Time for me to head to bed, I've got the plumber coming early in the morning to finish up my shower. :thumbsup2 Good night all!

What size packing cubes did everyone get? I have six now of the large ones and wondering if I should order the medium set before the sale is over!!

Yes, we were told to be back early, as we knew the hurrican was heading for St. Maarten so we needed to get the heck out of dodge.

I read the white top was see through, not really surprised. That is why I got the one without the bra, so she could wear it over her suit. Black seemed too hot and the blue didn't go with her suit at all.

LOL! I remember standing out on our balcany when the wind and rain started and we were watching all those poor people trying to run for cover and get on the ship as fast as they could!!

And they all came on bard looking like drowned rats :rotfl2:.

Hey Kristin, can you tell me a little about the itinerary changes? When and how did you find out? Did it ruin anything? Just curious!

I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to go to Tortola, but it all worked out fine. We got to double dip and had awesome weather on the whole cruise. The other cruise lines that didn't change had terrible weather from what I heard.

First cruise we missed St. Thomas and went to Nassau instead...We found out the day we returned from St. Marteen there was a note on our beds.

The second time our third cruise we knew there was a hurricane out there I had been tracking it on the computer. We found out when we checked in at the port. But they were still watching the storm so they told us when we checked in that the itinerary was going to change most likely to a Western but it had not be finalized. We went to CC first day, then we had to take a different route to avoid the storm and went by Cuba. First time ever DCL had done that route the crew was very excited. Then Grand Caymen, and Cozumel and then back to CC!! IT was so nice to get a DD!!

The DD was great!!!:thumbsup2

I got a plain white one too but it was one that was on clearance. Emily's has long sleeves and I really bought it to prevent burning while she is hanging out in her swim suit.

I was on the other hurricane cruise with Kristin! :rotfl2: We found out when we got to port that we were probably not going on our scheduled itinerary. It ended up being just fine because DCL did an incredible job of reorganizing everything quickly and we still had a great time!

It was a great cruise!!

You all better stop saying you were with me on a hurrican cruise. No one will want to sail with me again...LOL!!

Kristin, we'll just have to hope nothing happens this time, although I don't think anyone would mind missing Nassau!!!
I ordered the three of the 3 piece set of the cubes. I hope they work. The small one is small and the medium isn't that bigh either. I may have to order some more....maybe large?

Trying to catch up with 10 pages ;):):thumbsup2 since I last was online ... YESTERDAY !!!!

Question about the FE's - are we delivering them on certain days based on the group?
Janeanne

I would like to let each of us choose in what day he/she can deliver !! NEW SHIP !! SO MUCH TO EXPLORE !!! :dance3:
DGH and I would wish to deliver asap ... it is a short cruise !!!
but we will be very happy also in the case we get our FEs on the very last day !!!

we're renting DVC points and staying at AKL Savannah View. Great deal! Can't believe that DH agreed. :cool1: DS11 doesn't know it but we were able to get ADR at BOMA for that night. That's his favorite WDW restaurant.

AKL is our favorite resort !!! LOVE Boma !! mmmmm those Zebra Domes !!!We'll be staying overthere for 2 weeks BEFORE cruise !!! :dance3:

I was going to check with our group and let everyone know I would like to pass my gifts out ASAP as it is something that I feel will be useful on the cruise (no more details!). :goodvibes
:thumbsup2 Sounds wonderful !!! :flower3:

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! The funny thing is that while at the hospital, I told DH that we were a very accident group. :goodvibes so, even I was thinking about this group. The surgery will tomorrow, so please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
I have been thinking of you lots !!!! I'm sure everything will go smooth !!! In no time :) you'll be dreaming of our cruise again !!! :lovestruc

My check in time still says 10:30-11:00 does that mean I can check in before the port opens???? :rotfl: Good thing because I plan on getting there at 6AM! :lmao:

