Welcome new Cruise Meet friends!

The deadline for the FE was July 17 but I am open to accept these families into the group if others agree. The more the merrier :wave2:

We did this last summer. There were 4 of us (2 families of 2). I don't remember the exact dollar amounts, but I know that each family paid exactly 1/2 of what it would cost if we did it through Disney. In other words, it cost us what it would if we only paid for 2 people through Disney. We even took the DCL bus back to the ship, we happened to walk out front when the Disney bus was boarding & since we had our DCL lanyards on, we blended right in. I even used AAA discount to book the Comfort Inn (which I don't have). We took a water taxi over (like $2 each), then a short walk to Comfort Inn & then checked in & out at the same time (this is key to save time!) We received our wristbands there & then a short walk to Atlantis. The desk person at the Comfort Inn told me that over 50% of their bookings are people who never even step into the room! They have quite the racquet going on there!!! We did book months in advance though, so I would look into it asap.

Hope this helps!!!

Thank you!! This was very helpful. I am going to check it out.

Hi
I am currently out of town, but I will happily add you to the FE list when I get home.
KEE er

Hi,
I know I am late; I just joined Disboards last night. I would really LOVE to participate in the Fish Extender program. Please! Please! Please! Can you add our family to the list?
Thanks,
Tracey

Let me know what I need to do to convince you to add us too.

HI,
Has anyone ever brought their own beer or wine? I know there is a certain size carry-on bag required for alcohol to be brought onto the ship. I was thinking about bringing maybe some beer or some wine. Any advice???
Tracey

Hi again,
My daughters think they might "die" without their cell phones. I read somewhere that we will have Wave phones? is this correct? Can anyone tell me more about this? Should I look into my cell phone contract to see if I can add on minutes for cruise purposes?
Please Help??

I haven't brought beer but I do bring wine. We also bring a small bottle of vodka and rum.

Mmmmmm...Great Idea! I think I will try that too. My husband likes to have a glass of bourbon once in awhile. Maybe I will bring a small bottle for him to enjoy on the trip.

Did you ever buy alcohol in the Bahamas and bring it back to the ship?

I think the Wave phone is only for use on the ship. I have used my cell to check on my family and it was expensive so I kept the calls short.

If I remember correctly, when my DH bought a bottle in Nassau, they collected it at the ship and delivered it to us at the end of the cruise.

Someone on the thread mentioned that they buy the little bottles instead so they could bring a variety. I think we are going to do that instead of a small bottle of vodka. The last time we went, we had extra that we left for the CM. I also saw that Costco has 1.5 liter boxed wine. I may just buy and try it. I prefer to bring a boxed wine then a bottle.

Wow! The boards are really full of activity! I was away for a few days and wow! So much updating to do, and so many Word With Friends games to catch up on. The pressures of summer holidays!!!:)

I have updated the cruiser list and fish extender list. Please do check for accuracy. TMelchiorre - you are in!

Let's consider the FE extender closed now.
Please make sure names and ages are correct in case any keen crafter is personalizing their items. If there are any changes to cabins aboard, leave a post it note on our cabin door so your FE treats will arrive at the correct cabin.

In the unlikley event that we are bumped to a suite with veranda by chance, I will leave a post it on the doors of FoxFam5 and Fatima1922 to redirect the messaging to our new door.

Happy FE planning.

I will be travelling with three teen boys (14. 15, 16) and we have signed up for the Atlantis day. They have been signed up for the teen beach at castaway cay as well. Any other teens doing the same?

I read that kids should go to the clubs the first night as friendships are facilitated easily that night as everyone is new, so that is our plan.

We lock the cell phones in the safe the first night on all holidays. Somehow, the teens survive. There is internet available. This will be the first time that they may be interested in checking Facebook?

Anyone packed yet?

Thank you for your consideration and for adding us to the FE list!! Whew! We just made it.
How do I sign my teens up for the teen beach?

Also remember we will be in Orlando, they can use their phones. As for packing, I haven't but I have laid out the clothes to figure out what We should take. I need to pick up some odds and ends.

Formal night is a range of very casual to very formal - decide what u and ur family is comfortable with and go from there... My daughter loves dressing up - i detest it - so we are wearing black dresses w/ silver trim hers has chiffon mine is cotton / lycra ... Just remember its suppose to be fun

So im confused help me out - we can bring a bottle of rum from nyc and drink it on the boat but not from nassau??

Hi
We signed up for the teen beach on the website. It is in the excursion list with the other castaway cay activities.
I have a little black dress for formal night. The boys will wear button down shirts, tie and jacket, dress pants.
For semi formal they leave off the tie, for reg dinner, the jacket is left behind. I wear casual dresses that are comfy, alternating one or two, changing accessories. We try to travel light...
