:welcome: aboard to all the newcomers!

sdchickie- I hope your DS gets better quickkly and nobody else in the house gets sick!

Jen-I hope you are feeling better. Congrats on the running and wieght loss! almost 20 pounds!:cool1::cool1: I too could stand to lose some weight, but for me eating healthy is the hardest part. I go to the gym and workout, but I've been slack on doing cardio lately. I like to walk, but I don't like to run! I need to get motivated and start eating better. Keep up the good work.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone. I'm new to this group - we just booked our 4C cabin this week. My DH and 2 of my DDs (7 and 10) are all really excited about the cruise.

I had to join in on the marathon discussion. Last month, I registered for my first race - I'm doing the Wine and Dine in October, but I'm running it as a relay with a friend. Its still up in the air who is running the 5 miles and who is running the 8 mile leg. I went from the couch to running 2 1/2 miles 4 days a week in 6 weeks. Last weekend, for my long run, I ran 3.6 miles. I highly recommend the book running for mortals. There are great training plans in the book, as well as some very no nonsense tips.

Happy to be a part of the group!

Welcomd aboard!!!!

And wow, I am so impressed by all the runners! That is awesome!!! Eating is my downfall, I love to eat, and eat junk. I try to keep up on my elliptical, it doesn't always work. Running was never a good fit for me though, and I envy those who can. A few years ago I did something to my ankle right before we went to Disney and it spent the whole trip blowing up like a grapefruit and ended up wrapped for a few weeks after I got home. I have not been able to walk on my treadmill since. So bravo to you runners, I think it's great!
We were in Epcot the day of the race during the F&W last year, and saw all the t-shirts from the runners all day long.

Have a good day everyone, back in the deep freeze here for a couple of days!

Was it really packed at the parks during this time? We will be down there during the wine and dine one this year and was wondering how much the races impact the parks.

It was a Sunday I think, the crowds were not too horrible. They are always busy during F&W but that day was manageable. It was also Columbus Day weekend this past year. The crowds the following Saturday were much much worse, almost impossible to even walk the world showcase.

No school here today...........It snowed here a little bit but the roads are really slippery today!!

Hello! I just sent you a PM with information to access our website! Hope you enjoy it!

How cool that we have another runner in our group! I just finished reading the book "Marathoning for Mortals" - another great book! I did not use any of the training plans in the book though...I am using the Couch to 5K program on my iPod. I am up to week 7 and can now run 25 minutes at a good pace without any problems! I can't wait to hear about your experience with the Wine & Dine this October!!!

The website is great! My DDs and I checked it out last night. They were really interested in seeing the ages of the other kids who will be onboard. We'll be creating our family's page within the next couple of weeks! And my DDs want me to create an email account for them so they can start chatting with the other kids on email. That request has to get past dad though, who is a tougher sell!

The dates are released...the weekend will be March 4-6th. I am assuming that Paul and I will fly to WDW late on the 3rd and stay until the evening of the 7th. It could change slightly because of flights but that would be our goal.

I hope you and Bruce can plan a weekend with us all and join in the fun of the race weekend!
Jen, what site are you finding the info? I can only find nformation about 2010..although we all know how computer-challenged I am!! :lmao: I was wondering what the "host" hotels are...I don't want to have to take a taxi to the start!!

Jen's website is awesome!! :worship::worship: Once we get closer to the cruise my kids will start emailing...(DD will be "almost 12" <==her words! and DS will be 16...)

I received my Castaway Club Compass Magazine in the mail today:banana:

But since we hang out on this board, everything that they are sharing is old news:thumbsup2

Joe
Joe, what is this? We haven't received one but this will only be our third cruise...

We had an AWESOME snow day here! I went sledding with the kids for a little while this morning, shovelled the walkway, cleaned the pantry, fridge, and microwave, washed the kitchen floor, and edited a transcript from a hearing this past weekend. It has been a productive day!!!:cheer2:

The Magazine has about 10 pages to it and it describes the new kids experience programs, the makeover of Castaway Cay, the Disney Villains Show, details about the Disney Dream and info about the Magic in the Med.

On the shipping address it states that I am a Silver Castaway along with my name and address.

Joe

I am feeling much better today! Eating healthy is so hard. I have to plan all my food out for the whole day and then for the whole week - recording it all. If I don't do that, I am not do so great with staying on track. I am hoping that recording every little bit that touches my lips will help me get over the 20 pound mark.

And wow, I am so impressed by all the runners! That is awesome!!! Eating is my downfall, I love to eat, and eat junk.

Erika - I love to eat too! Tonight I went to Chili's with a bunch of friends and I had to make a sign for me and my girlfriend who is doing Weight Watchers with me to wear....

Yep...we wore them the whole time and didn't order a single margarita!

BTW - hate the cold weather that is back! YUCK!

How much snow did you get? Did you enjoy your day off with the girls?

Glad you like the site. I plan to add a bunch more but I really need them to tell us more about the cruise. Can't wait to get the information for your family page!

Also new pictures of the adult pool have been posted. My barstool is the one on the far left.

You should have seen people looking at us as we wore the signs paperclipped to the front of our shirts. :lmao: We love margaritas but swore we would not have them this week to help with our weight loss.

We actually did an inside recess day today because even the kids did not want to go outside. I am hoping for the warmer temperatures to return soon! :sunny:
