Hypothetically they have no clue how old your kids are and will not ask unless the kid looks WAY older than the cut off age. But don't ask how I know this. Also, if you are doing free dining you can pay for the adult ticket for a child and get the adult meals for that child. That one the reservation agent told me about.



Agreed, Laura is so right. You only get one chance to heal and if it doesn't heal correctly you could be in pain the rest of your life. So take it easy out there! Look at it this way, at least you don't need surgery.

Helen, so sorry to hear that, it's hard to get excited about your vacation when there's so much else to think about. I will definately say a prayer for her.

I know the crutches seemed to have become my very best friend.
The thing is the more I try to walk on it the more it hurts!! UGH!!

Lying around I wish was an option but truthfully it is getting "old."

The girls were soo excited to get an email from her. They loved being on the Dream it is still something that they talk about. It truely was a once in a lifetime opportunity!!

Since I'm not allowed to get AP's any more (apparently 7 times in a year was too much for my hubby to handle) I have found the next cheapest thing, the YES program at Disney. If you have kids you can enroll them in an educational program for one of the mornings that you are there and everyone in the family gets discounted tickets. We saved over $200 on our tickets this time. We did one of the programs last Jan. and it was pretty cool, we got to go inside the Haunted Mansion ride behind the great room. If any of you haven't gotten your tickets for this trip they have programs that are around the time of our cruise still available.

Terri, Thanks for the tip as I had never heard of that program. I've enrolled Skye and Hope in the 5-8 yr old one on August 22nd at the MK on "How Things Move." Me thinks that a little education while having fun is always a good thing.

We saved a good amount of money on three day park hopper tickets for a family of four by doing this educational program for the kids. I'm very pleased about the whole thing!

I say it's never too early to pack! I've been making piles of stuff to put in the suitcase for months now. Plus I have my son's suitcase all packed except for his dress clothes Laurie

WOW! A suitcase packed already. Good for you. I have been putting stuff in a Disney bag so that I will remember to pack it.

I went to the doctor on Wed. and he said I would have been better off to have a clean break rather than a fracture. The tendions was not pulled off of the bone. But the tendions are not smooth but looks like a honeycomb it has all holes in it. He gave me three options one was to have him break it and wear a cast for a while. Another was to wear a big boot type of thing. Another, was a small cast on my ankle for a while. But the casts could not get wet.......The last option was to take this lace up contraption that athletes use. It looks like how the trainers used to tape up athlete's ankles before a sporting events.
I asked the dr. what he would do he said to try the lace up thing. No walking on it until I go back to him in two weeks. Then I will be able to try to walk on it using the crutches and then start physical therapy.

Honestly, the last two days in school have been really really tough. It is very swollen and I called the doctor again today. I am in such pain. The dr. wanted me to stop teaching. But I feel like since I am doing my friend a favor subbing for her class since she is on maternity leave I do not want to leave the kids they are only kindergartners. But on the other hand it is only a few days for them to have another teacher. I am in such pain by the end of the day. I am seriously considering going back and getting the cast.

I agree with what has been said. You have to take care of you so that your ankle is able to heal properly and quickly.

Ive been quiet this week, and will probably not have time to post much in the next few weeks. but I'll lurk. We had some bad news on Tuesday. Daves mum has been ill for a couple of years and the specialist said her treatment has not been working. We were told her only option is a major operation. We had to discuss whether it was worth it. Weighing up all risks etc . I think she has decided to have the op and the date we have is early July . Obviously this has a major impact on our holiday. If you are religious please could I ask that you send a prayer for her- I'll let you no when we receive the date the surgery is .

Normally when I get stressed I think and dream about my Disney holiday , although I can't do this at the moment.

Daves mum has been ill for a couple of years and the specialist said her treatment has not been working. We were told her only option is a major operation. We had to discuss whether it was worth it. Weighing up all risks etc . I think she has decided to have the op and the date we have is early July . Obviously this has a major impact on our holiday. If you are religious please could I ask that you send a prayer for her- I'll let you no when we receive the date the surgery is .

Normally when I get stressed I think and dream about my Disney holiday , although I can't do this at the moment.

Kristin, I'm sorry you've had to deal with this. I know that it is especially hard as a mom to not be on your feet. I hope that the pain goes away really soon and can find a way to rest your foot!!

DW does the parade float for the schools and the kids get to be in a parade, etc. Then there's like a fair - food, games, etc. Tonight we went to the movies - Hangover 2. Summer swim meets start next weekend so today was a fairly relaxing Saturday for us!

I completely agree with this! If I had to do my recovery all over again from my broken ankle surgery (I really wouldn't want to do it over again. LOL) I would have insisted on physical therapy, then maybe I wouldn't be in pain every day from this injury from over 5 years ago.
So Please do what you need to do to recover Kristin! It will take awhile, and it is not any fun, but if you don't, you might hurt yourself even more, and it might take even longer.

This morning I woke up and it is still really hurting. I am thinking I really need to stay off of it. TOnight, we are going out to dinner it is our 17th wedding anniversary!!

Kristin, sorry to hear that your ankle is still causing you so much pain! Try to stay off of it as muche as you can, so you'll get better by the cruise. When do you get out of school?

Good morning all, I just got my fire jumping picture in the mail from the Warrior Dash and I thought I would share.....

This is the proof that even old people can jump! One of the girls that raced with us did a cartwheel over the flames, but they didn't get the picture of her doing that.