All this thing isn't clear to me !! My online check-in still has 10.30 /11.00 and this is printed on our Signature thing , to show when you are checking in !!! :confused3:confused3:confused3
DGH has already booked a VERY EARLY pick up from AKL to port ; he says that he prefers to wait early in the morning ... :confused3 instead of being in a LONG line at midday !!!
 Does this make sense ??
:headache:

OFF to read more ... if ... server allows !!! :surfweb:

12 hours of meetings?!? That doesn't sound like an effective use of anyone's time?!
In fact I was in 5 different meetings during the day , the worse one being a  "discussion" with the Social Services people : :headache: aren't they supposed to HELP kids ?!!?!! Anyway I could get them to approve that this poor child with hard family issues STAYS WITH US IN OUR SCHOOL also next school year !!! The boy was waiting outside , I'm afraid he could have heard our ;) "fighting" ... but when I came out from the ...:lmao: debating ... he just gave me a huge big hug !!! I'm so happy he can be in our school again !!!

Hi,
I just checked my dcl and it still says 10.30-11 for my check in time . (Does it only show on your signature form of your online check in - or is it displayed somewhere else?)

As it stands I have towncar booked to pick us up at bwv at 9am we will get to the port around 10.

I have not received any communication from DCL about this - I would expect an email to inform me of this. The only reason I know about it is thanks to the wonderful dis.

Therefore I'm not changing anything regards to my plans - even if I have to sit on the pavement outside of the terminal.

I have a printed piece of paper saying my checkin is 10.30 so 10.30 it will be - I've waited long enough for this cruise:rolleyes1

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 SAME here !!
European minds think alike !! DGH and I plan on bringing refreshments and ice-cubes to keep us well under the Florida sun !!! :rotfl2:

Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. We have just heard that my mil is coming out of hospital today (only a week after the surgery, and 5 days earlier than expected)

We still have a long road a head of us but I can't thank everyone enough for the support they have shown.

I've even started beginning to think about our holiday again. ;)
:goodvibes:hug: SOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY to hear this news !!! We have been thinking of DMIL lots !! I'm glad also that Dave and you can relax some ... :cloud9: and DREAM again !!

Hello all!
We are home from AZ now!! We found a wedding dress for DD!! :woohoo:
I was very surprised it happened as quick as it did. We went into one store, she tried on 5 dresses, and she kept going back to the second one she tried on. :woohoo:She told me she didn't need to go to another store because that dress was the one. So we bought it, and she has to get it altered a little and she will be good to go. She also picked her veil out too!!
WOW !! Terrific news !!!
I'd love to see a pic of the wedding dress - if at all possible !!!
;) I am the one who always is crying at weddings ... :rotfl: all BUT MINE own !!!

I was on the other hurricane cruise with Kristin! :rotfl2: We found out when we got to port that we were probably not going on our scheduled itinerary. It ended up being just fine because DCL did an incredible job of reorganizing everything quickly and we still had a great time!

I was :rotfl2: with Kristin too !!!

You definately need insurance if I am sailing with you...LOL!! You might need Hurrican Insurance!!:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

OMG - I just remembered....we were on that cruise too!! I missed going to Tortola. :( ....and we were on the first unofficial 10 night cruise that went to Galveston......

Ginny

....and we were on the first unofficial 10 night cruise that went to Galveston......

Ginny

We were on the cruise before that, it was a special Eastern Caribbean itinerary that had stops at St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. I remember looking at the doppler radar map the ship posts and saw what turned out to be hurricane Frances forming. At the time I didn't know where we were in relation to the hurricane, but found out later it was following us home.

The August 28th cruise you were on was able to leave for its Western Caribbean itineray but on its way back had to "camp out" in Galveston while Frances ran across Florida. If I remember correctly you guys couldn't disembark at Port Canaveral, you wound up getting off at Port Everglades.

Just found these photos from the unofficial 10 night cruise thread - http://community.webshots.com/album/183535977toYppZ It's pictures of the Magic in Galveston, which I believe was the first time it went there. Now 7 years later it will be making regular stops.

