August 18, 2010...Can't wait for the MAGICal Mediterranean!!!

Shopping list is mostly soft toys - Simba (apparently different from her others!), Stitch (this one is only a DCL one) and if there is enough a Donald Duck!!! Heavens, her room is full of them already!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sounds just like Elizabeth, I think we have more Minnie Mouse soft toys than Disney:-) Although it probably doesn't help that I'm just as bad as she is:-) At least the ship is American prices and not Disneyland Paris ones, otherwise she'd be lucky to manage just Simba :yay::yay:

I agree prices are good on the ship. She would like a jessie doll for her birthday. £32 in Disney shop. Wonder if they are less on the ship?

I love dresses....wish I had some! I have seen so many women wearing cute summer dresses rather than shorts/tops this summer and it is a little bit more "polished" outfit while still casual. Just think, you would only have 1 piece of clothing for each outfit instead of 2 and you may be able to roll up or squish dresses in your suitcase better than shorts or capris.

I think that it's a very smart plan:thumbsup2

Shawn

See you get it. I don't know what my husband is thinking:laughing:

I never thought I'd ever hear anyone say prices are good on the ship. I never thought of it from your perspective, of course they are, they're all in US$'s which for people of most countries a bargain. It's just us folks from the US that get to pay more. :scared1:

I need to find my magnets from last cruise, they're somewhere... I'm going to make a few new ones as well.... I have to see if any need to be reprinted.....

I found my magnets from the last cruise on Thursday. Of all places, they were at work! I'll use some of them but I already have a powerpoint presentaiton full of images to print for this cruise. I'll probably go overboard! (no pun intended!) As for the magnetic paper, I purchased mine through e-bay. Pricey, but worth it!

Ok, i'm going to point out a simple trick....

On a hanger while the shower is going???? Anyone other than me rely on that?

Hi Kim - I'll be bringing the wrinkle remove with me, but I also sometimes rely on the shower to steam out the wrinkles!

Shawn,

Which ones did you want? What did you want them to say??

I can try and edit the set I have....

Hi Erin,

Hoping for the DCL name tag that says What Will You Celebrate?
one with Brian, one with Shawn and one with James each with Stuttgart, Germany below name...or the DCL name tag with Where Dreams Come True.

I saw them on the Tom's Custom Name Tags thread.

Thanks!
Shawn

Hi Mindy,

Just to give you an indication, then you can feel really lucky about your prices:-). Things in your disney store are usually about 1/3 cheaper than ours in England:-) Prices in Disneyland Paris really are :scared1::scared1: There, you're talking around $100 for a disney Princess dress and around $40 for a medium plush soft toy. Burger, fries and a drink of dubious quality are around $15 per person. I paid $10 on the ship last time for a Minnie set that I paid $30 for in Paris. So the prices on the ship are amazing for us, it's a good job the shops only carry a limited range otherwise it really would be lethal:-) Am planning to do some Christmas shopping onboard this time rather than leaving it until the pre Christmas trip to Paris, it will save me a fortune:-)

Hi Kate,

They didn't have the Jessie dolls when we were there in May but if they do have them my guess is they'd be much cheaper than at home. Ours cost me a small fortune, it was one of only 3 things Elizabeth asked for last Christmas and I couldn't find one in England for love nor money, I ended up buying one from Amazon.com for $60. That said, it was probably worth it - it is definately much loved and gets taken more or less everywhere:-)

Hi

Well the FE list is closed, I have done a list, deck by deck, with a little plan showing the location of the cabins, on an Excel spreadsheet. How interesting was that to see where everyone is - Some of the cabins are HUGE, I really feel like the poor church mouse, way down on Deck 1!!!

I have some email addresses already and will send the list out tomorrow, I just want to check that it prints out OK, as I can't use the printer at the moment - it is after midnight and it may wake up dd!!!!

Having received several PM's, the decision was not to have a set day for deliveries and leave it up to individuals. Because of the port intensive trip, it may well be that we get several gifts on the sea days. (I can cope with that!!!). Maybe if you are not doing a big trip on a port day, you could think about delivering yours then, rather than a sea day - it may just even it out a little.

I think we know that Lori's are going to be on the first day!:thumbsup2, so maybe try and avoid that one if you can, but really just deliver when you wish.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. If you need the list in another format, let me know and I will try and convert it, but this is new laptop and I still have a lot of stuff to download to get to where I was on my old machine!!!:surfweb:

Kate

I meant to tell everyone that DH talked with the Concierge last week and our CM on our cruise is Peter....I'm a big Brent fan....don't know much about Peter, but appparently Brent is on vacation, although his wife Yolande is supposed to be in the dining room.

Kate you rock! That is awesome....I am fine with a casual FE. I was hoping it would be that way because of the crazy schedules! Thanks for organizing!

I know what you mean...I've only experienced Brent since he was the cD on my other Disney Cruise....Christian was he ACD and I loved him too...but Christian is permanently on the Wonder. We were there right before he went on leave...his wife was pregnant and due at anytime...Brent is the head CD on the magic...I would think he'd stay on for all the med cruises...I haven't heard great things about Peter...haven't heard bad...just haven't heard

That'll be interesting then. We loved Brent too, mum and I kept joking that we thought he had been cloned, because he seemed to be around whichever corner we went round:-) Not long now until we find out:-)

My kids are going to be crushed, they LOVE Brent, so do I!!!! We're going to miss him!!!!!

We have always had Christaan as CD. He even came to a friends "bridal party" in the Promenade Lounge one night on our first cruise!
NOt really worried about Peter - were are not onboard enough.

I will be working on the Journals today - everyone who has contributed has done a great job - great information.

Had a nightmare this morning... We were in the cruise terminal and MISSED the cruise!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1: So much for sleeping in.

Wonder if Peter is American? British? Aussie? or what...
