I'll probably be deciding what to wear 2 days before the cruise. lol

Oooh....that would NOT work for me! I have to start packing soon. Then I keep adding to the piles. Then I buy more because I am sure we don't have what we need. Then I hear what others are doing and buy even more because I am sure I am not going to have the right things. Then there is a sale for things I really wanted but didn't think I needed....do you see the trend here? This is why I totally over pack!

Jen, here's what we plan on bringing...
1. Pirate night: We all have whole pirate get ups, but we might not bring them because we are flying and I am already nervous that we won't have enough room even without the extra gaaarb.
2. Semi-Formal Night: Just wearing a dress not my floor length one, guys will be in polos and khakis.
3. Swim Cover-Up: I have a really great little black dress that is cotton that I can just throw on over my suit, the best part is that it can double for a dinner dress if I need it to.

We are flying as well but at least will be on SW so we all can have 2 checked bags. I keep telling myself we can pack everything because of this! Hopefully my new packing cubes will help! :rotfl2:

I am looking for a little dress for over my suit...I obviously need to look harder because all I am finding are wraps and I want something a bit more like yours.

Yes - I am here in Orlando, along with the heat, humidity, and heavy rain (just tonight).

It's a conference for Tim, so I am basically relegated to sitting around (which I really shouldn't complain about, eh?!).

Made it over to DTD this afternoon so I could pick up some gifts for the folks back home. Also, went over to OKW to see if they had any good DVC merchandise (they didn't) and had lunch there.

My brother is in VB and he said it is HOT and raining every afternoon/early evening.

Aww, did you eat at Olivia's? I like it there!!:):goodvibes

Stop tempting me with "the cubes".;)

Alright - it is time to talk about one of my favorite things....clothing for the cruise! :woohoo:

1. Pirate night: Who is dressing up? Normally we go all out but this year I am thinking about something more casual pirate. Then I think that I will regret it! :confused3 Share your plans for pirate night dress...are you going all out or have you decided to do casual pirate or do you skip dressing up all together?

2. Semi-Formal Night: I have said many times before how sad I am that there is no formal night. I think we will be going semi-formal but leaning towards formal. I want to look for floor length gowns for me and Emily but not big formal ones...again, long with a casual feel to them. I want DS and DH to be in nice clothes with a tie at least. Who has picked out their semi-formal outfits and what are you wearing?

3. Swim Cover-Up: Alright, after a couple of cruises I have finally learned that a swim cover-up is going to be a key piece of clothing. I am looking around but don't see a whole lot. I know I want something other then just a skirt wrap around thing. What do you do about hanging out in your swimwear? If you have a cover up, what does it look like and where did you find it?

Can't wait to hear what everyone is thinking! :goodvibes I love to dream about all the fun clothes I need to get for the cruise! For me, all the different outfits is part of the fun of the cruise!

Hi Jen,

1.The girls have gotten pirate costumes directly from WDW this time around. I ordered a really cute Minnie Mouse custom made shirt to wear on pirate night. Check this site out she has cute t-shirts..www.trenditotsboutique.com

2. I think I am going to wear a black cocktail dress.

3. Cover-ups. I will bring along a few little skirts, and sundresses to wear & use!!

Haha. yes it will. And that's what matters, right? I like clothes based on comfort, so I can really just get by with jeans and tshirts, and a sun dress and my favorite bathing suit. That is all :)

This is true. I'm all about the comfy clothes too. It's vacation.

An amazingly comprehensive trip report w/ tons of photos and a mind blowing review of Remy can be found here on the PassPorter boards.

My friend Cheryl is the author. She writes a ton of stuff for the PassPorter newsletter.

I almost want to try for a Remy reservation now! (But still can't rationalize the $150+)

Hi Kristin! How is your week going? It is actually pretty nice here this week and I might go hang out with some girlfriends tomorrow at the pool!

I saw the clothes on that web site...so cute! The girls will look adorable!

I am really struggling to find dresses this summer - both sundresses and summer semi-formal type ones. I keep saying a trip to the MOA is in order but I had better get at it.

