August 17, 2010 - From Keys to shining Cay.

The system actually work well tonight. Got the Palo reservations we wanted. I didn't know that they did High Tea on the Wonder - but they are. So our 18 year old daughter will be Palo'ed out on this cruise.

Ken P.

Glad to hear it!

We were way down on page 3 - that just isn't right.

Ken

No, it completely is not. :p

Can I ask which day is the Palo Brunch? I still don't have my cruise paid in full, so it will be a while until I can book, but would love to know when it is.

Susie, maybe we should introduce the guys? It was hard finding college aged kids on the boat in December.

What is everyone thinking of doing for shore excursions? I swear, if I never see Nassau again, it will be too soon. I've run out of fun things to do there. LOL

Palo bunch was available on Key West day and the sea day. We picked Key West day because we aren't scheduled to get into Key West until noon or so. High Tea was also offered on the sea day.

I wanted to introduce myself and my family..we've just signed on for this cruise. It was a last minute decision and we are thrilled. We are DVC members and decided to use our pts to cruise (this is the 1st time we've used pts for a cruise). Myself, my husband and my 2 children, DD who is 14 and DS who is 11 will all be cruising with you guys.
I can't believe how small this cruise thread is. Will we have an entire ship to ourselves? - lol!
SAILINGSEAS - I told my DD that you also have a 14 yr old daughter and she is thrilled. She would like to connect before the cruise if possible.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Welcome aboard. We are sailing on points also. While it would be great if we were the only people on the ship, I don't think that is likely. :confused3

This is a response from an email inquiry I sent:

4/22/10

Hello Valerie,

Semi- Formal night is on Sea day 08-19-2010

Pirates Night is on 08-20-2010

We are not sure as far as the cooking demonstration... every cruise is different in regards to activities and hours.

Wine, Beer and Martini tasting are usually held on days at sea.

Hope this answers your question... :)

We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical day!

There doesn't seem to be very many Disers on this cruise! Is anyone traveling with young kids? Our kids will be 6, 5 and 5yo.

I'm not missing out on a fish extender list somewhere, am I?

Valerie

Hi all! This is my first post on the Dis boards. (I'm a long time member of another board.) I'll be on this cruise too... our very first Disney cruise. It'll be me, DH, DS 15, and DD 10. Thanks for all of the great information that you all post!

Welcome to the disboards! It should be a fun cruise - to bad it's only 5 nights!!!

Great idea about introducing the guys! On our other cruises, there have not been many college age kids on board, either.
As for Nassau, we are thinking about doing the harbor tour this time.:sail: We have done the city tour before, and we have also been to Atlantis. We will probably try to hit one of the shops to get a T-shirt or two.

I am traveling with my 13 year old daughter. We are doing a few back to backs. We did a few last year in August on the Magic and will try it again on the Wonder this August. We had a great time.

We are pretty excited. I have not booked any Palo ressies as of yet, hoping to book once I get onboard.

Have you seen the cigar factory?

No, we have not seen it , but it sounds interesting.

I usually take a walk over there. It isn't far from the ship and it is free. We usually tip the cigar makers a few dollars to take photos of them rolling the cigars. Interesting place. I hear they have a beautiful wine cellar if you want to buy wine, not sure if there is a charge for that or not.

Lun, yes, let's do that. My son was wonderful on the December cruise; he and I had quite a bit of downtime together, but hey, it's tough hanging with Mom all the time. Especially in Key West. I think he wants to go on the canoeing adventure and I'm not sure where my daughter wants to go. He CERTAINLY doesn't want to go to the Hemingway home, which i'm dying to go to and pretend that I am improving literary skills by osmosis. (more likely picking up defective DNA from the multi-toed cats. Will warn you though, he's painfully shy. My son, not the cats.)

On the flip side of the coin, my daughter is not. Pixie and Gal, that would be wunnnerful if the girls could meet in advance, and get twittering or tweaking or booking or whatever it is that they do to get overpacked and overstimulated before the cruise. Maybe your daughter can send a private message to mine and exchange emails? I'm a tad bit reluctant to post something so private on a public forum, unlike my willingness to post my kids shyness ratings.

Romi, I have not seen a fish extender list, but I completely nominate Ken to do it since it seems we lost our initial poster and he gets sad panda face when we slip to Page 2. Perhaps we can get a mod to post his list, or a note on the top post to Ken's Fishies wherever it lands? (love how I just totally passed the buck?) And if you introduce your little flock to my daughter, I am pretty sure she will think that she struck piles of happiness.

I am looking in to just grabbing a scooter rental from the docks in Key West, then hitting Captain Tony's at night, and the Hemingway museum. Nassau, I think i'm going to venture out of town on a private tour. I'd like to explore more of the island on one of the nature tours. Then hitting the straw market for an eyelet dress that i'm kicking myself for not buying in February. Castway Cay, just TRY and pry me from one of the cabanas. TRY it. Barring that, hitting the open air massages.

Of course, all this is a dream at the moment.

So excited to be joining all of you. My DH and I are suprising our DD (turning 4 on the cruise) with a cruise and taking my sister and her 2 kids (5 and 10) with us! We were planning on going in October but I just couldn't wait that long! We went on a 3 day cruise in Feb and it just wasn't enough:)

There are 6 of us in all!!!!!

Sorry - I'm just not much of a list maker. You sound like you would be perfect for the job!!!:worship::worship:

I'm great at the Rah Rah Pompoms bit, suck at keeping lists and dotting i's and t's, etc. Romi, would you be interested? Or anyone?
