Does anyone know where I may be able to find some trivia or facts about the Disney Dream? I am making a vacation countdown chain and wanted to add specific Disney Dream trivia.

Welcome Ellen:welcome:

I notice from your signature that you have stayed at Animal Kingdom Villas - Im interested to hear your experience there - as were are staying there after the cruise in Kidani village and I'm very excited about this.
Do you have any tips etc?
Thanks

We stayed in Kadani as well. I think it is great for a short stay, but I was sad to find that we were used to seeing the animals after being there all week. It wasn't as exciting after the first couple of days. We rented a car, so we were able to park just downstairs from our room, that was GREAT! We ate at Boma and that was so good with lots of interesting food, even my picky eaters were trying things they'd never heard of before. The rooms are dimly lit, which is not necessarily a bad thing. We get up early to hit the parks so the dim room was gentle on the eyes at that hour. I wish we had a chance to go to the pool at Jambo, but sadly we didn't have time. The pool at Kadani is nice and they had kids activities in the afternoon.

Here's a fact sheet, but they're not really fun facts... more detailed facts. http://www.disneycruisenews.com/AssetDetail.aspx?AssetId=3f7eb36d-ca36-43bb-9e2f-81652fee626a

Here are some fun facts:

I just Googled Disney Dream fun facts. :goodvibes

Has anyone on this thread sailed together before? Just curious

I was on the Tortola Treasure Seekers cruise (which turned into a Western Double Dip). On it were Jen Andersen, Kritter (Kristen), Jude, Elena, Allreds and Laura and Marco. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Now I'm going back to read 10 pages from today alone!!!!

Hey guys,
I haven't been on the meet boards in a while. But now that school is over and I have a cruise :cool1: to look forward to, I plan to visit alot.

Thanks renda460 for countdown chain idea and thanks Amanda132 for the 'facts' links. That will be a fun project.

Yes, see Gina's quote below!!:) Thanks Gina, I think you got everyone!!

All checked in...11-1130am check in time! I am so tired and I think I may have allergies! Never suffered from them in the past, so I am not sure if I am tired and run down or starting with allergies.

Me too! I just did checkin for one of my cabins, and got arrival of 11-11:30. Yeah, right :).

That seems to be the time we all got this morning! Maybe would should have a DIS-meet at 11am on the pier??

Well, it looks like a lot of us got the 11-11:30 time slot, but are planning to get there around 10-10:30! A meet would be fun!!!:yay:

Hi! Finally getting around to jumping on board this thread. I've been lurking for a while, and wow, I have not been able to read all the previous posts, so forgive me if I bring up something that has already been discussed. I guess we just missed out on the FE group, that was fun when we participated before. I totally understand planning a cutoff date though.

Our family includes me, DH, DS(11) and DS(7) This will be our fourth cruise and we are so excited.

I saw some marathons mentioned here. Any idea how many from the cruise meet are planning to participate in the 5K? It usually takes me about 33 minutes and I wondered if anyone had a similar pace. I'm afraid of getting left behind by the fast folks and getting lost.

Don't worry about being at the back of the pack for the 5k, I think I'm going to do it and I will probably walk it!!!!:rotfl::rotfl2:

Thanks, Gina! I was going to post that as well. It's hard to keep up with all of the action from the last 2 days! LOL!!!

Kristin has a countdown chain she got somewhere on here...she will email it to you if you want it! It's cute!

Holy Cow...This is crazy weather here on Long Island today. CRAZY RAIN! after the sun came out for while this afternoon, I thought it was going to be a sunny day :( NOT!

I'm not to thrilled about this, but we booked Remy's. It was my husbands doing, he really wants to go but I am dreading spending 3 hours at dinner...HELP!!!!! LOL

Welcome Ellen!!!!!

I really need a vacation! NOW!!!!!

We actually don't care for formal dining. We booked Palo dinner once just cause, but don't have any interest in doing it again.

Palo Brunch is a whole different experience. First you dress casual and there is more variety than you can possibly ever eat.

Remy looks nice, but I come to realize that we have never spent $75 per person on any dining experience. The reality is the $75 is a "discounted" rate since you can't eat at Remy without paying the cruise fare first.

What makes me laugh is how DCL states that "a nominal service fee will be charged: $75 per person". Seriously? Nominal?

Yeah, I know, this minor rant is coming from a guy who booked the Roy, but for some reason spending a lot of money on dining doesn't work for me. Oh well, to each their own.

I found one that has trivia, etc but they were geared toward that persons trip which was at Christmas, and was Disney World not the cruise. I wonder if it is the same one.

Thanks, for the insight. I was thinking I really would not like it!!

Depends on how you feel about "sharing" the water with these creatures!! I like the fact that at CC the rays come up on the feeding ramp.

Welcome aboard!!! My 5K race pace goes up as the temps & humidity rise!!! :rotfl: Most people look at this as a group run though - which is the way I plan on approaching it :)

We had something unexpected on checkin this morning. It said "Since your travel party is staying at a WDW resort you are not required to select an arrival time. You may arrive any time during embarkation and check in at your leisure." We are staying at the airport the night before, and Bay Lake after the cruise. Does that mean if we get to the bus checkin early we could be on one of the first buses headed for the port?

Hey Ellen, is there a firefighter in your party, my dh is and always set up a station patch exchange, let me know
xoxo Elcka

AK is our favorite DVC resort (Bay Lake is our home resort), is really cool with lots of activities (free) for the kids, the only thing I recommend is to stay at the Jambo House instead of the Kidani Villas, we like it better, DVC has a whole floor there but is also the main hotel, the restaurant/buffet BOMA is in Jambo otherwise is kind of a long walk under the hot Floridian sun, there is also more "life". You HAVE to try Boma either for breakfast or lunch...you are going to love it! Elcka

I have to agree on Palo brunch and Remy! exact same experience, dinner at the restaurants in the ship is fantastic, so why would I pay $75....!

:firefight My DH is a Firefighter for the Miami Dade County Fire Rescue, and he likes to exchange station patches, please let me know if there is other "heroes" among us! it's always great to hear the different experiences in the different departments!!!!! Elcka

We also received the 11-11:30am arrival but will be getting to the port closer to 10:15 with a private car service. I was able to get Palo for the 3rd night just liked I wanted but I was bummed because I couldn't reserve a table of 4. I am hoping that we can add our friends we are traveling with especially since she is currently recovering from brain surgery at the moment! I think she deserves a night out at Palo for her first cruise...don't ya think? ;)

I am so excited that we are now in the home stretch! Looking forward to putting my FE gifts together this week. :)

You will! Im in the same case, the other couple traveling with us havent pay in full yet, but from our other cruises I know that DCL reserves certain amount of reservations for the ones that dont use computer, and until now we have been able to book the brunch/dinner every time on board. Worst case, we have a reservation aswell for the 3rd night at 7:30 pm and will keep it for your friends since we have decided that we don't want to use it, the reason we made it at 7:30p is because sunset happen at that time! and the views from Palo are SPECTACULAR at sunset, later than that you just see the little lights and the reflecion of the inside of the restaurant in the windows. xoxo Elcka
