Depends on how you feel about "sharing" the water with these creatures!! I like the fact that at CC the rays come up on the feeding ramp.

It kind of "creeps" me out!! Are their stingers removed??

No luck with Palo Brunch!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been tying to book a Palo brunch since last week. It has constantly been unavailable. I believe the site only allows concierge and maybe the platinum members to book at present.

We did DCL stingray shore excursion in 2007. Their stinger were removed at that time.

Welcome Ellen:welcome:

I notice from your signature that you have stayed at Animal Kingdom Villas - Im interested to hear your experience there - as were are staying there after the cruise in Kidani village and I'm very excited about this.
Do you have any tips etc?
Thanks

We've stayed at all the DVC WDW sites.Kidani village has it's pro's and cons.
The main pro is that the 1 bedroom and up villas have a second full bathroom and an armchair sofa bed which is real comfy to sleep on. The pool is a mini water park and interesting for the kids and there is a beverage station there which is close by to refill your disney cups. The problem with Kidani is that there isn't much choice there for counter service food, except by the pool.
My biggest problem was the distance from the action at Jambo house. It's good walk and in the heat awful. When we stayed we must of had the room furthest from the Kidani lobby, at least 10 mins walk pulling suitcases over carpet was not pleasant even though they were carryon size. There are 2 savannas, the one facing Jambo house is the best I think since you can also see the giraffes.
I loved the food at Saana which is a sit down table service restaurant.
Parking is closer to your villa at Kidani compared to Jambo house where you have to walk across the parking lot and up the ramp/ steps to get back to your villa.

Are you conceirge? I checked in about 10 minutes later and got 11am. It would make me feel better to hear I couldnt get 10:30, rather than I just missed it (especially since people were getting the 11am arrival at 9am this morning, which means I wouldnt have had to get up).

We are Gold CC members I checked in about a week ago and the earliest check in time available then was 10.30-11.00am

Hi Everyone,

I have almost all of the FE info. updated. I hope to be able to get an email out to everyone who is partaking before the weekend. It looks like we will have two groups of 25 if that is ok with everyone!!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR DISNEY DREAM CABIN TOUR

Hi everyone we will be doing a Cabin Tour of the different categories and variations of cabins on our beautiful ship.

Volunteers are really needed to make this interesting tour work.

We need volunteers who don't mind showing off their cabins, and volunteers who would like to tour.

The tour is most likely to take place on embarkation day August 16th, while our cabins are new and clean and most of us haven't unpacked yet.

If you are willing to show your cabin please PM (Private Message) me with your category and cabin number so I can add it to the tour.
If you would like to just do the tour PM me your request so I can add you to the list.

I'll be including my cabin which I've dubbed a special cat. 6A, as long as Disney doesn't change it before we cruise. See the pictures below.

UPDATE
Thank you to those signing up for our cabin tour. To make this tour interesting we need as many volunteers to also show their cabins so that we can have a good selection to see including verandahs, concierge, family sized and bedroom suites.

We stayed in Kadani as well. I think it is great for a short stay, but I was sad to find that we were used to seeing the animals after being there all week. It wasn't as exciting after the first couple of days. We rented a car, so we were able to park just downstairs from our room, that was GREAT! We ate at Boma and that was so good with lots of interesting food, even my picky eaters were trying things they'd never heard of before. The rooms are dimly lit, which is not necessarily a bad thing. We get up early to hit the parks so the dim room was gentle on the eyes at that hour. I wish we had a chance to go to the pool at Jambo, but sadly we didn't have time. The pool at Kadani is nice and they had kids activities in the afternoon.

AK is our favorite DVC resort (Bay Lake is our home resort), is really cool with lots of activities (free) for the kids, the only thing I recommend is to stay at the Jambo House instead of the Kidani Villas, we like it better, DVC has a whole floor there but is also the main hotel, the restaurant/buffet BOMA is in Jambo otherwise is kind of a long walk under the hot Floridian sun, there is also more "life". You HAVE to try Boma either for breakfast or lunch...you are going to love it! Elcka

Thank you both for your insight.
I'm so looking forward to staying there. We booked dvc at the 7 month window and kidani was the only availability but we have a 1 bed. There is just dh and myself. We have dinner reservations for Boma the day we leave the ship. It will be our first time there. On our last night we have adr booked for Sanna - we ate there back in 2009 (our last visit to the states) and really loved it.

Hi guys - I was wondering when do you break for the summer is it soon? Sadly we dont break up till July 22nd:scared1: Work always gets crazy this time of year:headache: We go back September 5th.

At my university, our last day of finals is next Monday (though my last final is tomorrow!). We start back up the last day of August, I think. The regular schools (elementary, middle, and high schools) around here are on a different schedule though. They get out at the end of June and go back at the beginning of September.

We've stayed at AKL several times and have really enjoyed it. Kidani is very nice specially with the covered parking underneath. Although, we do prefer Jambo. We stayed in the Grand Villa at Jambo last year and it is was wonderful. AKL is a little removed from everything but in the end, I bet you'll like it.

School lets out here June 16th. I think there was a week delay because of the snow days they had. They go back to school Aug. 29th.

I'm happy to say that my daughter Amanda informed me I was reading the wrong report on Remy, so who else is doing Remy with me?

Anyone parasailing? I may do it. just a little chicken---well maybe a lot. My girls have parasailed before, but I'm thinking of it because on CC I feel I trust it more.

:firefight My DH is a Firefighter for the Miami Dade County Fire Rescue, and he likes to exchange station patches, please let me know if there is other "heroes" among us! it's always great to hear the different experiences in the different departments!!!!! Elcka

I come a family of Police officers...but many if my neighbors and great friends are NYFD. If your husband would like patches or t-shirts from the NYFD i can get them for him. Also, if he would like NYPD Emergency Service patches (my brother's unit) I could get those as well. I remember travelling with my Dad (NYPD ESU), he would have a bag of just patches and t-shirts to trade.

This rain is awful. The entire east coast is under one big rainy cloud

I am starting to feel like a duck! This weather is so bad! The kids are off the wall because they have not been able to go outside all week! Driving me to drink!!!:lmao: (I wish they were old enough to drive me home from drinking!!LOL!!)

:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

AKL is MY favorite resort ever !!
I could sit and watch animals for hours , every day brings new animals and fun !!
We always had rooms at Jambo house ; Boma ( but also Jiko !!) is just amazing , very creative but also "steak & potatoes" people will like it there !
Cast members are simply wonderful , they really seem to care about you and always go out of their way to make your stay an incredible one !

Even Mara is special ; it has many interesting food choices , even being a counter service , the African stew is terrific ...

We love to relax by the fireplace and to check all their artwork pieces ; some could be "museum" stuff ..............

and I could go on and on ... :rolleyes1

but HAVE TO WORK now !!!!

Ciao , laura

The end of the school year has been so hectic!! We still have four weeks left and have to finish class projects, school portfolios, and final exams!!!! :scared1:

And on top of all this craziness, I've completed the first week of P90X and it was intense!

Hope everyone is doing well! I will try to check in more often, but I don't know what "often" will be right now! :upsidedow
