Here's hoping that, now that our entire lawn is snow-free, that there will not be another snowflake to fall from the sky until 2012!!! :thumbsup2

Not anticipating that that two-story high snow pile in the shopping center parking lot is going to melt anytime soon though! :rotfl:

We are supposed to get some snow on Sunday but nothing to big compared to what we have gotten on past storms.

Hey Kristin--how much snow did you all get in CT? We got more in Boston than expected. 4-5" instead of 1-3".

I have a question for you about your recent tour of the Dream: I think I remember you said you were able to get the "day passes" through a TA-friend. Do you know if a cruise guest is able to get day passes for family members who aren't sailing with them? (i.e. the non-sailors could board with the cruise guests and just debark when they make that announcement)? My uncle and aunt (mom's sister) live NE of Orlando, and it would be awesome if they could come hang out with us on the Dream for the afternoon before we depart. Anyone have any ideas about who we might be able to ask about that possibility?

Thanks Laura!! He is still in the hospital.

Erika, he is a fighter! He has failing kidneys (been going to dialysis for 6 years) he also has COPD (Chronic lung disease) and he had a triple bypass 6 years ago. His hemoglobin level was very low, and they feel he is bleeding somewhere internally. They had to give him a blood transfusion through a dialysis machine. They have been running lots of test, but haven't figured out where he is losing blood. He is really out of it right now. He was on blood thinners, but they have taken him off of that because he also has bleeding around his brain.
His hemoglobin numbers are back up since the tranfusions, but we are not sure if they will stay that way. His left arm is extremely swollen, it's as big as his leg. He has perked up today, hopefully he will continue to do better.

Hey my friend,

Know we are thinking of you.....:grouphug::grouphug:

We did not get much snow at all. I think 1-3 inches. The kids went out and played in it and it was good for making a snow-man but not goodfor sledding in it. They were bummed out!!

I am not sure about people being able to board with you for the day if they are not sailing. There are many security procedures that we had to go through to get onto the ship that day. We did not get on from our TA, but our friend is a CM onboard. I know years ago my parents were able to get onboard a non disney cruise ship when my aunt and uncle went on a cruise just for the day. But that had to have been over 25 years ago. I know it is very limited as to how many "day" passengers are on the ship. We were the only four that day onboard. Maybe, ask your TA? Sorry, that I do not have more information for you. We kind of viewed it as a once in a lifetime opportunity..Wish that I could have given you more info.....Sorry!!

Candy, here's some pixiedust: that your dad will be up and around feeling better soon.
Kristin, hows Hopie's arm doing, I hope it's doing better.
We went to go see Bon Jovi last night in D.C. We took a limo there with family and friends and got to sit in a private suite. It was alot of fun, but I liked last years songs better. I'm nursing a smallish hangover and am really hopeing that the school doesn't call me to work today.:)

Hello everyone. Sounds like some of you have a pretty busy weekend. I too have a busy weekend, and it has also been a crazy week. My dad has been in the hospital since Thursday, and I'm not sure when they will be letting him go, so I have been there alot.
I am also in charge of a girl's camp that is the week before our cruise, so I have a planning meeting once a month, and tomorrow night is the night this month. I also have a meeting this morning with a friend who is assisting me. I have so much to do for this meeting tomorrow night, but I also need to go back to the hospital to see my dad.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

I pray your dad is on the road to recovery.

I did not do too much this weekend. Relaxed, went to Red Robin, a restaurant, and BJs, a wholesale store, on Saturday and then, church and work I brought home on Sunday. Now, it is off to work.

Have a good day everyone.

the kids are really psyched and doing their own countdown ... they keep seeing Dream promos and I'm not sure its sinking in that we are going on the Magic first (in april)

they keep talking about aquaduck, andy's room, pixie hollow, crush at the restaurant, etc...
:)

Our girls keep seeing the tv promotions about all of the fun to be had on the Dream too! They are getting really excited about the August cruise. Hope can't wait for the aquaduck while Skye is excited to see Pixie Hollow!:):):)

Watch out. The trips start to run together when you do too many cruises in a short period. Be careful or you'll find yourself forgetting what ship you're on!

We did three cruises in 9 months last year (12/09, 1/10, 9/10) and the first two were just 3 weeks apart, and they felt like they overlapped, except one was on the Magic and the other was on the Wonder. But at least we were dealing with two ships that were basically the same. You'll have the Dream/Magic/Dream to contend with this year!

Are you in Boston proper, or outside? We're outside Boston, so probably pretty close.

We are about 2 1/2 hours from Boston!!

We had a 90 minute delay this morning due to icing!! Love the delays!!:thumbsup2:)

Terri,

Her arm is fine thanks for asking and remembering..

Sounds, like you had a BLAST @ Bon Jovi..
What do you do in the school?

We're just outside the city limits (Brookline). This morning was disgusting--giant chunks of slush falling out of the sky!

I happened to look at the prices for our cruise--they've gone up over $1000 in the past few days!

Hey Laura - I am on my mobile WiFi right now and we are about 1 hour from home. I was totally sad to leave the beautiful sunny skies of Florida and the warm 85° temperatures. As I look outside the car windows, I see nothing but snow and my gauge is saying it is only in the 30s. I am not ready to be home. :confused3

We had a MAGICAL vacation with Jude and her family. I am proud of Jude, Paul and I for accomplishing the 1/2 marathon and I will share some photos on the DIS a bit later.

Some quick WDW thoughts - LOVED LeCellier and am sad that it is changing to a 2 table service credit meal. We had wonderful food and wonderful service. LOVED eating in the the castle for Breakfast. We were the first family in and had amazing service there as well. We had absolutely HORRIBLE service at Chef Mickey's. It is one of those places that we always feel we need to go to but this time around will make me think twice. I actually had the manager remove the added 18% tip (we were a party of 8 so they automatically did this at each meal). We had an INCREDIBLE meal at Ohana. Our food was great and our server was super attentive. Jude left a positive comment card at LeCellier and I left one at Ohana - both servers were just great and the food was wonderful as well.

The crowds seemed low in the morning but by the afternoon it was a bit crazy. We still managed to get on all the rides we wanted to and felt that it was a great trip.

Both families stayed at Pop Century. We thought it was fine but we will not stay there again for a while. This is simply because our last 2 visits have been there and if we have to stay at a value again next time, we will try out an All-Star. For the amount of time we spent in the room, it was more then fine.

Alright, time to sign off....only 45 minutes from home now. Feels good to be back in some ways but in others, I keep asking myself why we live here!
