Well.....i have finished work...at 8am this morning. Three wonderful weeks off...plus a day!
Can't beleive its only 3 days until we leave...we have been looking forward to this for soooooo long!
Still have a shed load of stuff to do..its going to be a busy weekend! And all too soon it will be Monday...and we will be on our way!

Can anyone tell me...can i definatly get magnetic tape at Michaels or WalMart.? We are having the devils own job finding magnetic paper or tape here....i know i saw it somewhere..but i think it may have been on the Michaels website (we dont have Michaels here..I love it...so much craft stuff so little money!)...so all my wandering around my home town has been in vain! (I am a very enthusiastic shopper...i see stuff then forget where...then spend ages trying to find it again...head like a proverbial seive!) DH has printed and laminated door signs....just need to magnatize thme! Is magnatize a word? Any English teachers out there? lol Think we might just sort them out when we get to the US!

Have not quite finished my FE...going to get the needle and thread out to do a bit of tarting up...have a Mickey union Jack to sew on...then we will probably be there! We are short a few FE gifts..but again I will sort once in the good ol' US of A ! We have a lot of european chocolate pirates...hope they survive the journey and the heat!

So....i should really be getting on with my sewing...packing...housework...manicure...pedicure...other vital stuff...lol

Pneumonia has gotten in the way of all of my to do's. I have serious To-do list envy!!! I'm definitely up for a meet a the pool! I've missed everyone while I've been stuck in bed!



LeeAnn, have you checked out the flying website? Or at least packed your only friend in flight?

Sorry to hear you've been so sick! Glad to hear you're feeling better now. To-do list will get done.

I did check out the website and took their online course. It should be a help....I will let you know. Thanks again. Don't worry though, I always fly with my friend packed.

We bought our magnetic paper at Staples, but it is magnetic printer paper. I am going to ACMoore and Michaels today to look for more tshirts so I will look for the magnetic tape for you. Do you want me to buy it for you if I see it - how much do you need?

I would keep the chocolate in your carry-on on the plan - I doubt the cargo area is airconditioned.

I seem to have the same list of to-do's as you, but can't seem to stop Disboarding.

BAA very harsh on hand luggage at the mo. virtually everything that might possibly...just maybe...could in a million in one chance be potentially threatening (!) has to be put in a ziplock bag ( a very small one i might add!) and presented at security. I have too much chocolate for that...lol and i dont want to risk having to bin it all if security reject it. (I saw some awesome make up in the bins last Easter when we went to San Francisco!) Its colder in the hold anyway...and i will wrap very carefully. But if your son (for these are 'boy' FE gifts) ends up with a kind of deformed pirate or parrot in his FE then i apologise in advance!

....just can't seem to put the laptop down...help me...please...... so much to do...so little time...AND my car is being serviced tomorrow! so so little time AND NO CAR ahhhhhhhhhhh....(Its staying at the dealers for the holidays...we park on the road and i dont want anything to happen to my baby...so off the the garage in the morning. Guess I will have to drive DH's bus if i need to leave the house....lol *shudders at the thought of walking...which will become evident to all soon... *

Did i mention I have finished work????? For 22 whole days...??? (I love my job..I bet you could tell eh!???!! )

Still havent done anything....been talking to my DMum...who is flying from Glasgow on Monday .....we are going out of Manchester on a different carrier and meeting her and my brother in Sanford. We have about 3 hours to kill before they arrive....so its off to the shops for me

She hasn't packed either....although she has cleaned her house. Why do we clean our house before we go on holiday? Is it so it will be nice for burgalars?

Hey everyone! I can't believe how long this week seemed. 13 more days until we leave and it's ticking by so slowly. It's so hard to concentrate at work when I think of all the other things I could be doing.

I'm so obsessed with checking the boards each day to see what everyone else is talking about. I think it's the only way I can make it through these next 2 weeks.

We haven't received our cruise docs yet, but I'm on the look out for them.

Jenanderson- I'm sooo jealous you get to spend 10 days at the Poly. I'll just have to settle for my 3 days.

Can't wait to meet everyone.

We have no documents...and our postal service is in the throws of industrial action at the moment *up the workers* so probably wont get any. we have to trust in the internet....lol *eyes skyward* I am sure DH has it all in hand.... We are our own Travel Agents...lol


Dana...i get 8 weeks paid annual leave a year...but i do have (sometimes) to work on traditional holidays! We tend to have one 'big' family holiday a year and one little one if we can. DH doesnt get as much leave...but he NEVER has to work Christmas (my bete noir!).

Lucky you 8 weeks!!!
I get 3 weeks and will get up to 4 in 2 years. BUT as a manager it is difficult getting the time off. (all of my employees think I have it easy--yea right) I don't have to "work" traditional holidays but I have to take "call" and if there is a problem go in to work. makes it difficult to plan.

In my line of work we start at 5 weeks...up to 6 in 5 years..then8 weeks after 10 years. I am old...so I get the full 8 weeks.
Mind you ,i cant have them when i want! I can have 2 weeks between May and September. None over Xmas and New Year. So i generally have all of Easter school holidays...and a week every month after Christmas! I work part time and shifts....so for our 19 day holiday i am only using 46 hours of holiday
(4 shifts) -plus some time owing from missed breaks..late off duty etc... Its a hard life!

It is a sad life I lead. 1 week to start. 4 weeks after 10 years. I do get "comp" time if I get called in. Usually taken that week. I am not allowed vacation time January until....??? after annual surprise inspection by federal government (ugh ) could be anytime till May. Everytime I see my sister-in-law and step sister (teachers) I kick myself.
