We'll be at the Poly through Friday after the cruise.
We'll be at Universal on the 14th and 15th. We're double booked at the Westin Imagine for both nights, and at the Royal Pacific on the 14th. We have reservations at the Residence Inn at the Port on the night of the 15th.
We've booked
DCL insurance twice, including one time I added it at the last minute on purpose thinking we might need the "cancel for any reason" coverage that it essentially offers. (The DCL insurance has a clause where if you buy the insurance, file a claim, and it's denied by the insurance carrier, DCL will apply your uncovered losses toward a future cruise. Most insurers only offer "cancel for any reason" coverage if you buy it within 2-3 weeks of the original cruise payment.) It is cheaper, and you can get more coverage by buying private insurance. (The DCL insurance only covers what you pay to DCL, so if you buy your own tickets, or include other charges in your trip outside of the cruise, it's not covered.) We're USAA members and I've had the best service and lowest prices purchasing
trip insurance through their relationship with Travel Insured. Even when I added the DCL insurance on our last trip, I had a private insurance policy to cover the rest of the trip (which involved a transatlantic flight and pre-cruise stay in Barcelona.)
As mentioned above, we'll be at Universal pre-cruise, and plan to move to the port the last night.
