My family and I are booked on this cruise as well. It will be our first time cruising and we are excited and nervous all at the same time. My DH and I will be celebrating out 18th anniversary while on board. I am a little worried about out DD who is 11 since she is an only child, I have been told that she still have a great time so I am hopeful.
See you all in less than three months.

Hi Jennifer - wow, what a great first cruise! Your friends are right, your DD will have an awesome time (and so will you guys). My DD is also an only child who is 11 -- she loves, loves, loves to cruise! She loves the independence a cruise provides, loves making new friends and loves being able to choose what she wants to do. Make sure you take her to the club the first night to check it out and meet a few of the counselors and other kids -- the first sea day will be a great opportunity for her to get to know some of the other cruisers her age. Make sure you bring a highlighter for her so she can mark the activities she would like to do in the club.
If you have questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Welcome aboard Jennifer.. My DD is 12 so she'll be in Ocean Quest with your DD. We're celebrating our 15th anniversary while onboard as well!!!!
Mary - I just got the sketcher sandals delivered and they are SOOO comfy!!!!!
I was just wondering where everyone is coming from and how long of a flight you have.
We are coming from Germany so only a 2 hour flight, but for those of you coming from the States I would assume that jet lag can be a real pain.

We're coming from NJ and I believe our flight is 9 hours.

jstin said:I guess it could be worse you could be coming from the West Coast. We are originally from PA. I have found that to avoid jetlag you should stay up with no naps until it is bedtime. I have also found that going back to the States is harder for us than coming this way.
Guess what I'll be doing tonight at 9pm Pacific?
well, that would be me! I lve in WA, closer to the Canadian border than to Seattle. We're actually flying out of San Francisco (dad lives down there, taking cats to "visit" while we're gone) to Zurich, then to Barcelona. I'm worried about DD....she's a great traveller, but a 9 hour time change should be interesting.

Stupid question, but what?
