We too are fans of longer cruises but loved our Double-Dip last time and thought this was a way to check out the Dream!!

Speaking of that last double-dip.... we still need to figure a way to exorcise the hurricane jinx out of you <lol> Trust that you are having favorable weather on your current trip? Where are you guys headed for the 4th?

I totally agree Harry. I do not have a VERY good track record..

Weather, has been HOT and SUNNY!! A little rain last night when we went to bed. This afternoon it began to rain around dinner time and it is still a light rain right now. But other than that HOT and SUNNY!! I hope the weather is this good when we arrive @ VB!!

On the fourth we are going to hang out here at SSR all of the resorts are having special 4th of July activities. SSR, is having a good old fashioned 4th of July Party with pie-eating contests, decorate your own 4th of July cupcake, pool-party, cake walk contest, crafts for the kids, and then there are fire-works at DownTown that night!! Which, we will be able to see from SSR!!

I think you guys should buy one and invite us to visit. :thumbsup2

That extra income from teaching should allow you guys to qualify. No wonder Bruce is twisting your arm to teach, :rotfl2: he wants one of those homes also.

:rotfl::lmao:

I think tomorrow is going to be cooler, but then back up again by end of the week. We had another storm blow through yesterday. Everyone is still on edge around here after Thursday's tornado. I still can't believe one touched down so close to us. Without power I had no idea of the damage until the next day's newspaper.

Enjoy Disney!!

Hope you have your power back now!

We have done FE lists larger than this before...the answer can be as simple as Oriental Trading Company...inexpensive and plentiful and we just bring the shipping box intact...

Chuck:cool1:

Oriental Trading does have a lot of inexpensive items. I am working on my gifts already and am wondering if it is crazy at this point because of all the work my plan is going to take. This is why I need to start now! It might take me a whole year! :rotfl2:

I didn't mention to him that I was going to share this, but I did thank him for the ones he did for you. I figure he knows I'm going to share it with everyone. I don't think any of us will try to profit from them. We will all have matching doors!:)

It will help us pick out our group...just look for the matching doors! :rotfl:

You and I both are HUGE FANS of the Florida heat. We both live in the wrong places that is for sure!!

Totally! It was mid-80s here today and I was telling the kids that I wish it was at least 100!

Hi Everyone -

We will be joining you ... most likely. We are booked on this cruise. Booked it on our last cruise, the Memorial Day 2010 Double Dip on the Wonder. However there is a possibility we will push it out. We're fans of longer cruises (at least 7 nights) but we loved the Double Dip we were just on and are anxious to check out the Dream.

For now I would love to join in the fun. Wow - second thread! That's great. It's more fun with an active group.

This will be out 4th cruise on Disney. We live in MA - in between Boston and Providence RI. We are: me (Christine), dh (Tim), dd (Emily - 9), ds (Joey - 5).

Looking forward to getting to know everyone! Happy 4th!!

Welcome Christine (and family)!

Our family is another group that really wished for a longer cruise but we are happy to have the double dip and be on the Dream with all our friends!

Thanks!

My daughter is 9 now - turned 9 in April. So will be 10 when we cruise.

On the last Double Dip we didn't even get off the ship in Nassau. Had a wonderful day just hanging on the ship. And I suspect we will have a great day just hanging out on the new ship. LOVED it when we left Castaway Cay the first time and could say "see you in 2 days".

We are planning on staying on the ship in Nassau and enjoying all it has to offer.

Not sure if anyone saw this link:

Would love to live here some day!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Kristin - Maybe we could pool our money and buy one together?!? :lmao:

We attend the 4th activities at SSR last year - it was awesome. Keira won the limbo contest (she's so tiny!) and the pool party was very family oriented - lots of fun. Enjoy! :)

Did you watch the fire-works at DownTown??

Was it crowded the activities. Two years ago when we were here for the 4th they had it at Congress Park and they sold hamburgers, and hotdogs too!!

Well we are headed for Disney Vero for the weekend...

Best place to see fireworks in Disney, arguably, is just to the Grand Floridian side of the Polynesian...if you position yourself correctly near the edge of the lake, you have a clear view of fireworks in stereo...literally...you can see both the Magic Kingdom and lake fireworks, which are synchronized, at the same time...we did this a few years ago and it was amazing....

I did a double take when I read this post, Kristin. We're going to a picnic in Congress Park too - but in Saratoga Springs, NY. I guess I never thought about WDW incorporating all the names and places that are such a part of everyday life up here!

...when you and Jen find a house, I want to visit!!! And, OMG, Jen, you're scaring me with your FE plans. I better start now, too. :lmao:

Have a great day everyone!!!

Last year ("due to the economy") they didn't have the usual fireworks at DTD. We did fireworks on July 3 @ MK (they run their July 4th show on both nights). We had seats for the Dessert Party so it was perfect - no crowds, great view, etc.

Hi just found the 2nd thread
hows everyone doing ?

been busy here so not much time for Dis'in

I agree, we watched the new years eve fireworks from there and they were fantastic as well. We make it a point to watch fireworks from the poly beach at least once per trip.

We're jumping in....

We booked onboard during the Magic Thanksgiving cruise and are a Turkey Gang family. 13 1/2 months to go!

We just recently told the boys that they're going on this cruise and they are thrilled.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you. Hi Chuck & Lisa & Wendy. :wave2:

And, I don't know if kritter remembers me or not... she referred our travel agent to us. Thanks for the suggestion - she's been great.

Have a great holiday weekend - I plan on reading a lot of this thread to see what is going on. We will be doing the FE as well and have started to think of ideas -- but, knowing the procrastinator that I tend to be -- it'll be the beginning of next August when I get going. :sad2:

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!! A bonus day off here for us today as well!

Forecast high here today is 101 so other than my morning run (which was awful), the furthest I may go today is into the pool!

Jude - Between the website, the lanyards and everything else in life...if I don't start my FE gifts now, there is no way they will be ready.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July!!!:)

Hope you had a good one too!

The Poly beach is an ABSOLUTE MUST visit for us each trip. Although, we have taken to just staying there to be sure we can do so easily!

Hello and WELCOME! Glad to see another Turkey Gang family joining in! After you read through everything, if you want to send me a PM, I will let you know how to access our website so we can get your crew listed!

We just got home from the lake...went there for the 4th. It was wonderful to get away and enjoy some floating time in the lake as it was nice and warm. Only hard thing is - no Internet up there! Actually, that is probably a good thing. It just makes me feel like I miss out on so much when we are gone for several days though.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!
Jen

Is there a kids thread for this cruise my daughter who will be 15 at cruising time wants to chat with friends?
