Marsha the link works fine. That looks like a very nice, quiet area and your new townhome looks great.

I am so very disappointed that Rae has cancelled. I hope that Andy does not cancel as well. Very disappointing development. I was so looking forward to seeing the "shrimp" queen with her necklace. Is there any possibility that this can change?

Hi Lynn,

I just sent you a PM

:sad1:

No I'm very

I was so looking forward to meeting you guys! Like previously stated, how can we celebrate Birthdays without the Birthday People!

I know one must do what is best for their families but it still stinks!

Scratch
:(

MARY JO: So sorry about Sam's plant closing. I guess no matter how many years with a company when the plant closes you are out of a job:worried: :sad2:

HAZEL: Congratulations on your weight lost. TAKE YOUR CALCIUM! I take 1000 mg. daily as per GYN's suggestion.

I got really depressed reading the boards since some of the favorites aren't going to be able to make the cruise:boat: Not alot of happy things going on in my life but compared to you guys my life is a BOWL OF CHERRIES! Working tomorrow, my son has a job interview at 1:00 PM on Friday & the we are off to Virginia Beach until Wednesday so I will be MIA. I just need to get out of New Jersey for awhile.

"The server was busy":badpc: for quite awhile this afternoon. Hope you all had & are having a great day. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE More rain :umbrella: coming tonight...

Rae - Sorry that you had to cancel. We wish well.

Andy - Keep thinking positive thoughts. As stated earlier you have a long time before you have to cancel out. We would love to cruise with you guys!

Paul

Oh Andy and Rae :( you will be missed.

Ehtpnt, I got a haircut as well and it is too short for me. I am not too impressed either. I feel like a boy.

:wave2: Bye Jeanne, have fun.

Really sorry to hear about everyone's hardships, and about those having or may having to cancel. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone!

mickeyfan1 - Thank you for sharing your photos, your new home is just beautiful! I especially love the details of the carpentry. Enjoy and take some time for R&R, this has been a busy time for you and yours.

I've been reminded again that each minute is to be treasured as we do not know what may happen in the future. I'm going in for major surgery in two weeks to make sure I am and will stay healthy for my children and dh. So everyone, let's enjoy every minute no matter what happens. We'll just have to bring back some special DCL souvenirs for those we've come to know and love on these DIS boards!!!

Andy, please give my congrats to Hazel, that is a big WW accomplishment! I think I'll return to WW as soon as I can, wish dh and I never stopped the program as it works!

Take care and pixie dust to everyone!

Barbara :)

Anyone else thinking of staying at WDW after the cruise. We have to get home by Monday night, since our daughter will be starting school, and Howard won't be able to get off any more work (if he even gets off at all, but if he tells them what it is for I can't see them denying it, if they do, I'll take my mother with me)

So we'd have Saturday, Sundsay, and Monday. We went to WDW in 2002 (same time we arrived the sat of Labor day), stayed at WDW for the week, went on the 4 day cruise, and back to WDW til Sunday. I'm figuring we'll get to WDW in the morning and have most of Saturday, all day Sunday, and most of Monday. We'd probably get a flight our around 5pm (so we'd arrive in LA around 7pm) and leave WDW around 2. When we went last time the time after the cruise felt rushed as we were trying to hit the things we didn't get to the week before. I'd like to go for a few days to catch the new stuff since we were there. I figure we can do 3 days for $500 (actually that's a sort of high estimate, as I think we can actually get away with $300) more than it would cost us to just go home (meaning I subtracted the amount it would cost to get from port to airport out of my transporation cost). If we eat at mostly sitdown and buy a bunch of stuff we'll proably be closer to $500, otherwise it will probably be a lot less. If figure if I buget $500 we'll come home with some.

Anyone think it's worth it for 3 days?

I always think it's worth it. As of now we are planning on staying at WDW at least through Tuesday or Wednesday after the cruise.

