August 1st 2009 - Eastern 8/1/2009 The Eastern Caribbean Castaways

Hi

I'm off on my way to work and then from work head away as we have a dog competition this weekend. So i'll be in a field.

I looked briefly this morning on disney cruise site and they seem to have taken of the scuba dive excursion in St Maartan. Could someone look and check for me

If they have dave will have to do the St thomas dive excursion and I'll miss out on my choice :confused3

dcl phone no is 0800 951 3532

could you post your findins here before Sunday?

Thanks for your help :grouphug:

Helen -- yes -- I called and Disney did pull the scuba in St. Maarten. No explanation as to why. I'll ask my contact at the concierge desk the next time I call to see if they know the scoop. (they are hard to get ahold of.)

I hope the competition goes well!

Thanks Marci

Heres the thing I tried for several hours trying to get conected to the internet this morning - but no

I have raced Ben and won 2 out of 3 races.

I have then drove 6 miles to find a Macdonalds with free wifi - I am sitting here now with my diet coke. I thought I would not be able to get what I wanted as I'm 3 hours after theopening time but wow I got everything:cool1:

There is even a choice of times and dates for Palo brunch:scared1:

So I've booked

Palo brunch 1st sea day (wil cancel of course if our group request comes through)

Spa alone time pm of 1st sea day (for me)

St Maarten - island drive and explorer cruise (both of us)

St Thomas Daves doing the scuba (if you want to join him scuba d your more than welcome)

Palo dinner Thursday which means we can get the lobster at Palo - its fab

What are you guys doing?

Got to go and get back to racing take care

Will log on tomorrow when I get back home:grouphug:

We are out of town right now...down in Oregon for our daughter's college graduation yesterday. :) When we get home this afternoon we are going to do our bookings. I will try to get the Sunday Palo brunch, if it's still available. I'll let Dave know about the scuba in St. Thomas. I don't know if he's totally decided what to do! :) Glad you got all of your choices!!! I would book now, but I'm on a hotel computer that times out and I'd hate to be in the middle of a reservation and have it go out on me!!

Kim

Helen;

How do we try to get the brunch reservation? Do I need to send you money? (I'm paying for my folks and brother and sister-in-law)

thanks!
Barbara

Shipmates,
Yesterday we had the great joy of attending the graduation ceremonies of our daughter, Melissa, from Corban College. She is now a teacher like her mom, Kim. And rest assured, Kim will be sharing a little more than I am.

I wanted to beat her to the post. So here is a picture of our happy little family.

See you in 90 days.

Dave

Oh, and check the new siggy, with two teachers. And check out the tie I purchased on my last Disney Cruise.

OK shipmates,

I know the disussion regarding D23 is still hot on the rest of the boards, but RU23? We signed up and we are pleased with the membership so far. The two magazines were well done and informative and the "gifts" were fine, though the fan is better than the poster (I think it, the lithograph, should have been smaller so we could have framed it and placed on the wall without taking up a poster sized footprint).

So, do we have fun talking about D23 on the cruise or do we avoid it like politics and religion?

Dave

We booked our Palo reservations and excursions! :woohoo:

Palo Brunch - Sunday 8/2 - 11:30 (will also cancel if group brunch comes through)

St. Thomas - Skyride to Paradise Point

We left the rest of the afternoons on the St. Maarten and St. Thomas days open for the beach, etc. :goodvibes

Hi Barbara

I have been in contact with DCL and requested it and submitted all our reservation numbers.

We find out approx 30 days before we sail if we are successful

If we are successful anyone who has made an individual reservation (like I have )will need to cancel it .

You do not need to send any money - when we go to the brunch after the meal DCL gives you a till reciept that you sign and its taken off your account.

:flower3:

Glad you got everything you wanted:thumbsup2

I think DCL numbers must be really down - in 6 cruises I have never known brunch reservations still be there hours after booking opens - normally they go within minutes - still if the ship is quiet I wont complain

... yesterday! DH, DD17 and I will be on board. We were lured away to other cruise lines by deals we couldn't refuse (Holland America was wonderful -- for adults), but we're returning to our first love!

I may not be able to read all 31 pages of posts. Can I ask if there is a list of Dis'ers and a meet set up?

Welcome!

Congratulations to Melissa and your entire family. You have a truly beautiful family!

I joined, but it was right before my surgery, so I haven't had time to read the two publications yet. I'm be interested in hearing your thoughts.

Yeah -- I just paid off my pre-cruise stay. It's getting closer!

As Newbies we can't make reservations until 75 days - hope we can get the things we want!

Money is tight here in the Lefebvre household so we haven't joined D23 - although I picked up the magazine at the bookstore! We get Celebrations magazine and Laughing Place Magazine so I wasn't sure if I wanted to send the bucks for D23 - especially since there isn't any way we'd get to the expo.

That sounds like so much fun Barbara:goodvibes

Thank you for organising the FE

Dave is wondering why Disney apps keep appearing on his iphone:rolleyes1

Which Disney apps do you like? I LOVE my iphone and looked at some of the Disney apps, but I haven't gotten any of them yet.

:confused3 ok this is probably because I'm British - but I dont have a clue what D23 is??? you got me puzzled- at first Dave I thought you were asking if anyone had a daughter who was 23 - but now I guess its a magazine?:rotfl:

I put a wdw dining one on his phone - it is really good and I think it will be really useful when we are at the parks -not long now:cool1:

It lists all the food places and has their menus and prices

I did not realise you were newbies - I'll keep my fingers x for you

I am hopeful our brunch request will come through - fingers x

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking but today I decided to join and post a hello! We are booked on the Aug 1 cruise as well!

It is our 3rd Disney cruise but our first 7-day cruise. There are four of us, my husband & I plus our two sons, ages 12 and 14. The 14-year old turns 15 on Monday, Aug. 3 ... one of our "at sea" days!!

D23 looks to be some sort of Disney fan club site. If you do a Google search for it you will see it.

Looking forward to August 1!!
