oops sorry. I hope she had a great birthday. What a super way to spend the day. What show are you seeing? My dd is very into theater and loves going to Broadway shows. Have an awesome time.:cool1::cool1:

Kim,
Spanish wine sounds terrific. When do you arrive in Barcelona?

Which Keens did you have that hurt your feet. I had read so many reviews on Zappos that raved about them that they had me convinced to buy.

We arrive the evening of the 16th.

I own 3 pair of keens. The sandals are the style that have more straps....the Newport style, I think. I worse these for a year and a half before I randomly got blisters. They're very comfortable, I'm now just wary...and wearing them often to build up any calluses that need to form. I also have a pair of the Mary Jane style and a pair of boots that I wear nearly all winter long. Oh, and a pair of hiking boots that I don't wear as often (don't hike much due to some back issues). As you can see, I have a bit of a Keen problem. I need a 12-step program, I think....:rotfl:

I've seen it on Broadway 3 times...it's still one of my favorites...enjoy!!!!

Some day.....I've never been to NY. Saw Phantom in San Francisco War Memorial Opera House. It's a historical site so they cannot renovate it. Can you say 2 women's restroom stalls on the upper level? Yup, that's it. I think that's why all those old fashioned women "swooned". Dehydration so that they never had to use the restroom.

I don't know what keens are, but I think I'm going to get the sketchers shape ups in black. They seem to be very comfortable, they will help my posture and perhaps work on strengthing my leg muscles. I know that the europeans don't generally wear work out shoes outside the gym, but with all the walking we're going to do, why take the chance of blisters at the beginning...it would make the rest of the trip miserable. I know we don't want to look like tourists, but the sad fact is, we are, so we should do what's the most comfortable for us.

well you'll have to come out here some time for a visit...we'll take you and show you all the highlight NYC has to offer.

There are a few women at work who have those shoes, and just make sure you break them in...not for the feet necessarily....apparently they actually can give your glutes quite a workout! ;)

That's what they told me at the store. They said to wear them for 45 minutes the first day, 2 hours the second, 3 hours the third and work your way up.

Mindy I am going to try these too!

I might not wear them everyday on the ship but I can wera them in the days leading up to try and get my legs in shape (although I may need more than just sandals:rotfl:)!

I have a pair of shape ups, they're GREAT!!!! I walk about 1 1/2 mi every day in them and so far so good!!!!!

The show was AWESOME as usual.

Well, the proof has been finally released. Our cruise isn't booking very well. Cat 12's are now being offered on our cruise. 4k for 4 people in a stateroom. WOW!!!! We briefly thought about canceling our room, but with the cancellation fee since we're now passed PIF, loss of OBC's, having an inside stateroom.... Not worth it anymore. I would have done it before PIF, oh well.... I'll enjoy my veranda a little less now....... Darren says it's unfair they just released them now, I tell him it's so thats those of us already booked can't switch without penalty. It's a good move on their part, but I'm mad!!!!

Lori - How did you find that out? It doesn't surprise me, that's what they did to the people on the other cruises. The discount didn't come out until everyone was PIF. That should be good for those in lower categories...because that usually means an upgrade so that they can sell the cheaper cabins.

I check daily to see if cat 4 has been taken out of GTY status. I just try to book our cruise on DCL.com and saw cat 12 available today. I didn't check yesterday, so it's possible it came out yesterday.

Dan and I are in a category 8 (oceanview on the 6th floor I think). I hope we might be offered an upgrade to a verandah for a small price. Do they do this?

Usually when they upgrade you, it's for free....but actually when you get to port, you should ask if there are upgrades...they're usually much cheaper than upgrading in advance..

We're in a 9. I'd love a verandah, but I'll live without one....maybe some pixie dust will come our way! :wizard:
