Hi
Well not a good day today!!! Took DD to tennis and then up to the school to help set up for the summer fayre tomorrow. DD was running around the playground and field with her friends and tripped up. Unusually, she cried and cried, obviously hurt her knee and arm. I took her to the A&E and she has broken her arm!!!!
It is a greenstick fracture about an inch up from her wrist, on her radius and they have put a cast on it and she has to go to the fracture clinic on 23rd July, when they will reassess and may put a fibreglass cast on it.
Bad news is that she starts her summer holidays from school next week and won't be able to go to holiday club (summer camp), as it is sports related!! Now I will probably have to pay for private care at great expense for the three days that I work. No swimming, soft play etc. etc. It is their sports day on Monday and she so wanted to be in the hopping race

We had so much planned.
The cast should be on for 6 weeks, which means it is due off the weekend after we sail

I am hoping that they may take it off slightly earlier before we go, she will be gutted not to go on the Mickey slide and in the pool.
I just can't believe this happened today and so easily too. Has anyone got experience of this kind of thing in kids? I feel totally drained and could have cried myself when they said it was broken, I just feel so sorry for her, she still doesn't really understand the limititations that it will have for her summer break and she was so brave.
It seem lots has been going on on the boards, I still haven't caught up with everything, but I had a look at the Journal page, absolutely beautifully done.
I will add you all to the FE list, I agree that we should close on 1st August. I will use room numbers you have at the moment. If anyone upgrades, then let us know at the dis meet and just in case anyone doesn't make it there, I will put a note on our cabin door, and you can check there for a current list.
I don't know if you would rather have a day to 'drop off'. but feel personally perhaps that as it is such a port intensive cruise, things may not go to plan and people shouldn't be pressured to have to do something on a particular day, so maybe we should just leave it for you to deliver when you wish. Let me know your thoughts - I realise this may mean on sea days we have lots of things, but anyone who had a port day may find it a bit stressful to fit in and this should be a holiday after all.
Irene, please do PM me. We have done all the ports before, except Tunisia and Malta. Malta will be easy, it is only Tunisia that I think is 'different' from the rest of the stops. But reading on the boards it would appear that it is 150 euros for a taxi for the day. It is a very popular tourist destination for us in the UK.
I do agree though that some ports are very easy to do on the train, we have been to both Rome and Pisa on the train before and also got the train in Naples, Although I wouldn't recommend the walk to Naples train station, it isn't a good one (along a very busy dirty road).
Reading how organised you all are, I am a little worried, I usually pack the night before! and never get around to putting an itinerary together, I used to BC (before child), but now it all just seems to get taken over by other things! Last time we went I even forgot the guide books!!
I will do some catching up and update the FE list. Let me know if I have forgotten anyone.
