We live in California, near Los Angeles. It is usually a 5-6 hour flight for us. However, we are driving (6 and a half hour drive) to Arizona to drop off DD and flying out of Phoenix. Our flight leaves at 5:00am (8:00 Florida time), stopping in Houston for an hour and arriving in Orlando at 2:00pm.

This is going to be a long journey for you and Randy!

We are excited to be flying this year and will be leaving Minnesota at 7:25 AM, have a layover in St. Louis and then will arrive in Orlando at 2:40 PM. From there, we will need to get our luggage, pick up the car (I might do this paperwork while DH gets the luggage). We will then head to port with a stop at the liquor store. When we get to the hotel, it will be time to kick back and visit with friends! :goodvibes

I'm in Connecticut, the state next to New York so we are North of Florida. Our flight is almost 3 hours but with travel time from home, airport 2 hour arrival, flight, luggage retrieval, rental car reservation it feels like it takes most of the day. We'll be landing at 6:45 pm this time so I'm debating if we find someplace to eat outside the airport or wait until we get checked into our place and then leave for dinner. We have an early wake up for a surprise for the kids on Monday so I don't want to be out too late (and hoping for no delays!)

I always feels like it takes most of the day as well. We have to arrive at the airport extra early when we fly because DH is on the "Do Not Fly" list! :lmao: Usually they just take his passport to some back room, we wait a bit and then they come out and send us on our merry way!

I just got new contacts today. Since my prescription changed they are a bit stronger and it's making it a little difficult to read my screeen. My DR said this would happen if she adjusted the distance too much.

My DD14 has an appointment in an hour to get fitted for contacts! She doesn't wear her glasses full time, but she should. I told her she'll love being able to see clearly again! Starting her with dailies. We'll see how she does because I sure can't help her put them in or take them out. I have a hard enough time with my own.

My DD started wearing contacts at 14. She was the same way - not always wearing her glasses all the time. Now she is pretty good about wearing one or the other. I was totally surprised at how easily she was able to get her contacts in when she first started. They did a really nice job teaching her about at the appointment.

Good luck to your DD! :thumbsup2

We will be coming in on Southwest and I rented the minivan from Alamo. We should be right behind you guys on Monday.

Can't wait to meet you guys as well! I think we will have a really nice evening hanging out by the pool with everyone Monday night!

I hope you DD enjoys having contacts!! I am so glad I am able to wear contacts!
I just went to the eye doctor last week!! I found out I have cataracts stating in my right eye!! What the heck?!?! I'm 44 years old!! How did that happen already??

We are in Pennsylvania, just north of Philadelphia. Just south of NY is New Jersey. PA is next to NJ on the western side.

If we drove, Orlando would be 18hrs (with no stops or overnight stays).

If we flew, Orlando is about 3hrs away. Generally if we fly we take an 8am flight and can be in the parks just after lunch! :thumbsup2

This trip we are taking the AutoTrain. We have a 3.5hr drive from PA to Lorton, VA (just south of Washington, DC...about 5 hours south of NYC if driving), then we board the train and it is scheduled to leave at 4pm, arriving in Sanford, FL at 9:30am the following morning. Sanford is just northwest of Port Canaveral.

We will be boarding the AutoTrain on Saturday, the 13th and arriving in Florida the morning of the 14th. The plan is to spend that entire day and overnight w/ the ILs (they live just south of WDW), then drive back up to Port Canaveral Monday morning. We will spend Monday at the Kennedy Space Center then check into Country Inn & Suites to stay overnight. I was thinking of having dinner at Fish Lips that evening...still not sure what we will end up doing.

My DH is coded as S S S S (Special Security Screening ....) I can't remember what the last S is for. He ALWAYS gets extra screening. We once flew Southwest late at night and there were maybe 6-8 passengers onboard, he got picked. He thinks it's because he does a lot of international travel and back and forth from NY to Canada once a month. He was excited the last time he flew he had the full body image-my husband isn't right in the head sometimes :rotfl2:

We are flying Continental, and renting from Avis!

I am so looking for to it!!

My we have been chatty! Look how many pages we have been able to fill up!

I am going to have to get back to my house for a bit again. Today is cleaning day. The house was a mess today and I feel like I am running out of time to get things done at home. This morning I was able to get the kitchen and living room very clean and DH cleaned the bathrooms. I am going to skip the dining room today because that is our packing room and it is beyond help right now. Time to head to the upstairs rooms and work there a bit.

Major storms going on here today. Missing the sunshine of the weekend!

NOOOOO! Say it isn't so! I am 43 and am not ready to be this old! :rotfl2:

Do you have to do anything about the cataracts?

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Poor guy!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Last time we flew, we had the full body image, and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be!!

Another way to help get to 250 is to post some favorite cruise photos!!
Here is Donald Duck with my son Brian!

Sitting here listening to the thunderstorms and smelling my dinner in the slow-cooker. Making pulled pork and it smells soooo good right now.
