still don't know if we will ask for international help because we have not quantified the total damage," he said.

The civil protection agency, Sinaproc, warned the public to remain vigilant amid forecasts of more heavy rainfall.

Torrijos said he would travel as planned to New York on Sunday for the U.N. General Assembly session.

Hmmmm, perhaps Hawaii...

ETA-- all these weather related problems (and heat too) are probably why nobody sails through the Canal over the summer.

Hmmmmmm...maybe we'll get lucky and they'll have the coolest, dryest year ever in 2005. More people added to the list of folks who need prayers. Personally I think mud slides are my worst nightmare.
there is a thread on the main board about passports. So I thought I would check ours. Mine is good until '09 but DH ( the lurker)'s is only good until Feb.05. Better light a small brush fire under him.
According to what I read they are going to require passports for children too.
The weather has cleared around here, but the Delaware is going to crest sometime this afternoon at 12 feet over flood stage. That makes it 42 feet. They have been evacuating all the folks who live along the river. Someone was quoted in the paper this morning that they were beyond the 100 year flood plain mark and since their home was flooded maybe they were on the 500 year flood plain. Luckily there have been no deaths locally.

Hi everyone!
I've be lurking for awhile - I was nervous about posting since I can never seem to keep up! Anyway, I just booked my flight home for after the cruise (used up all my husband's airline points) - so the cruise is feeling more real now!
It will be me,DH and DS7 and DS9. We're on the west coast and have been to DL a few times. I'll start thinking about hotels now I guess.
Should I add my name to a list somewhere?

Hi -- welcome. If you send me a PM with your email address, I will send you a website you can sign up on for next year's cruise. If I try to list it here, it will block out the address.

Hello Everyone!

Just checking in. Kinda cool here for this time of year. I feel sorry for all of you dealing with the rain in the east. Hang in there!

Paul

Hey Paul, You think it's cool there, we woke up to below 50 degrees here on Long Island. When the remnants of Ivan pushed through it brought the cool weather...Mark

Welcome to the cruise and ship of fools. If you read some of the older posts there are several hotels being used by fools. The HoJos near Disneyland and the Holiday Inn in San Pedro are two that come to mind.

Just out of curiosity, what airline let you book return airfare this far in advance?

If you have any questions feel free to post away...and don't worry, I don't think anyone has read ALL of the posts!

Laura

Did my last round of the 'bad' chemo the 13th, and will start a different on on Oct 4th. My hair is starting to grow back (my daughter insists that i am not bald I am fuzzy) but they told me to be prepared for it to all fall out again with the new treatment!

I should all be done with chemo before Christmas!!! Then I will start growing hair and getting ready for the cruise. Now the running joke is what color will my hair be for the cruise? I was a blonde, now who knows??? Perhaps Grumbo can model different hair colors for us and we can all vote!!!!!

Whatcha Think Folks?!?!?!

Good Idea! The more the merrier!

:cat: Whiskers welcome to the Ship of Fools. There are only one or two things to remember...1 How do you feel about Martinis?:drinking1: 2... Beware of men with strange pictures (right Mark?) The rest of us are perfectly normal...
I think that the 3 names mentioned should look lovely in almost any color hair. Maybe they could start a trend on the Magic... all of them with long long hair tastefully curled.
Off now to check the local tv station to see the live pictures of the Delaware. It is supposed to crest sometime in the next few hours. Maybe. No one seems to know for sure. Last I heard it was at 30 feet and rising. Normal flood stage is 12 feet.
