August 17, 2013 - A Fantasy Cruise to Paradise

Our pre-cruise itinerary will be a stay at the Disney Broad walk Villa's since our group is big (27) we have 7 rooms reserved. We will be visiting either Epcot or Hollywoods Studios since they are walking distance. On Saturday we have a private bus picking us up to take us to the ship.

Okay, here's the plan. DISmeet, August 17, 3:15 pm in the Bon Voyage lounge adjacent to the atrium on Deck 3. I will bring name tags.
I will go now and make 27 more for you gang, Nilda!

Just finished reading through all of the posts. Glad there were only 18 pages.

Dizneeat I pm'd you our information although I think our room number is 6096.

For those interested in gifts from Shirley I did it for my 2 boys (15 and 12 at the time). I was a little nervous as they are older but Shirley helped my select some items and the kids loved it. They really do a great job and will work with you.

Looks like we are the fourth family from NoVA and the third with roots in Winnipeg. Interesting coincidences.

I added you to the FE list! Thanks for the information.
And I wanted to add that we did see some of Shirley's gifts and they look really awesome. :thumbsup2

Hi, my family and I are sailing on the Fantasy 17th August, (6th sailing) and have stumbled upon this site & fish extenders.
We are from Cornwall in the UK and would love to join the FE list we are in staterooms 8558 & 8560.

Travelling is me, Laura, husband Richard and daughters Amelia 16 & Emma 14.

The girls are making our FE with Beauty & the Beast representing me & Richard, we will let you decide who's who !! And Alice in Wonderland for Amelia & Tangled for Emma.

We intend to bring lots of UK sweets and Cornish goodies for our fellow FE's

Looking forward to meeting you :sail:

Laura

I added you to the FE list as well! How nice to see fellow Europeans on that cruise.
Just for your information ....... I loved to read that you intend to bring UK sweets. Yummy! I have family near London and they send "care packages" with tea and sweets. :cloud9:

Hello all! We will be on this cruise, too. Hubby, DD 11 and myself along with another family. First Disney cruise. We previously cruised to Alaska on Royal Caribbean. We are on the 11th deck. Looking forward to it!

:welcome:
I am sure you are going to enjoy your first Disney cruise! They are so much fun. :goodvibes

I was wondering if people have decided on what they are doing before and after the cruise as well as during it. We are trying to look in to new things that might be fun.

Our vacation is pretty much all set. We'll leave here Aug 7, stay at WDW for three days, then go on the first leg of our back to back cruise on the 10th. We'll disembark with all of you and go back to WDW for another 4 nights, then head to Key West for 5 nights and back to WDW for another 5 nights. Both, the eastern and western Caribbean itineraries are new to us, so I really need to look into what we will do during the cruise.
Guess, as we get closer there will be a lot of talk about excursions here. ;)

We just changed rooms to 7678. I gave up the verandah for a higher room number and extra spending money. My DH thinks I should have a direct line to Disney because I have been calling daily to make travel changes.

I think we will stay for 2 nights at a resort (maybe go to a park- my kids don't seem to care what we do) and then after the cruise my husband wants to drive a Ferrari (there goes my spending money)

I just noticed the change in stateroom number and changed it on the list. :thumbsup2
You are very brave, I could never give up my veranda. :lmao: In 2009 we went on our "once in a lifetime" cruise and wanted to go "all out" with a veranda and everything. By day 2 we were rebooked and I am hooked on the veranda rooms. :lmao:
How fun that your husband wants to drive a Ferrari! Those laps at the speedway must be so much fun. :goodvibes

Please add my info to the Fish Extender participant List webpage

On a different note - I finally got my diploma 2 weeks ago and just found out I passed my national exams!!!!!! Graduate school is really really really over!!! And I never want to go back to school again!!!!!! (well at least remind me I said that when if I mention going back to school again.)

Leslie, I added you to the FE list. I cannot wait to cruise with you again. It was so much fun last time.

