August 18th, 2013 - 4 Night Disney Dream Cruise

Hi everyone! Just booked this cruise on Friday, and checked in on Monday! It will be myself and the kids, Nick 13 and Alyssa 11. Can't wait!

Just joined over on the FE thread-- DW and I are doing this cruise B2B with 8/22 on the Dream. :)

Hi everyoe! :yay: My son, Holden, got his "wish" from Make-a-Wish and we will be sailing with Mickey on August 18th! This is our first family cruise and Holden's first Disney experience. It is me, DH, DD15, DS8 and DS3 (Wish child). We are super excited!

Hello!
So excited my family and I booked this cruise. Hope to get some
great advice about the cruise from all of your seasoned veterans!
My husband and I will be on deck 8 with our daughters who are 6 and will be 18
months by August.

Would like to get involved with the fish extenders... do we create
a group for that?

Thank you in advance for all of the info!

We have a FE thread! The link is up further in this thread. I'm on my phone so I can't re post the link right now. Come join us!

Hi everyone,
I was hoping we can share what we are doing on the day we are at the Bahamas. Does anyone know the best beach to go to?
We are planning on going to the Straw Market. Any other suggestions?

Thank you!

We are doing Atlantis that day. I did the whole book a room at the Confort Suites deal that I read about here on the DIS. I'll let you all know how it works out!

Hi Everyone. I think we are closing the FE group on July 1st (Link is above).
We would love to have you. Only 9 cabins so far :-)

Hi Y'all!
Just booked this last minute cruise today! We are veteran Disney cruisers, but usually plan a year or two out, so this is really different - and exciting - for us to be cruising in 43 days!

On board will be me, DH 50, and our three sons, ages 16, 16, and 20, and my parents, both in their 70s. We started cruising Disney 9 years ago, and it is still my family's favorite vacation choice. :goodvibes

I hope you all are getting excited! I was glad to be able to get a couples' massage reservation for Nassau day, and I saw there were several openings for Palo brunch on the at sea day.

I better start packing! and working on my door magnets! Woo Hoo!:cool1:

Anyone planning on doing the Castaway Cay 5k?:beach:

I've started my packing list and list of tips. Even after six cruises, there are still new ideas to learn and old ones to remember - like ordering Mickey Bars from room service! We often try to remember to order these from the waiters at dinner at least once or twice.

I just found out (from the DIS!) that you aren't allowed any longer to bring over the door shoe holders. Rats - that was my most favorite tip ever! Oh well, we will survive.

What time are y'all getting to the Port? Where are you parking?

Not sure about the 5K. Have you done it before? Do you get anything cool for finishing it :) Can you tell I'm motivated by free stuff?

Do you want to join our FE group? We were cutting it off as of July 1, but if you want to join, we'd be happy to have you. I haven't finished all my shopping yet anyway!

Hi Jessica - nope, I've never done it, but have thought about it, lol. I'm not a runner, I do like walking. I am trying to convince my family of men to try the 5k, so DH and DS16 (the non-sports twin) began "training" last night. We'll see how far that goes.:rolleyes1

You don't get anything free, but I have read you can buy a commemorative tshirt if you complete it. I will look more into that.

I won't be doing FE this trip, but thank you for the invitation. It looks like the FE thread is where all the action is!:cool1:

I'm slightly frustrated by this whole "Port Arrival Time" thing. I understand why they have to do this, but I am so accustomed to arriving at opening time! In the end, I'm sure it won't be a big deal, but I need to adjust my thinking.:dance3:

Well, even if you don't want to do FE exchange, feel free to chat with us on that thread, too!

Since this is my first Disney Cruise, I don't understand the whole "port arrival time" thing. We will be driving to the port, as we are taking the autotrain to FL and staying one night at AKL before the cruise, then doing the parks after the cruise. When do they tell me my arrival time?

When do they tell me my arrival time?

Jessica, have you filled out the "My Online Checkin" on Disneycruiseline.com?

If not, do it right away. You will need your reservation number. As you fill in the info, you will get to a page that tells you to choose your arrival time. Earliest I could get was noon.

p.s. Jessica, where are you parking? I have parked at the terminal before; last time I parked offsite at park'n'cruise (easy and cheap); am considering another offsite spot for cruise time as well. The savings was worth the minor inconvenience of not parking on site.

Not sure yet. I didn't know about the other options besides the terminal. Maybe I'll have to check that out!
