I am so glad that everything ended well. How scary!! Kudos to your daughter!! She's a very brave girl!! Tell her that with time she will feel less and less scared and more proud of herself!! I would speak to the bus driver's boss. These are kids, our most precious and to have an attitude like that, he should be driving a garbage truck NOT a school bus!!

That's a good point, she was so weepy today. This is so out of character for her, she's such a strong outgoing child. Hopefully in a few days she'll be back to her old self. We can't leave the room without her.

Oh, trust me I had the bus driver, his boss, his boss, and the NYS transportation director for schools all in a meeting! I don't mess around! LOL!

The only thing the bus driver will be driving is Santa's sleigh. He's GONE!

I'm so happy your daughter was home safe and sound. What is wrong with these bus drivers!!?? I am not a bus driver, but hello common sense tells you NOT to drop off a child if the child tells you this is not my stop. Bring them back to school and call their parents. OMG! Glad to hear your story had a happy ending. Laurie

The nail in the driver's coffin, the school has a policy. No child k thru 2 is to be left off at a bus stop without a parent there to meet them. If an adult is not present the child is returned to school.

Michele, I'm glad everything turned out OK! Tell your DD, "Good Job!" It looks like the bus driver could've called the school and verified that he was dropping her off at the right place. These days everyone has cell phones.

Kristin, Have a great trip! :cool1::cool1:
That's cool that your friend was on our cruise and works for DCL and got a promotion. How long has she worked for them? I think that would be a cool job.

Was that policy already in place when this happened? Guess he didn't know the rules!

OMG, Michele. That's scary stuff. I'm glad it all turned out good. Good for you for going at them full force! :thumbsup2

Thanks,

She has worked for them for a while over 10 years...This last promotion was soo good for her. Can't wait to see her!!

No policy like that here... just drop 'em and leave! We've resorted to picking up our kids from school for the most part. Glad everything worked out for you though - very scary.

I have been picking up my girls this year too, and dropping them off in the am too it is just so much more peace of mind for me!!

By all means, you can share the story! Our school is holding an assembly k-2 to go over safety with all students. It's a lesson every kid should be reminded of, and parents too. Never hurts to have a plan. One problem, I asked Mikayla why she didn't call us... duh... we don't have house phones, only cells. We're thinking about getting her a cell, my luck she'll lose it in 10 minutes.

Michele - I am just catching up from the past days...very scary for your family! I just wanted to tell you that we got a pay as you go cell phone for DS when he was 7. I thought for sure he would lose it...but he didn't. He still has it and he has used it several times to call us for very good reasons. There were a couple of times when he first got it that he called and worried me for NO REASON :confused3 but overall, I am really glad that he had it. It made us feel so much better knowing that he could reach us AND that we could call him. Find her a backpack with a special small pocket to hold her cell phone and you both will feel so much better! :thumbsup2

I was just looking at our website this morning...I know I still have some things to post for people and I promise to get to it this upcoming weekend as it has been a very busy week!

Just wanted to remind people that I have put up the new poll for voting on our cruise name. I created a new poll that has the top names from our first round. At this point, 16 people have voted...I am hoping we get more soon.

Only 621 days to go! :lmao:

Good Afternoon Everyone....

We are almost ready to go. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2:cool1::banana::cool1:
