August 17, 2013 - A Fantasy Cruise to Paradise

Oh, thank you for understanding !
We have now at home so much to do before we start, I have no time for this.

Naturally we will come to meet you all, it's also a good training for my girls to speak English :lmao::rolleyes1

Two years ago on the Magic ist was so recreative, so we will do the same way. A little bit new countries, a little bit eating :lmao: and a little bit chilling..

O I forgot geocaching :rolleyes1.

How old are your girls ?

Greets
Michaela

I totally understand you not participating in the FE. Traveling with all that luggage is extremely cumbersome. I am glad we are on Jet Blue and can take one suitcase each otherwise this wouldn't work for us either.

Thank you Dizneeat for all your hard work organizing all of this!! I look forward to meeting everyone and having fun filling the FE's!!

The boys will be so excited once they find out they are going on this cruise! Hoping to get a video camera before the 16th when they get the Mickey Mouse call!!

:cool1:pixiedust:

Dizneeat,
Thank you so much for organizing this and getting everything together! It is a lot of work and we really appreciate it. See you in a few weeks!
:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I hope my name explains my cluelessness! I looked on the DCL site and of course there it is! Room # 10162. I was expecting an email from them. Anyway, thank you all for your patience :)

Thanks dizneeat for all your hard work! I don't see any messages in my inbox--how did you try to contact me? I haven't yet posted 10 times so I can't send pm's...

Our first time too...but I too was disappointed that Disney did not send an e-mail notification that we had a room #. They sent me 3 to tell me that the time to schedule port experiences was approaching...:rotfl2:

This is our first cruise as well!!! I opted not to do the exchange as well because it would be so overwhelming!! We can still go to the dismeet, right?!? My dd 12 (going to be 13 on cruise) is looking forward to meeting others her age and going to Edge!

Absolutely! See you there!

Dizneet, thank you so much for putting together the Fish Extender program for all of us. This will surely make our vacation so much more enjoyable.
With sincere gratitude...
Now if you can help me shed a few extra pounds by August 14th that would ROCK!!!

You are so very welcome! I love putting the FE lists together - keeps me focused on the cruise over the time between two cruises. ;)

About those extra few pounds, ....... well, I could need some help myself! :rotfl2:

I did send out group PMs a little while back and I now went back and checked and low and behold you are on my list. Unfortunately I made a mistake in your DISname and some other DISer is now wondering why he was invited to the FE.
I am truely sorry, and glad you caught it when you did! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for your kind words.
See ya pretty soon. :goodvibes

There was a slight change in the FE list!!!!!

DVCNuts added a person to one of the staterooms. :thumbsup2

Hello!,

We are so glad you are joining us for the meeting Michaela and family!!. My husband Rob is fluent in German and my kids speak just a bit so maybe they can practice their German as well. I keep asking my husband to find and assignment in Germany or Austria for a few years. Rob DS turns 13 on the trip but will definitely be in the Edge so it will be nice to have him meet some folks before he goes.

Fellow FEers: I'm getting ready to make my FE holder and would like to know if It would be ok to make it with just one family pocket? Would it confuse anyone if I don't have a pocket for each family member? Also, how important is it that names (first names, Disboard name or initials) be on the holder? Do you use the names to cross-reference with the info on the FE list when delivering? Thanks in advance for any insight you can share!

Hi,

We are using one pocket no names (4 people). :thumbsup2

The only reason I personalize is to deter theft.

Is it common to give a gift a day to each person on our list? my list has 70 people in it which mean approximately 395 gifts. Can someone clarify?
Thanks!

No problem here at all! :thumbsup2
We have one with two pockets, but not personalized other than it sports our "national costumes". :rotfl2:
To us, as long as there IS a FE going with a special stateroom number, we assume it is the right one. ;)
Just don't forget a ziptie (and scissers to cut them off again) to secure your FE.

I think, giving 7 days a week is a bit much.
We ourselves will give twice. Once at the beginning of the cruise (2 or maybe 3 small little gifts for everyone in the stateroom - number depends on if we will finish it all in time or not and one family gift) and one towards the second part of the cruise (1 more elaborate gift for everyone in the stateroom)

But to be honest, it is all in your hands. Do what you feel comfortable with. There are no rules on handing out gifts, other than you should give at least one gift to each stateroom. :goodvibes

Thank you for the input! How does one secure the FE with a ziptie? All the pictures I've seen show the FE hangers with a dowel/rod at the top and ribbon tied on both ends of rod. Then the ribbon is just hanging over the Fish/Seahorse. Is there something else there on the wall where you connect a ziptie and then attach to rod on FE hanger? Sorry to be so clueless on this!

Okay, bear with me and take note that English is not my first language, so this might not be very technically correct. :rotfl2:
Ours has the dowel with the ribbon as well. What we do is pull the ribbon over the fish (seahorse). There is a little hook inside that keeps it down (you have to fiddle it over it when you remove it). Then we use a ziptie to tie the two ribbon parts together and push the tied part under the fish.
Someone who would want to take it, would have to cut off the FE with scissors and I don't think many people carry some. ;)

We plan to give everything at one time - on one day. We are making bags for each stateroom. Each bag will contain at least one item per person in the stateroom and perhaps one or two other items.

Sounds good to me. ;) Maybe we should just remind everyone towards the cruise that, so they don't all hand out their gifts on the first day or two. :thumbsup2
