August 16, 2011, Disney Dream - Part 4

Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are the 3 most expensive times to sail so if you haven't commited to the Turkey Day cruise I would recommend a sooner than later approach. Just my 2 cents... :goodvibes

I have a hold on the Thanksgivng Day Cruise just have to decide by Saturday for a deposit. I also have a deposit on a cruise in early October so have to decide one or the other!!:confused3:confused3

Deborah,

I too am so glad to hear that your daughter is better. How frightening for all of you. Thank you for posting an update, we have had you in our thoughts and prayers since that day.

Karen

Glad you were able to cancel the CD order. I wish concierges had been a bit more helpful in pulling all of my photos for me.

Glad that you enjoyed WDW!!

I didn't use them for photos but they were helpful in adding the Van Beeks to our Palo Brunch reservation which and getting Palo to deliver 6 soufles to the stateroom. Steve, Dan, and I were with the girls so we didn't experience but apparently the girls enjoyed their dessert and peace and quiet. :rotfl2: The trade off was that later we got to go to 687.

We sailed over Thanksgiving in 2005 and enjoyed it, especially since the ship was decorated for Christmas. My guess is sailing with Beth, Steve, Hope and Skye will tip the scale toward Turkey Day. :thumbsup2

I did find Concierges to be better on the Magic.

They were helpful in getting Jen to Palo's Brunch too!! But they could still not figure out how to get my seating for our dining squared away!! DCL will be getting a nice letter from us in regards to that. It was very upsetting for my family that we could not be seated with my parents. My girls were so upset that they could not sit with my parents!!

We would love to see the ship all decorated. Sailing with the Van Beeks is an added bonus.:):thumbsup2 Hoping, to get a few others to sail with us too!!

Really, enjoyed meeting everyone!!

I had the opposite problem. I had asked my former TA (notice I now say former) to not link our staterooms with my family since we had originally booked the vacation with 2 other families. I even went to the D lounge to try to get the tables at least separated but in the same serving station, but they wouldn't do it. We ended up with two tables, one of adults (9) and one for all the kids (11). It was fine, but it's always hard to have a conversation at big tables with anyone but whom you're seated next to. I never even knew what the kids ordered each night with the exception of Mickey bars for the kids table.

Our servers were good, but the asst server kept apologizing. I'm sure it was just a language barrier, he should have been saying "excuse me" but all he said was "so sorry, so sorry". Nothing to apologize for. Our Head Server was Raul from Brazil. He did stop at our table each night to say hello and ask how we were doing but did nothing as far as our food/meals/service was concerned. Usually we have a lot of interaction with them due to my DS food allergies but he didn't do a thing for us. We were also celebrating two actual birthdays onboard. They didn't acknowledge the adult one at all and the kid one they brought an individual chocolate dessert with Happy Birthday stamped in chocolate. My friend had asked about ordering a cake for the table and she wasn't even given the option to buy one (this was two days in advance of her birthday).

That's sad...Where were your parents seated?

We were on that cruise too! The holiday cruises are really at a premium. I think I paid at least $2000 more for a Cat 6 (and we booked about 18 months out). That cruise had a great group too, a lot of fun chats before meeting.

As part of Kristins seating fiasco, imagine my surprise when we boarded and looked at our KTTW cards to find dh and ds at a table on the other side of the dining room from dd and myself!

The Brunch was great!! Thanks Jeff for pulling some strings to squeeze us in. Only wish that Dan and Kim could have joined us too. And my oh my, having six souffles arrive and be quickly consumed as a group of women chatted around the Roy Suite dining room table will always be a super special chocolate memory of mine. No Dooney bags purchased by me on this trip because Missy and I never made it to the shops together. I have a feeling we'll have an opportunity to do so on another cruise. So glad we will see you on the 2-day!

Miss all of you so much. Will send pics when Steve gets done editing them!

Yep, dd and I were at a table with Jen and her family and ds and dh were somewhere else. We got it fixed, but it was pretty absurd :rotfl2:. We had to get a totally new table as we were originally at a 6 top table.

I am a bit shocked... My TA emailed me about the deposit today and I went onto the disney site to see where the room was, etc that we were given since we also just dropped the card off and the cruise price is 1600 more today then when I booked! crazy.... we are booking a dummy of Christmas 2012 in the MR waiting to see what comes out for 2013... would love to see the Baltics or Med or Australia :)

When are you going to WDW? We are going the week between Christmas and New Years! I can't wait!:) Good luck with your ADR's!
Good Luck with being an Avon Rep!

We should all book an Aug. 2013 cruise on the Fantasy!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the good luck!

We'll be at BLT Dec. 21 - 28.

So funny you said that, I became a Thirty one rep before the cruise now I can Disney it up even more and I love all the totes and purses :banana::banana: And may I add, good luck to you

Thank you! I'm excited about the new venture! DH not so much because he's afraid I'll spend it all...:rotfl:

We also had Nondu - and I agree, she was great. She got our servers moving a bit after we spoke to her, but she had to step in a couple of times and help them out as well. What table number were you guys at?

We were at table 29, great table in RP, but not so great in all the other resturants. What table did you guys get?

Were you all in the early dining? We were in table 20. Like you, we thought it was a nice location in the RP. But, didn't really like the other locations.

We've done that week a couple of times, it's super busy but as long as you do rope drop it's ok. I would suggest going to MK on the 30th for New Years and then do Epcot for the 31st. They do the same fireworks show on both the 30th and 31st at MK.

Looks, like we might be stuck in Orlando a bit longer due to the Hurricane!!:scared1::scared1:

I could think of a worst place to be stranded! ;)

Was there an extra charge for Palo orders in Concierge or was it just tip like regular room service?

We were in early dining we had RAEER as our rotation. So the first night we were thinking wow our table is great then we went to dinner the second night and found out, not so much.
