Name for Our Cruise

I am going to take down the old poll today and put up a new poll with the top winners.

If I list all the names with 5 or more votes, that would be 4 names to select from.

If I list all the names with 3 or more votes, that would be 6 names to select from.

How many should I list? :goodvibes

Hi all!!! Welcome to all the "newcomers" (ROFL - over 600 days out!!) to our cruise:wave2:
Hope everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving!! We sure did. I love the smell of turkey, stuffing and homemade applesauce in the house. Yummm...

I've been busy cooking and cleaning for a few days so I have alot to catch up on! Here goes (and I know that I will forget something :rolleyes1)...

Jen, sorry you missed that one item. I just got home from my shopping (Toys R Us, Colonie Center Mall, Crossgates Mall, Michaels, Eddie Bauer...). Almost totally done - I have to go back to Toys R Us this weekend for one item for Tess - the salesclerk told me that they will restock on Saturday. Then I should be just about done!

Kristin - I think we are about 2 hours from CT. We're across the Hudson from Albany, not far from the MA border. If there's a party in August, count us in!

To my Cap District DISers - a winter barbecue? Sounds fun (bring your suits for the hot tub!!!) Let's figure out a date after the holidays...:santa:

Michele, I am glad that your turkey turned out all right - I missed alot of the comments going back and forth and I laughed like crazy when I started reading through them...

Hmansure - my DS is in Philly with my FIL to watch a college basketball tournament. Go Siena!!

I should be spending the rest of today taking down Thanksgiving decoraions and putting up my Christmas ones...but I'm going to take a nap instead! :rotfl2:
My high school reunion is tonight - thank God the bar will be dark!!!!

Oh great, another thing to vote on. My vote, put up 6. We're still hundreds of days away from the cruise. Just the usual suspects have been posting lately. We have lots of new families and some are on vacation. Give people plenty of time, what's the rush?!

7 hours of shopping! I'm soooo tired! Feet hurt! What was I thinking wearing 3" heels?! DD was such a trooper! Never complained! She's a chip off the old block! We got everything we went for, tons of stores and a great lunch with my BFF!

My shopping motto: cross a name off the list, buy a gift for me!

I'm home for a few minutes, but out and about since 4 am. If I quit moving I'm going to crash and burn!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny thing is there wasn't even much I really needed, just some stuff I wanted. Some stores we just wandered and didn't buy anything. It's fun though, call me twisted I enjoy it (except for about 60 seconds at 3:25 when the alarm went off...).

Hope everyone had a great holiday. My family volunteered at a homeless ministry in the morning. It was a great experience for all of us to help others in need and really made is feel especially greatful for all that we have. We have decided it will become an annual tradition for us.

With regards to shopping, I was very lucky and the one BF door buster item I wanted (a Sony Laptop for DD at Best Buy) went onsale at 5:30AM yesterday morning online and I was able to get it without fighting any crowds or camping out all night. She will be thrilled. Now I just need more ideas for DS. He hasnt hardly asked for anything this year. Anyone have any ideas for an 11-1/2 year old boy?

Hi all, Well, in an effort to avoid going out to a store at 3AM I stalked out Walmart online. Was able to get Rock Band, 2 sheet sets, and the GPS I wanted at 2:30 this morning. But, because I was up half the night waiting for it to become available online I only got about 3 hours or sleep. Soooo tired! I'm a girl who needs her 8 hours. Sad but true.

April

Glad, to hear that everyone had a GREAT day shopping!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I have not been around for a few days, do I dare to catch up, I think I won't bother.

Welcome to our new cruisers!

Happy belated Thanksgiving to my American Friends. Our thanksgiving was back in October, but I am hankering for some turkey now!!

Hope all is well!

Gina

Hey chickie, come on down, we have a fridge full of leftovers!!!

Jude - Glad you got what you needed. I missed out on the Nintendo DS for Ben. It was a great price but our Walmart was a huge disaster!

Kristin - I think we are about 2 hours from CT. We're across the Hudson from Albany, not far from the MA border. If there's a party in August, count us in!

We are serious about coming to the east coast to see all of you! I think we should plan something. :cool1:

My high school reunion is tonight - thank God the bar will be dark!!!!

I tried to do a little of both. I took down a few things and put up a few Christmas decorations. Today I have to finish so that the house doesn't look so confused!

How was the reunion?

Michele - I am not really in a rush...except that I know the next few weeks will be crazy! I have time to work on the website this weekend. :surfweb: I might change the poll up and then just leave it there for a couple of weeks to give everyone a chance to vote.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. My family volunteered at a homeless ministry in the morning. It was a great experience for all of us to help others in need and really made is feel especially greatful for all that we have. We have decided it will become an annual tradition for us.

Ginny - What a great tradition! :thumbsup2

April - You did what I should have done...Walmart online. The one big item I needed was the Nintendo DS and I could not get it. Our Walmart was crazy! You could barely move, no one knew where things were and we finally just left to escape the crushing crowds. I will now have to hope they go on sale again before Christmas.

Happy belated Thanksgiving to my American Friends. Our thanksgiving was back in October, but I am hankering for some turkey now!!

Gina - Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes! We also have tons of left overs...this is where I have to start getting a bit creative with what to do with all the turkey that is left. I think today I will put some of it in the crock pot and shred it up for some turkey sandwiches. Tomorrow I will be making turkey and rice soup! :rotfl:

Hey chickie, come on down, we have a fridge full of leftovers!!!

Erika - I decided to make WAY less food this year and I am glad I did. There is tons of left over turkey but thankfully everything else will be finished by today! I love the left overs but by the 3rd or 4th day I am ready for something new.

Hello fellow cruisers. Just thought I would check in.

We had a great Thanksgiving, the whole family (18) at the dinner table together. Lots o' eating, lots o' football and lots o' fun. :thumbsup2

Played the Wii (The new Super Mario Bros) game for hours... LOL... and if you heard screams for no apparent reason, :happytv: that would have been us shouting for joy :dance3: as we finally beat whatever bad guy we were going up against!!!!

DD and her family will still be here until Tuesday. We are planning on hitting Knotts Berry Farm amusement park on Monday for the Police/Fire special deal days thingy. :woohoo: DS and his family will be heading back to Arizona on Sunday.

It's all good out here in California. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi Randy, sounds like a great time! Say "HI" to Amber and the family from us!!!

Hello All.

Kristin - hoping you are enjoying your day in NYC.

Just decorating the house - wreaths are up, lights are getting finished, started to pull out some decorations.:santa: Even have the Christmas music playing.

Enjoy your day!

:tinker: Janeanne

Janeanne -

Sounds like a wonderful day! We have our tree up and decorated and I put up a few of the house decorations too. I also did all the Christmas cards this morning.

Now I have to correct papers and do some lesson planning...at least it will be done sitting by the tree! :santa:

Hope you have a peaceful rest of your day!
Jen

Didn't get much accomplished around the house today. DH didn't get home from NYC until late and he was exhausted.:sad1: The hardest part is keeping a 7 year old quiet while daddy sleeps. We'll try again tomorrow to get the tree up.

I did order some gifts online...

Mrs. Claus did a little shopping for Mr. Claus. Let's just say I went with the naughty list. We'll be opening those gifts in the bedroom :woohoo::woohoo:

Please help me stop shopping online. DD is with her father this weekend so i i've been shopping online... it's sooo addictive. (gotta stay off the budget board i think...)

Have you found good deals? Stop shopping and tell us about all you have found! :goodvibes

well...the "biggie" is the macbook: got a refurb for $750 plus a free printer...
then it needed a case so got that from amazon along with one of their "lightening deals" - Spa Science, then someone on the budget board said that 6pm had a flip for 50 bucks - and how cool would that be to go with the laptop since she wants to make her own web show? then i figured she needs clothes, and justice has the 40% off code, so spent 50 bucks there...
