Lori, you aren't going to believe this but my husband Dan also won a cruise critic bag for Day 11! Two people from our cruise...that is too funny.


Also does anyone want to set up a little meet maybe on the first sea day? It could be a short meet just to say hi and get acquainted so we know we each other if meet around the ship?Maybe at the Promenade lounge or the 7th aft deck? We can set the details as we get closer and see some navigators from the 10 nights so we do not conflict times with anything going on.

A "meet" sounds like a nice idea. I have not participated in one before. Is it customary to do it on embarcation day or on the 1st sea day. I guess since we are not sailing until late people plans for the 18th will vary. I keep debating if we will get off the ship after we board to do more touring....but the more i think about it I probably won't. We will be so excited to be aboard the MAGIC.

That is so funny that two people from the same cruise won on the same day. Congrats to Dan as well

I know I am wondering what to do about laundry. I might have to bite the bullet and send some shorts/ dresses out but maybe just throw on one wash of undies, tees and socks? hmmmm not sure.

I agree embarkation day is too crazy and tiring. I think the first sea day would work out best.

Susan- a meet is usually just a time we set and "meet" casually. Some groups do loot, tees, etc but we are a small group compared to others so we can make it casual and informal, just drinks in the lounge, or on the quiet "secret" 7th aft deck!

We are definitely doing laundry...we did it last time and it worked out fine. Lori - I thought we were meeting up on day one.....just casually....I'm going to see Susan on the plane to Barcelona....

DD will be so excited to see the pool that even if we wanted to do anything else, I doubt we'd be able to! Gives us time to see the lay of the land (ship ) and then just relax!

Hopefully there is a store near the dock. I will have to add corkscrew to the packing list because I would like to get some bottles of wine from Italy and France to drink while on the cruise.

I just sent the hotel an email. They have "laundry services" but go no further in what that exactly means. I'll let you know...

I read on a blog, there is a reasonably priced liquor store at the port. Kim, room 8100 does imbibe...LOL....my kids will probably want to do the pool...we don't need to get the lay of the land...we've been on the ship before....I don't think I'll be able to get them off the ship to go see any more of Barcelona on embarkation day. But we're there the whole day before, although I can see sleeping being a big thing that day and the whole day after. We'll just get on the on again off again bus and do the whirlwind tour.

No I didn't. We don't arrive in Barcelona until Tues night, our flight lands at 8PM. I don't think I"ll have time to do wash there. I don't want to waste time with wash the first day, or the first sea day. With so few washers on board, I don't want to fight to get one to get my 2/3 loads done. I think sending it out might be easier......

I think they'll be fine...they got what they wanted for their birthday and are quite happy. I brought in munchkins for their snack too.

I know this is our first trip where I think we will have to do laundry.

A meet for the first sea day would be a great idea. The only activity that i have seen on the Navigators for the 1st sea day is the members celebration for dvc. I 'm not sure how many people that imapcts. Also I think there are people who are doing palo brunch that day as well....Yes we are a small group I wonder why. This cruise seems to have sold well - surprised there are not more active disboard members chatting. Even some on the roster have not been heard from in a long while. I wonder if they are coming?

Which Keens did you have that hurt your feet. I had read so many reviews on Zappos that raved about them that they had me convinced to buy.

I was going to say we can do it in my room, like we originally talked about, but at that point it was just me, you and Kim. I think there are too many of us now to fit. It's a big room, but I don't think we'll be comfortable with more than 12 people, it's just not that spacious...it's not the walt suite...now if we should get upgraded to that...we can talk....pipedreams.....

That is good to know that there is a liquor store at the port. My thoughts are also to do the on/off bus that Tuesday when we arrive in Barcelona so on Wednesday I'm sure we will be ready to enjoy the ship.

Just was watching the Today show. They are doing half the show in Cannes because the fim festival starts today. Seeing them in the south of france got me so excited. I wonder if any cruisers will venture there while in Villefrance. The movie festival will go on for 12 days. That would be really cool.
