Hi! My DH and DS (10) will be joining everyone on this trip. We are all sooooo excited. We would love to meet other DISers and join the FE group.

Brian Marx had set up a FB group where much of the FE planning was going on, but the group seems broken at the moment. (I'm feeling kinda proud because I think I just figured out a good FE craft to work on.)

Do you think your DS would have any interest in being a pen pal with my DD -also 10?)

We are flying into Seattle (Southwest) on Sunday from San Diego and then have a car rented to cross the border that day since we arrive at 2pm. We're staying at the Times Square Suites near Stanley Park and will likely keep our car until Tues am despite having to pay for parking. I'm hoping we can see most of what we want to see in Vancouver proper since we only really have Monday to tour.

When we disembark on Tues, we have another car rented to drive back across the border and plan to stay the night in Seattle with a flight back to San Diego first thing Wed am. We may use that day to see things we missed in Vancouver before the cruise or head south to see a few friends in Seattle.

I'm so sorry that I've pretty much disappeared from the thread - I've gone back to school for my MSW and I've been just a bit overwhelmed!
We are interested in doing the FE, but probably can't do a meet ahead of the cruise. Just let me know the details and we'll let the fun commence!

My DH and I will be setting sail on august 2nd our 25 wedding anniversary.

Hi Everyone!
We'll be joining you all as well. In our group is me the DH , DW , DS 16 , DS 13 (will turn 14 late August).

My brother and parents are also coming along.

We're interested in the FE exchange, if there is going to be one. My DW loves doing this!

I'm finally getting around to researching, and making all of the necessary travel plans. Still plenty of arrangements that must be made though.

Do you know how easy it is to cross the border? Is this a long process? Do they make you show all of your luggage? Is there any problem with taking a rental car vs. personal car across the border? We plan to drive from East Coast to Seattle and then to Vancouver.

For those of you who do not knwo what it is - it is the same as the FE but you have just one person to get something for. It would be a little more "special", or personalized, or a step up from what everyone will get on the FE.

I will post this on the facebook page today too. If you want to get involved please PM me or send me a private message on FB. I don't want people feel like they HAVE to participate in this so I won;t have a general board. Just thought it could be sun to do this. Again it would be only ONE person you would get something for and one person for you. You could do whatever you wanted for your secret Mickey.

Hi, M & C! While I can't help with the older DD, my DD is 10 and will be headed toward 11 on the cruise. She'll be stoked to learn that I've found another girl. I've had two families take me up on writing pen pal letters, but they've both been boys.