So what's the plan with the stateroom tour? In the past the DISers would meet at the Promenade lounge. Last time we met quickly and them went to the Atrium for a quick group photo around 3ish before the mustard drill. Seems those first couple of hours will be busy. :thumbsup2

By the way, as I said before, Chuck Maida owner of A L L S E A S O N S Travel will be onboard. He typically likes to have an open house to meet his clientele in person and also invite "new friends" to his stateroom.

Since we have the Roy Suite I offered our room for this open house. I think he plans an hour or so event more than likely on the sea day. When we firm up the details I'll let you know. All are welcome.

We didn't run into a hurricane on our 1st DCL cruise, but we did hit some rough seas and were not able to stop at Grand Cayman. I was amazed at how fast they changed the itinerary and made plans for us to go to Key West the next day instead. New Navigators printed very quickly.

I was actually thrilled because my son had been sick and getting better before we cruised, so I was weaning him off of oral steroids, well the sea air loosend his lungs up nicely, but in turn made his cough horrible and I was running low on his medication!:scared1::scared1: But now we were heading to Florida 2 days earlier than planned. I was on the phone with his doctors office and had his medication called in to a pharmacy there!

You just have to take changes in stride. I believe everything happens for a reason, and the reason I have never seen Grand Cayman is because Brian nedded his meds! (not sure everyone else on my cruise was as happy!)

Did you end up ordering it all??

Yes and no! I went to our local sears store and they have a Landsend section, I got 2 suits and a pareo for me and 1 suit for DH there. They had 40% off which worked out cheaper than if I ordered it online. Then I came home and ordered the 2 cover-ups and bathing suits I couldn't get there online.

I need to really go thru al of our clothes and see what we really need. I like going away in August because all of the clothes are on sale. I usually buy bigger sizes for the kids so they have them for next season too.

OUR CABIN TOUR

The initial plan is
to meet at 2-2.30pm on the ship on deck 13 forward in the family zone.[/INDENT]This could be part of a general Dis group meet and greet if anyone is thinking of organizing one.

At 2.30p sharp we head off to tour the cabins which hopefully should be done in about an hour.

Those who are showing, would be the Disers who volunteered their cabins to viewed.
Those who are touring will be the tourists travelling to view the volunteered cabins.
Those who want to do both will come along on the tour to see the other cabins and when we reach their cabin hopefully they will open the door so we can see theirs also.

The lifeboat drill takes place at 4pm.

The sailaway party takes place at 4.30pm. You still have time to enjoy yourself.

Hopefully as long as we don't linger too long during our tour we should be done to give everyone enough time to meet back at their cabins to pick up the rest of their family for 4pm.

* Tshirts and such !!!!!

OUR cruise-group LOGO is the following :

cruise2-1.jpg

For high quality version of OUR LOGO (to be used on T-shirts or everywhere else you can think of ... note-pads , tote bag, cap …) please use the grafics in BigDogHU75 post , at the middle of the page at the link here below

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2480532&page=166

Or , if you are in a
mickeys_dreamers_i00001c.gif
mood, then use the grafics in DGH post, at the middle of the page at the link here below

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2480532&page=169

Of course you could make your own tshirts with transfers , OR ;););)

as per suggestion of mrebuck :

 if you are interested in ordering the CC5K shirt at ZAZZLE , here is the link:
http://www.zazzle.com/cr/design/pt-...true&pending=true&context=maleenal&view=front
If you are interested in ordering the cruise logo shirt, here is the link:
http://www.zazzle.com/cr/design/pt-...lone=true&pending=true&context=ben&view=front
As you will see, you can customize the shirts - adding text to the front or back. And you can select whatever color/style/sizes you need.
To get adult sizes, you need to select a different style. There's a hyperlink next to option 2 "Choose your style and color" that says "see all." If you click on it, it will bring up all of the styles - mens, womens, etc. The logo will be applied to whatever style you choose.
For the CC5K shirts, I used the Comic Pro font.

THANKYOU mrebuck !!!!!