Congratulations on getting your diploma! It is so hard to study and have a family to look after. :thumbsup2 :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Hi people,

Just checking in to the thread as it's been months since I subscribed and joined the FE list. We are in full on planning mode and have brainstormed FE gift ideas this weekend.

Getting excited now as this is a huge surprise for our kids ;)

Welcome back! :goodvibes
I am just starting to get into planning mode, even though I really should start to make my mind up, our booking window opens April 19! :scared1:

Wow, to the captains meet up, thank you Lady Leslie for the info. Will you be there? Hope to meet lots of new people and make some wonderful friends :)
We are busy doing our fish extenders, keeps the kids busy its half term here so they are off for the week.

Before we come on holiday I get the girls to make 'shoe box' money boxes that they decorate Disney style and they earn their dollars by chores for their spending money, That way we all win, I have a tidy house and the girls have money :cheer2:

See you all soon

Laura

They always have a reception for Gold and Platinum Castaway Cay Members. They are a lot of fun. Free drinks and fingerfood ...... and small talk with officers and the captain. ;) :thumbsup2

I love your idea that your girls earn their own money for the trip! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to our first cruise together (we had each cruised once before we met). My in-laws are taking the whole family on this cruise (9 of us all together), so very excited! I'm obsessed now with reading posts on what is going on and things to do on the ship. Have to remember I need to RELAX on vacation though!

:welcome:
How fun that your whole family is cruising together. That must be so much fun. :thumbsup2

You really are travelling with a BIG group! 27 people ...... must be hard to plan for so many. :goodvibes

Okay, here's the plan. DISmeet, August 17, 3:15 pm in the Bon Voyage lounge adjacent to the atrium on Deck 3. I will bring name tags.

3:15 should work out nicely. We had our DISmeet on the DREAM at 3pm and we never made it, as we had gone to the DVC meet before.
I cannot wait to meet you all. :goodvibes

Excellent.......we will be there! (We were hoping a DISmeet would occur!)

So you have a 26 day Disney vacation? Please adopt me!! :lmao:

Well, actually it is a 33 day vacation. :rotfl2: You might have missed that we are taking TWO cruises back to back.
But that's nothing out of the ordinary for us, as we usually travel for 4 to 6 weeks due to the enormous airfare from Europe in the summer. ;)

Anyone have any suggestions for what to do for an anniversary celebration. I would like to go out somewhere nice (my kids will be joining us so romance is irrelevant). Just want to find something to do. I have read through countless restaurant reviews and just get confused.

On the ship or at WDW?

We have only had a veranda once and tend to just get the deluxe inside stateroom. A window for us is a treat but only because my kids can sit in it. The larger family room sounds best (more space) but in reality we find that we spend so little time in our room that it does not matter much to us. If we weren't traveling with kids we may use the veranda more.

I'm not sure if it will be open again by then, but have you thought about California Grill?

Just checked and I can't make reservations so I am not sure if it is open or not. It may already be booked. What about the restaurants at grand floridian?

It's currently under renovation and they do not accept reservations at this point.
As for the GF, we have been to Narcoossee's and were not impressed at all. I know that V&A is awesome, but you cannot bring your kids.
We have not been to Citricos, so I cannot comment on that.

Have you ever thought about the Yachtsman Steakhouse? If you like a good steak, it's the place to go to. The truffle mac and cheese are out of this world.

And what about BlueZoo? We really enjoyed it there. Not sure if it is on the DDP though.

Victoria and Alberts is FABULOUS. Nominated for a James Beard award. Same executive chef as Remy. Very expensive, but totally worth it in my opinion.

I will look at both. We are not doing the DP as we are not going to be at the parks (this is our third or fourth trip to WDW and my kids keep saying no to the parks so we just hang out). I looked at V&A but I am not taking the kids there as they would not appreciate it at all and would just be a waste of money.

I just looked up your boys ages and I guess they would like Yachtsman. I had the filet last time and it was fork tender - sooooooo good.