Paul

We are also planning to stay till tuesday or wednesday. You know, since we are going all the way, might as well. ;)

Sooz :flower:

We also are hoping to stay until Labor Day, maybe book two nights at SSR for the first time. My DDs need to be at school on Tuesday, and since they will have already missed the first week of school, I won't be extending that stay.

I'd also like a day or two at DL before the cruise, since I haven't been there since '92, never visited C-A, and my kids haven't been to either park. Last time I was there Fantasmic was brand-new and the submarine ride was still operating, Star Tours was the best thing since sliced bread and Indiana Jones hadn't been built yet!

Visiting both parks and a cruise in between! How cool would that be!

I am planning on staying a few days after, also. And while I think it would be fun to see DL again, I doubt DH will be interested in me being gone an entire month. Especially since he doesn't know about this whole thing yet! 3 days is certainly doable, I have done it at least a dozen times. You have 2 choices, go comando, get up at the crack of dawn, be on the first bus, get to the park early, stay all day, hope to a later park and stay till it closes, then bus back.....................or take your time and realize that you can't see it all in that short amount of time. It will be very relaxing on the cruisae and going full out for 3 days after.................well you will need another cruise to rebound!

And we're gonna do it!

I was thinking of getting a one bedroom at either SSR, BWV, BC or wherever it available so that I can also get the laundry all done before we leave!LOL

DD starts school on that Tuesday also! I have told her that before we leave on our adventure, she must have her clothes and backpack all in order so all she has to do is get ready in the morning!

Can't be in FLA without at least going on property!LOL

Andy ~ Give Congrats to Hazel! That is such an accomplishment!

I meant to say something yesterday but your news and Raes was such a shock!

Mickeyfan ~ I am gonna look at your photos when I get to work!

I've told Dave that I won't be cruising in January!LOL

Have A Disney Day!

Estelle I got your package. Based on who signed the hat, it looks like you had a great time at the DISmeet last weekend!

Pixie dust to everyone who needs some right now.

Rae, sorry you won't be with us. At first I was sad, but to look at the bright side, I remembered I would get some shrimp now :p No, seriously, I was looking forward to meeting you. It'll have to be another time I guess.

Andy I hope you don't have to cancel. DH was looking forward to celebrating his 50th with you! Congrats to Hazel on her weight loss. WW is the way to go! I've been working towards my goal for the past couple years and have 10# more to go for a total of 50# loss. Tell her to hang in there, the more you lose, the harder it gets to lose more.

We're planning on one or two days at DL before the cruise and one or two at WDW after. We have to go to Epcot and see Soarin'. I usually can't resist going to WDW when we're in Florida, but we'll actually skip it this fall to save up for next summer.

I hope everyone has a great day and great weekend (it's my Friday :teeth: )

We aren't planning on going to WDW after the cruise. I want the children to have a day or two to get into school mode before school starts the day after Labor Day. We don't get teacher assignments until about a week prior to school so they won't even know their teacher until we get home from the trip. I want them to be well rested and ready for school.

Yep same here!!
My DH would love to go to WDW since he would like to say "Goodbye" in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and say "hello" in front of Cinderella's Castle, but i told him i would like to get home the day we get off the cruise because of school purposes. My kids will already missed the orientation and meet the teachers which is always held week before school.
We would be gone long enough since we are planning to leave 8/10/05 to CA.

Let the record show that Kathy is a mean mom. I am sure the children have already told her. (J/K)

The timing is pretty good for getting the children back to school. Although yesterday was day one for the kids in AZ. They start earlier than anywhere I ever lived. I went to school in VA where there was a state law forbidding any county system to start before labor day. The theme parks got that one passed to keep their help around for the season. I used to look forward to the first day of school, the air was starting to cool down, everyone had new clothes. I can't believe how old I am now.

I'm even meaner. I don't plan on going to DL before! Too hot and crowded! I think we'll just check out LA and maybe see some friends. Truth be told though the kids don't really care if they go or not.
