Are you going to Universal? We will be there the 12th-15th!!

Yes, we will be at CIS by Universal from the 13th - 16th. We fly into MCO around 10:30 Saturday morning. We should be checked in at CIS and heading over to Universal by the afternoon. We will be going back both Sunday and Monday.

For those of us Pre-cruise at Vero Beach....did we finalize a meet and greet?? Just curious!

Off to work. On call and called in once again today! That= many more Konk Koolers that I can now afford!! That is how I look at each hour, one frozen frosty umbrella drink at a time!! Makes the days go faster!!LOL!!

DH and I went on a jog this morning, and DH ended up hurting his OTHER ankle! Its not nearly as bad before though, so hopefully he'll be back on it in a couple of days...

My wife was telling me that she read somewhere that Bahamian vendors don't take cash, only credit cards. I am not sure if she meant the entire island or at Paradise Island where we are going. Anyone else hear of something like this?

We paid by CC in most shops - but I am pretty sure that DGH paid cash at the Straw market ( love that straw BEACH-BAG with my initials on it ... added in front of us !!! ) and also in a sort of pharmacy .
Not sure about Paradise Island...

Evening Everyone! One more day of leadership training done and one more to go. Tonight is my last night of homework and as interesting as it is....I am looking forward to having some vacation days again! My class is using a textbook titled: "Self-Theories - Essays in Social Psychology" as we talk about how people work and what that means in education. Again, interesting but I am close to being burnt out on long days of heavy thinking!

Do NOT work too hard !!!

I feel SO GOOD since I'm no more "thinking" about education and such ...

I was unsure about going thru a TA when we did our 1st cruise, but, after contacting Carol, I realized how beneficial she is. We get more onboard credit by going through her which is one nice incentive. An example of Carol's work -- I emailed her yesterday about my concerns with DH's back pain and asking about wheelchairs - whether available on ship or any nearby vendors for rental? That was my question to her. About 15 minutes later, I got an email back from her stating she had contacted DCL and told them about DH and it is noted on our reservation. All we need to do is go to the pursers desk upon boarding. It's those kinds of little things that have come in so handy.

Okay....I just have to say that we finished assembling our FE gifts. I am so thankful that we are flying SW since it took TWO BIG suitcases to pack it all up!

We're arriving on the 13th, but I'm not sure when yet. Depending on when we get in and get settled, we'll try to stop by.

Did I miss the plan for the embark day meet? With all the boarding time confusion, I'm not sure when we'll be on and organized. It's so much harder planning for 6 people instead of 2!

Below is a reply that I received from Disney re: port arrival times & what time the garage will open.

7/15/11

Dear Marsha,

Thank you for your e-mail.

Please also accept our genuine regret for any confusion or
disappointment. It is not our intent to upset our loyal Disney Cruise
Line Guests. Your concerns have been shared with the appropriate
management teams.

As you may know, effective August 2, 2011, there is going to be a change
to the operational hours of the cruise terminal in Port Canaveral.

In order to eliminate some of the wait Guests experience, the cruise
terminal and parking facility in Port Canaveral will both open at
11:00am instead of 10:30am.

Please be aware, this is not the time you will embark the ship. It is
only the time to arrive at the cruise terminal. Embarkation still begins
approximately 1:00pm.

Here is some information regarding the Port Arrival Time:

*You will be issued a boarding number for a boarding group at check-in.
*The boarding number is predetermined by the time selected in the Port
Arrival Time form.
*If you have not selected an arrival time online, you may be delayed
entry into the cruise terminal until Guests with assigned times are
accommodated.
*You will board the ship once the boarding number has been called.

We encourage our Guests to arrive as close to their scheduled time as
possible. If you arrive early, you may be asked to wait until your
scheduled time to enter the terminal. Guests arriving prior to 11:00am
will be encouraged to visit some of the area attractions in Port
Canaveral prior to opening.

If you are traveling with another party and have chosen two separate
Port Arrival times, it is recommended to arrive at the later time in
order to ensure the entire party can be accommodated.

We regret any disappointment and hope these concerns will not continue
to affect your regard for Disney. There is magic in the Disney name and
we anxiously anticipate sailing with you and your family on August 16th-
in just 32 days!

Evening everyone!! Thanks for sharing their response Marsha!! I guess we will have to see how the cruises before us report on how boarding is! One possitive things is that we are not the very first cruise with these new hours!