My dh would say that we were twins separated at birth! ;)

  1. My son has a $7 pirate costume I picked up at Target just before Halloween, no idea what the rest of us will wear. Dh has his ears pierced so he may just go w/ a bandana and a larger hoop in his ear! pirate:
  2. I have two black, knee length dresses I purchased for weddings last year that I'm bringing for the cruise. One will be for semi-formal night and the other for my hopeful Palo reservation to be made once aboard.
  3. My suits are Land's End tankinis with swim shorts so a tshirt over the top is fine for me instead of a traditional coverup.

:rotfl: Seriously...I have the worse problems with packing! I would love to say I just was going to throw in a few comfortable and casual things to wear but I just can't! If you want to know what I will be doing for the next 48 days, it will be packing and rethinking my outfits and trying to fit more in. I think I need an intervention!

I LOVE Pirate night, and plan to go all out again! But our costumes are heavy in the luggage!!

Semi formal for us, leaving the suit coats and floor length gown behind.

Swim cover up, for the life of me, I cannot remember what I have for a cover up, but I better go look. My kids need new suits and swim shirts.

I was SO proud of myself. I was able to pack for my three day trip to Oregon w/ dd for my sister's graduation..in ONE rolling carry on suitcase and a backpack! (and we each had a small messenger bag)

I did it so we wouldn't have to check bags. We were both restricted to one extra pair of shoes and even had one extra outfit for each of us!

I'm not thinking I will be that good for our two week Florida trip! :rotfl2:

Question about the FE's - are we delivering them on certain days based on the group?

Janeanne

1. We may be the only ones NOT dressing up for pirate night.
2. We'll be semi-formal. I have 2 formal dresses that I really only wear on DCL. The fact that they don't really fit right now is kinda making me go semi-formal. :rolleyes1
3. I also have the LandsEnd tankinis with swim shorts. I did buy a cover up from Target a few week ago that I have yet to wear. It's just a cotton sleeveless dress thing. It's smocked around the top & plain on the bottom.

I just bought a bunch of tank tops from LandsEnd on sale. I figure I'll need cooler clothes for WDW & I had to stimulate the economy more (already bought dinner clothes and packing cubes). Now I'm on the hunt for a white cardigan & then I SHOULD be done.

:rotfl: This whole thing cracks me up! I had totally expected my responses to be from the female group but I love how you jump right in! :rotfl:

I think DH wants to go casual pirate (leaving the pirate hair/wig at home). I would like to go all out with pirate costumes but know that means we would need to buy new ones as the kids have grown. We will have to see.

DS and DH both will miss the whole tux thing - they looked GREAT on our last cruise.

Guess I might need to re-word the swim wear question for all the boys who might read into it...:rotfl2: Looking for ideas from the WOMEN on the cruise about what they wear over their swim wear while lounging around the decks. :lmao:

Too bad you couldn't hear the "voice" I was responding in!! :rotfl:

Was looking at some pirate stuff at DTD today - nothing really jumped out at me.

Actually the whole pirate thing is lost on us. We never got into the movies (saw the first one, didn't care for it) so we never dress for pirate night. Kinda hope, after 4 movies, that the pirate theme is close to the end of its run. :goodvibes

Yup - that weather trend is expected to last a couple of more days.

Yes - Olivia's :)

We're doing a dressed down pirate-matching t-shirts and shorts with accessories (wigs, hats, jewelry, scarves). We've done it both ways-full pirate costumes and the matching shirts route. I love all of our pictures. Hot Topic has POTC shirts on clearance 50% off plus buy one get one 50% so they're really cheap! Here we are from our 2009 cruise going the casual route but still looking festive URL=http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t94/gfolchick/?action=view&current=img290.jpg]

We're going semi-formal, nice dresses and the guys in slacks and button downs with ties.

Gotta go with Lands End...just ordered two new coverups. I live in my coverups on the cruises. They can take you from a sit down breakfast to the Art of Entertaining series or inside events and not feel sloppy or too casual. Lands End has been having some fantastic sales, 25% off everything plus free shipping. I'm sure they'll be another sale soon, it seems they've been weekly lately.
