Has anyone been to the Hilton in Nassau. I was thinking about the Blue Lagoon beach day but, this looks very nice. I read all of the reviews and haven't found anything bad. It's a short walk from the pier and the price includes a $30 food and alcohol voucher per adult.

Any thoughts?

Nice alternative to Atlantis. We may do this. Will do a little digging see what I can find out about it.

Thanks.
Mary

Latest I've heard is that they've been giving boarding numbers when you arrive, regardless of your check-in time (which is the way it should be IMO!). I want to get there early even if we get a later check-in time.

Agree!! We plan on arriving early as well.

This looks really interesting!

We were thinking of spending the morning on the ship to swim and ride the AquaDuck, have lunch onboard, then walk over to the pirate museum (thinking that everyone else will get off to see Nassau early and come back making the pool and AD more crowded later in the day).

I'll have to show the link to dh and discuss!

It is hard for me to rationalize spending $$ for beach day when we have 2 days at CC.

Decisions Decisions! :confused3

Found it!

For 5 Night Cruises departing on a Tuesday:
Night 1- Cruise Casual
Night 2- Cruise Casual
Night 3- Dress Up Night
Night 4- Pirate Night- Special Menu
Night 5- Cruise Casual- Special Menu (this is still a ? but a good possibility)

Dining Room Rotations (Restaurants repeat 1&5 3&4)

They do have availability for the day we are in Nassau. A 20% deposit is required - note that the deposit is not refundable unless the ship does not dock or the tour is cancelled due to weather. I am going to do some more research before deciding, but what appeals to me is the proximity to the ship.

The Hilton does look nice, but I am not really interested in a 3rd beach day either. I think we are just going to walk around, check out a few stores, go see the steps and forts maybe, just be casual.
I don't think dress up night quite equates to formal night on a 5 day cruise. I am not planning on a gown this cruise, and I think I may just do shirts and ties for my guys and leave the jackets at home. It's just too darn much too pack, and lug to univeral, then to CIS, then to the port then back home.

I know DGH isn't particularly looking forward to wearing a tie !! ;) He HAS to wear formal suits all year long due to his job ...
 Maybe I can talk him into wearing a grumpy tie though ... :confused3

WE too have to pack - unpack MANY times this trip ... and I don't want too many bags ............ to carry around various airports ...
BUT :headache: I'm NOT too good in packing light ... :lmao:

I am going to have to pack carefully as well. We will be moving a lot!

1 night on Auto Train
1 night @ ILs
1 night at Port Canaveral
5 nights on Dream
5 nights @ WL
1 night @ ILs
1 night on Auto Train

Ugh I don't even want to think of the logistics for planning all of that. I will definitely need to do laundry at some point as well!

I'm thinking semi-formal attire (shirt/tie, dress/pant suit)? Like you'd dress for Palo. Isn't there a 5 day this month? We'll have to wait to find out more details.

I guess that ... :rotfl2: ALL OUR CRUISE FELLOWS will arrive VERY EARLY !!!
:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

There will be a huge DIS crowd !!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

laura :cheer2:

There will be a lot of Diser's with green lanyards at the port early!!!!!!:thumbsup2:dance3::cheer2: I can't wait!!!!

I'm not planning on being to formal either!!
Maybe we can have a pre -cruise Dis meet at Universal (those of us going to Universal)

I think I'll put the deposit, it's close to the port. If anything, i'm rationalizing as a pool day. The pool looks beautiful, it's close to the port As long as I know that a few Disers will be there. :)

Looks good, but the only thing is with 2 CC days days it makes me think, do I really want another beach day, hmmmm well maybe LOL

I know me too, would just like to shop around Nassau, but then for $20 you get to go to a private beach with use of the pool with a bunch of DIS friends.
I said $20 because they give you $30 for food or drink.

Hmmm, I will be staying at the Four Points Universal on Sunday night, where will all you Universal goers be staying?

I'll be at Hard Rock and then the CI&S the night before the cruise!

The pool is what actually appeals to us. I have a suspicion that the Dream pools are going to be crowded & crowded pools are a place I'm not personally a huge fan of. DW is going to review it here too and we'll probably decide shortly.
