We are in Pennsylvania, just north of Philadelphia. Just south of NY is New Jersey. PA is next to NJ on the western side.

If we drove, Orlando would be 18hrs (with no stops or overnight stays).

If we flew, Orlando is about 3hrs away. Generally if we fly we take an 8am flight and can be in the parks just after lunch! :thumbsup2

This trip we are taking the AutoTrain. We have a 3.5hr drive from PA to Lorton, VA (just south of Washington, DC...about 5 hours south of NYC if driving), then we board the train and it is scheduled to leave at 4pm, arriving in Sanford, FL at 9:30am the following morning. Sanford is just northwest of Port Canaveral.

We will be boarding the AutoTrain on Saturday, the 13th and arriving in Florida the morning of the 14th. The plan is to spend that entire day and overnight w/ the ILs (they live just south of WDW), then drive back up to Port Canaveral Monday morning. We will spend Monday at the Kennedy Space Center then check into Country Inn & Suites to stay overnight. I was thinking of having dinner at Fish Lips that evening...still not sure what we will end up doing.

When we drive, it is 25 hours (we only stop for gas and go to drive-thru sort of places for eating). When we fly, we take whatever is cheapest and it often is a later flight or super early (we prefer super early).

Taking the AutoTrain sounds fun! Can't wait to hear how it goes!

I just got new contacts today. Since my prescription changed they are a bit stronger and it's making it a little difficult to read my screeen. My DR said this would happen if she adjusted the distance too much.

My DD14 has an appointment in an hour to get fitted for contacts! She doesn't wear her glasses full time, but she should. I told her she'll love being able to see clearly again! Starting her with dailies. We'll see how she does because I sure can't help her put them in or take them out. I have a hard enough time with my own.

Bethany is 10yo and went for a contacts appointment earlier this summer. It didn't go well!

They won't write out the prescription for her until she can show them that she can put them in/take them out...and we aren't there yet.

So she will be wearing her glasses for the trip...with no sunglasses.

I knew it was early, but I thought I would try...if we hadn't tried, we wouldn't know she wasn't ready.

I've been wearing contacts for close to 30 years. LOVE THEM!

My DH is coded as S S S S (Special Security Screening ....) I can't remember what the last S is for. He ALWAYS gets extra screening. We once flew Southwest late at night and there were maybe 6-8 passengers onboard, he got picked. He thinks it's because he does a lot of international travel and back and forth from NY to Canada once a month. He was excited the last time he flew he had the full body image-my husband isn't right in the head sometimes :rotfl2:

I have no clue what my DH is coded but we can't even do online check in! :confused3 We have to wait until we get to the airport and they do whatever it is they do with his passport. I have no clue why he is on this list because we rarely fly!

That is a cute graphic-I haven't seen it before. I printed off a bunch of images for magnets over the weekend. Then I remembered that this time we have 2 cabins so I need to make extra sets of porthole ears too. Still need to work on those.

But first I really need to finish my FE gifts so I can mail them out tomorrow. Making/assembling part is done; now need to bag and tag :rotfl2:

My we have been chatty! Look how many pages we have been able to fill up!

I am going to have to get back to my house for a bit again. Today is cleaning day. The house was a mess today and I feel like I am running out of time to get things done at home. This morning I was able to get the kitchen and living room very clean and DH cleaned the bathrooms. I am going to skip the dining room today because that is our packing room and it is beyond help right now. Time to head to the upstairs rooms and work there a bit.

Major storms going on here today. Missing the sunshine of the weekend!

I know what you mean! I really need to get busy on my house! I have two rooms set up for packing. The front guest bedroom is for camp stuff that is a week away!:scared1: And the kids guest room is for the cruise stuff, which I have to have ready at the same time!!

Stay safe in those storms!!

Must be another Paul Anderson-pretty common name I would suppose. One of our friends, Bill Gallagher, has the same problem.

It would definitely take us more than the 18hrs. We have friend in Cincinnati that we drive out to visit a couple of times a year. The drive is about 10hrs and we tried to drive overnight ONCE. It was horrible.

I just can't drive during overnight drives. Either my contacts dry out making me more sleepy or my glasses have a glare on them (even w/ no glare coating) and that makes me sleepy. Better that we are able to take the AutoTrain! :thumbsup2

Another way to help get to 250 is to post some favorite cruise photos!!
Here is Donald Duck with my son Brian!

and then my daughter Catrherine

and a really nice graphic I found on the cruise graphics thread that I will probably make into a door magnet!

LOVE the photos! They are so fun!

Oh....can I use the graphic for a magnet as well??? I love it! I actually have a few graphics that I need to get going with but we have 2 staterooms and so I need more magnets!

We're arriving a week early so staying at our timeshare in Kissimmee. We'll head to the port on Monday for dinner, maybe Kelsies and staying at CI&S

Hopefully your flight arrives a little early, and that might make your decision on where to eat easier!

5 more pages to go...I have to leave now to take DD to DR so I'll check back and let you know how it went. Maybe I'll return to a closed Part 3.

NOOOOO! Say it isn't so! I am 43 and am not ready to be this old! :rotfl2:

Do you have to do anything about the cataracts?

I know, it's so scary!! The Dr asked how old I was, and when I told her she said I am young to be having cataracts. She said these particular ones are fast growing, so I will probably need surgery in the near future!:scared1:

I am not ready for this!!

Sitting here listening to the thunderstorms and smelling my dinner in the slow-cooker. Making pulled pork and it smells soooo good right now.

It is storming here as well. Hard rain and thunder.

Mmmmmm....maybe I should come to your house for dinner? :rotfl: I think we are going to make homemade pizzas.

We are leaving home 2pm on the wednesday and have a 3 hour drive to where Caleb is staying.

We will leave there at 6pm and have a 2 hr drive to the airport? We r staying at a hotel next to the airport.

In the morning we checkin at 8 am and our flight is at 11am. Our flight takes 9 hrs once through immigration we have a town car awaiting us!!! :flower3:

Oh my gosh!! Your kids are so cute!!! I also love that Dream photo!! Would you mind if I made a magnet out of it?

Finished putting all the FEs together this morning. Now, I just have to pack them up so I can ship them out. :cutie:
Me too!! Think it's OK to send tomorrow? Not too late?

I'll wait for the rest of group to arrive before we have our first Bahama Mama of the cruise.
Why?? :lmao:

My goal is not to stress myself out too much right away on the ship. We will see what that really works out for me! :lmao:
I think WDW will stress me out (running around in HOT with cranky kids makes mommy cranky), so the ship should be a welcome reprieve.

Starting her with dailies. We'll see how she does because I sure can't help her put them in or take them out. I have a hard enough time with my own.
LOVE my dailies. I get protein build up within 30 mins of having mine in, so I can't wear anything but dailies. Good luck to DD (& you).

Feel free to copy. I copied it from somewhere. I may add writing to it. I have a few very cute ones.

:rolleyes1

You only have one cabin listed in the FE list though. I didn't plan on two cabin doors! :guilty:

Hmm... and Gina has two as well? Maybe I need to make a few more?

Who else on FE List 1 has two cabins??

Hopefully she will be ready soon enough. I have a 21 year daughter who is still not ready! She has no desire to wear them, I love my contacts!
