Someone please clarify for me about the gifting.. There were so many posts that I got confused on how this is going to work. I know we are going to get a list on Aug 1st of who is participating, but are we buying for everyone on the list, or are we going to be assigned people? I was out shopping this weekend and found a bunch of cute things, but had no idea how many I should buy. I can always go back to the store after we get the list, but wanted to get an idea.

I started making my FE last night. I did a small sample out of scrap fabric and it came out pretty cute. It's raining right now, and my house is clean, so I may work on that now. I really have no sewing skills, so wish me luck

I think I'm actually pretty much done with my to-do list. I only have to call Monday about boarding my dog (I was hopeing a family member would volunteer to come stay and watch him and save me about $200, but no luck ) I have to print my door magnet, my itinerary, and that's pretty much it except pack

Hope everyone else's planning is going well. I finally had to make a count down chart b/c my DS8 was bugging me with the "how many days until we leave for Disney"? We're down to 18 days now.

I was asked to post ages of children, here goes:

Girls - 6, 7, 8, 11(3), 12(2), 13(4), 14(4), 15(4), 16 = 21
Boy - 6(2), 7(2), 8(2), 9,10, 12(6), 14(1) = 15

We have another family added to our list. That brings the total to 36 children. Lots of happy, happy children!!!!

That's pretty neat about how many families we have for the FE. I only wish this was going to be a 7 day cruise.

Hope to get my signs laminated today. I need to check for school supplies since everything has to be packed before we leave. I'm excited about the cruise, but sad too since school starts a day after we get home. On the flip side, Allison's soccer season starts the following weekend, so we all look forward to that starting up again. Little things.....

I really can't believe how soon this trip is coming up.

Wow....looks like the list is continuing to grow..Me thinks me needs to go shooping for more booty again.....need to find the right ship to plunder. .....looking for list so I can see idf all the stuff I have plundered makes any sense with the ages and all.....

Thanks Donald for reminding me to get door signs laminated ...or something...to protect.

Had to start packing a little, because my partner just left for Greece and will not be back tiill day before we leave for WDW...so I'll be lucky to get anything done between now and then.... Oh well...I got the shirts packed...so I'll likely be the guy with brightly colored shirts and no pants!

Wow! What a great number. Seems like a good range of ages and everyone should make lots of new friends. This will be a lot of fun. So glad the final four days are so lively. I still can't belive the lack of response on our first three days 8/16-8/19...guess no DIS'ers on that one. It will be our rest time.

I finished my fish exender last night. I just have to add the string to hang it. I think it came out pretty good (If you don't look close and see that I couldn't sew a straight line ) Oh well.. it'll serve the purpose. Just thought I'd share a pic.

Your fish extender looks fabulous! I just bought the last (hopefully ) batch of my FE gifts. It really does seem like a great group is going. I can't wait. Are we still on for trying to meet at the Poly before we sail? Let me know what day/time and I will try my best to be there. No cruise documents yet, no passports yet - I hope we are really booked on this cruise and I didn't just imagine it

Thanks for the compliments on my FE. It took me about 5 times as long as it should, but oh well.. I still have fabric left if anyone wants me to make one for them?!

I would love to try to meet up with ya'll at the Poly, but I think our 3 days are completely scheduled. We have plans to be at the Poly pool on the 16th, either before or after dinner, so not sure on the time. But that's about all the time I would have. I guess I'll just have to wait until 19th to meet everyone.

Can't wait!!

Lee Ann - When are you available for a meet? I can't do the evenings of 15th or 16th(4pm ADR) but am planning afternoon breaks all other days.
What about earlier on the 16th or 17th/18th around 2 or 3pm?


My kids will miss the first 3 days of school. Oh well. what can they say i am on the school board

It seems like time is ticking away so slowly. The count down ticker is not moving fast enough...BUT so much still do do. It seems like we have a fun and large bunch. Marvelous that there are so many kids. Lucky for me football has offically begun. Right now the house is quiet and I am alone...what to work on next???

wel....the girls are back from scout camp (along with an amazing amount of washing! ugggg) .....we have sorted out most of our FE stuff..(just 3 more to get unless the list grows today, but those will have to wait until we get to the US)...one suitcase packed...3 half packed...no more than 23kg each..i keep adding and weighing..lol..luck we are allowed two each-how else would i get all my shopping home I was going to be ruthless and only take enough clothes for one week each....plus a few extra bits for the cruise...but a few extras have found their way in. And so many shoes. Its turning into a nightmare...lol
And summer has finally come to Britain...so the kids are wearing an odd assortment of clothes...all their good stuff is packed (or half packed!). Roll on Monday!

DH has sorted out all the paperwork....i get nervous going to check in desks without tickets....just have faith in the internet. I dont relax until we get through the ticket desk...

just need to sort out cats and dog...and work a few more days.. add a few embellishments to my FE...tidy the house...finish packing...print door magnets (DH's job)....then Florida here we come!

Kids and DH are going to the Sunrise Ceremony to celebrate 100 years of scouting tomorrow. Any other Scouts out there?

Yes, my DD is a scout also. So are quite a few of the girls travelling with us. Are your levels in scouting the same as ours...brownie, junior, cadette and senior? I know there are at least 3 senior girl scouts travelling in our group (from my troop).

Dana - not sure what plans we have quite yet, but we are usually around in the afternoon too (too hot to do anything but swim).

I am printing out door magnets today, have finished FE gifts, have printed out iron-on transfers for a few shirts but have no shirts as of yet, nothing packed yet, no passports yet, no cruise documents yet but checked in online and the house is quite the mess right now. What have I been doing all summer!!!! Oh yeah, disboarding! Oh well, everything will get done right?

Mayeb my one lone DS (14) boy scout can hang out with all the girl scouts. Last cruise he had a big number of scouts, this year he is a pary of one. Poor kid.

Off to drop my DD to evening soccer camp, and I go teach for a few hours. Still not getting all done that I wanted to get done. I need a few rainy days. I also need help in making up my mind on things.

What is the purpose of the lamination - besides the obvious preservation - does the salt air do something to it, or do people mess with them? DS worked so hard on it, I'd hate to see it ruined. Thanks for your input!
Finally found black photo mattes, 11x14 w/ 5x7 opening. If anyone is looking and having a hard time, try an art supply store.
PS - Movies showing on our cruise will be: Wild Hogs, Invincible, Meet the Robinsons, Ratatouille, PoC@WE.

how did you find out what movies are going to play?? im excited now i want to see meet the robinsons again. i love that movie, and i never saw PoC@WE so im excited to see that.

Maybe you could put it in a sheet protector?

If I were you, I'd scan it into your computer just in case it doesn't survive the trip there and back. At least that way you'll have a copy of it for scrapbooking and remembrance!

Don't worry. I laminate mine because if my ink gets wet, it runs, and to give the sign some stability. You could pack them between two sheets of thin cardboard and place them in a mailing envelope. Or just get a mailing envelope for pictures. Then there is a place to get the pictures you buy back home easier.
