August 1st 2009 - Eastern 8/1/2009 The Eastern Caribbean Castaways

Isn't that a good feeling to know you got the best deal by booking early?

Sorry about the snow yesterday. We've had a few days of 70s, though Easter was a little chilly with windchills in the high 40s or so. It should be nice some more this week, so I'll try to send some :sunny: your way. Do you remember which restaurant the latest first seating starts in? I can't remember... I think we may stick with early dining again but want the latest early dining.

IndyRosa -- did you book yet?

Hi Barbara! Are you having fun planning yet? :goodvibes

I'll keep a look at for the sun -it was snowing all weekend brrrrrr

Not sure about the dining rotation -I read on the main board that they are experiementing and changing some of the dinning rotations - I think the 2nd and 3rd nights are being repeated so instead of PLA its PLLA - although this is just an experiement.

This will be the first cruise where we'll have the early dining. All of our others have been late, although after our last cruise (med) we said we'd never have late again. It was probably just the servers we had, but we missed loads of things (sailaway party, pirate party etc) we were not leaving the dining room until 11pm :scared1: Often our main courses weren't served until well after 10pm. I even spoke to the head server (first time ever in 6 cruises) things did improve slightly.
so I'm actually looking forward to trying the early seating;)

No - haven't booked yet... keep getting on the website and forum about every other nite... my DH is a little nervous to plan so early I think...
I thought I read something about a 'fuel surcharge' could be or would be possible if you book after 3/31/08... I'm not sure if it was on the website/forum, or where it was now...
I'll keep working on the DH !

Good morning everyone - its still cold here, but at least we have some :sunny: today -

my friend from work, came in to school all excited as she has finally (after years of planning) booked her wedding -she couldn't wait to tell me -Guess what the date was - 1st August 2009 - she was so disappointed when I told her I couldn't go -:sad2: whoops

16 months and counting

All are welcome to join our thread;) and help us all plan

Hi

15 months 4 weeks :cool1:

:hourglass:

It seems like it's :tiptoe: creeping by instead of :car:

Well this is the first day of my 2week holiday.

Its been snowing and the temp has been inbetween 30's and 40's brrrr its cold.

Boy oh boy could I do with a cruise;)

How about everyone else? IS it warm anywhere?:confused3

Keep counting the days

:hourglass:

Helen -- yes, we've been pretty warm. We've been going between 55 - 85 for a high the last few weeks. It can still get cold at night, but the days have been nice. Extremely windy, though.

Snow...:scared1: I hope you have a great break. Any special plans?

Hi Marci,

Yes we've had snow this week although at the moment its just raining.

Keep your fingers x as next week we are taking the dogs and going away in our motorhome (RV) So I hope the weather get better!

Keep counting down
;)

We're doing early dining - best for the kids I think.

I'm doing weight watchers to try to get a bit thinner for my brother's wedding in Sept. He and his wife will be on the cruise too. The bridesmaid's dress she picked out may actually be what I wear for formal night!

Finally feeling like spring here in PA!

I love WW! It has really helped me a lot, both to lose weight and get healthier. That's wonderful about the weather. We've been a little cooler here at night -- in the 40s, but we are supposed to get warmer by the weekend.

Hi all,

I'm back from my little holiday. Weather was ok - but there was a lot of April showers. We just need the temp to rise though!

Its funny you mention ww - I really need to get a grip and start back. On holiday I dreamt of going back to class -I will have to do something soon:confused:

Take care

happy planning

:welcome:

Ps hope I've got everyones details correct :rolleyes1 please let me know if I need to ammend anything.
So we can keep track of our huge group:laughing: I'll post this on page 1 too

Howdy ya'll!

Thom (Tom short for Thompson) and I (Monica) will be celebrating our 10th anniversary on the cruise. We are first time cruisers but very excited. We live in San Antonio, TX and will be leaving behind two darling but relentless dds age 3 and 5. I just hope to mainly relax and spend some quiet time with dh. We travel alone once a year but usually to fast paced cities and only for 4-5 days. I think we also have one of those secret rooms. At least that's what the agent said. We have late dining which is good for us since we will sleep in late.
Our friends think we are nuts for taking a Disney cruise sans kiddos. But I know that Disney always does things well.

Great to be joining you!

Monica

Hi Monica! Welcome to our group. I think you and Thom will have a great time. There are lots of people who do Disney cruises sans kids.

My family and I take a trip to SA every Labor Day weekend. We go to Sea World and stay at the Hyatt Hill Country. It's wonderful to have other people from Texas on our cruise.

I hope everyone is having a great week. :)

Monica & Tom, congratulations on your upcoming anniversary

Your very right - Disney does do things well -but I think I'd better warn you
cruising with DCL can be addictive -:rolleyes1 I know ask my dh (this will be our 6th cruise)

Any help we can be with your planning -just ask

If you have a secret porthole room (cat 10)- we'll probably be neighbours;)
Although you could have a secret verander room (cat 7)

Its funny, I guess I dont really appreciate how big the USA or rather Texas actually is. When you said you were from texas straight away I thought oh she must be near Marci - but when Marci said she takes a trip there I guess not - Please forgive my ignorance -I'm only on a small island over the pond!

Any way, welcome again

Hi ya'll,

Do you know if DCL bus will pick you up from the dolphin hotel? or maybe POP? We were thinking about spending two night before our trip. Also how early would they pick us up the day of the cruise? Would we have time to visit a park that day?

Monica

Hi Monica,

I'm not sure about the dolphin hotel , I know they prick up from boardwalk (as I've done it)

The buses usually pick up people from resort around 12:30pm (there is only one time for each resort)

Another option for people who want to do a park, there is a bus that picks up from the animal kingdom park - not sure of time though, I guess it would be around mid-day also.

It depends what you want to do - you could book an early character breakfast and then have a couple of hours.

We.ve used the bus transport 3x, but we prefer now to get a town car. The reason being, everytime we just ended up wasting the morning hanging around the resort waiting for the bus. ( we were too excited to go anyway or paranoid that we'd miss the bus !) My last cruise we got the town car to pick us up from resort @9am and we were at the terminal, by 10 and on the boat by 11:30. We'll probably do that again for this cruise.

Hope that helps
:goodvibes
