August 17, 2012 Magic in NYC!

One week, that is 7 days until we board:woohoo::yay::cheer2::banana:[/QUOTE

I just saw the Magic!!!!! It's in NYC ready for the two night cruise today...

I have only been to castaway cay once in 2007 so I know they've made lots of renovations. Anyone know how much shade is there now?Lots of umbrellas or a select few? We didn't do a cabana. Just deciding if I pack my beach umbrella or not!

Still seems like the same amount of shade since 2007. We have cruise every year since 2005, and only missed going to Castaway three times, twice on West Coast cruises and once in 2010 on East coast. The added more chairs umbrellas since the bigger ships. I can say you won't need a umbrella, do they even let you bring one? don't know where you'd put it lol, I have in my mind big umbrella:rotfl2:

fyi found this on another thread

Last week the movies shown on the 8 day itinerary in the Buena Vista theater were: Avengers, Toy Story 3, Brave, Chimpanzee, People Like Us, The Muppets, Tangled and Real Steal. (Some of the showings were 3D and these were listed in the Navigator.) There were also older movies shown on the screen outside the pool. There were also movies shown inside the stateroom. A schedule was left in the room showing which movies were being shown on which channel and at which times. Two of these movies included The Vow and Moneyball. There is a thread at the top of the forum DIS DCL FAQ New Alphabetical Listing of DCL Information. If you click on that, you will see a number listed for Movies. I called that number prior to the cruise and asked a representative what movies were being shown on my cruise and she told me all of them. Have fun!

We are coming. Anyone know how I find out who is particpating in the fish extender gift exchange or how I get myself on the list?

Keever-we are in! This is our first Disney cruise. My daughters birthday in on our Castaway day. Making our extenders now? How do I know where to give them out to?

Please count us in for FE! Unfortunately my friend & her son can no longer join us (school in OH starts on 8/20), so as of now, it will just be me (Tricia) & DS 12 (Gavin). We are in cabin 7638. Thanks!
Please count us in! I know that we are incredibly late but this is our first Disney cruise. Our daughters 11th birthday is on the 21st and she is super excited! We are in room 2086. Thanks gang for for understanding!

thanks jenny
my wife and I (46) and daughters (12) and (5) are super excited.

cheers,
Chapmanfam!

Hi
Wow! Lots more interest in the fish extenders.
I do believe there are enough for a second group.
I will make a second list for all those that are interested.
Just post or PM me your cabin numbers and participants. I will make a new page on the website below.
For newbies, there is info posted on the site below about the FE process. (and door decor as well)
If there are any cruisers in the original fish extender group than have FE items to share with a second group, just let me know that you will be participating with group two as well.
Let me know.

DEFINITELY! I'm not sure what all the initials stand for but it is me, Jenny, the mom, my hubby John, and the birthday girl, Madelin, who will be 11 on the 21st. Cabin 2086. We will be the ones with all the dance magnets!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for responding and understanding us newbies. I know that we missed the first list of fish extender gift giving, but be on the lookout for our mickey mouse washer necklaces anyway. Washers.....$10. Spray paint.....$5. Ribbon and beads.....$6. Teaching my 11-year old life lessons about preparedness and the spirit of giving.....PRICELESS!:teacher:

Hi Jenny,

We are on the original FE but I have asked Keever to add me to the second list. We are Fatima, Kenny and Amaya -5. We are in cabin 2072 - just a few doors down from you!

I'm not doing the FE this cruise, but hope you'll be coming to the meet in the promenade lounge at 3:00pm on Friday

Does anyone know if the Singles Lunches (that I see listed in Navigators from a June NY-Bahamas cruise) are mostly for the younger crowd or if they also attract a more mature crowd as well ? I'm cruising with kids and grandkids and a little more adult company will probably be very welcome as we get into the cruise a little!

Our boarding time is set for 3:00, so hopefully I can come up for a quick hello!

Wow, that's pretty late for boarding time. Will you be eating lunch on the ship? I don't think I could handle getting onboard that late
