August 15-24 trippers UNITE!

well I am somewhat on board or wish to be...since Disney did not offer a decent discount I am currently planning staying off site. However, hoping they do something to entice me by May before I have to commit. My plane tickets are bought so my dates are set 8/17-8/27. The only question is will it be on site or off site.

I thought I was missing something; I am also planning on a Aug. 15-22 trip and could not understand why this week was skipped with all of the discounts.

We are going for FD, but DH said he would really like to go 5 days earlier. Not having a discount would mean that we would definitely stay offsite. We booked offsite last week hoping for a late Easter discount and it never came. Off site wasn't that bad (we went from parking lot of hotel to parking lot of HS in exactly 16 minutes) but boy did we miss EMH!

Im hoping that when this current free dining rate expires on May 18th that they issue another discount on May 19th that covers August 15th-29th. Here's hoping.

OMG That would be so fantastic!! Our dates are 8/20-25 and we cannot move to another week. I'll be paying close attention to what's heard on this thread!

We are hoping for a discount for this week too! Just found out DH may have to go to Tampa on business that week so naturally I thought the kids and I would head to WDW. I need to stay on property because I rely on Disney transportation and was disapointed to see that the room discounts ended the day before our trip and the free dining starts the week after!!!

We are going during that time too. Hubby has a convention, so we decided to go down with him and spend our time at Disney. All I got so far was a 10% off rack rate at AOA. We will be there at the tail end of free dining, but are not eligible because we arrive before it starts. I am not going to switch to another hotel mid trip just to get it either. That sounds like a lot of work to move all 6 of us to another hotel in the middle of vacation!! Oh well. I keep hoping I can book a bounce back offer during that time, considering we will be there this May. Fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone. Maybe they will come out with a larger discount during that week!!

I got the 10% off rack rate on the AoA suites, plus I found a AAA coupon online that gave me another $200 off for this trip. Not FD, but better than nothing. My AAA agent said that if FD opens up for this week, or if a better room rate comes out, she can switch me to the better one. The $200 coupon I keep regardless, so I'm hoping that Disney opens up more discounts for our week.

We arrive on the 15th and leave on the 26th! I am a teacher too so my travel times are limited. I was hoping that by going in August we would avoid some of the crowds! I'm just nervous that Disney knows something we don't and that week is going to be packed! I can deal with the heat, but heat and crowds will be miserable!!

We are staying at the AoA resort so I knew when I booked that I would be less likely to get a discount but it still would be nice Heres hoping!!

I called reservations and checked the AAA price....saved me about $165, well worth the cost of joining ($58)! Plus some additional discounts and coverage for the year!

Count me in on the room only code seeker. Our dates are Aug. 20-30. We eat breakfast in room and "snack" mostly when its so hot, so free dining doesnt make sense to us.

Aug 15 - 26th. On of the downsides to being a teacher is the limited time to take a family vacation.

Hopefully Disney has something special in store for those two weeks.

We have the exact same dates!! And we are both teachers!

We are staying at POFQ.

Its ashame, the students and my kids dont start school until after labor day. But those dreaded teacher prep days start the week before. Without those we could have worked out Free Dining.

Dont know if its been posted or not, but there are discounts for that week.. however they were offered as bounce-back discounts. Like I have free dining starting August 17th that I booked when I was down in September. Im pretty sure the same thing happened last year too.. they had a week with no offers to the general public during the same time frame.

Im crossing my fingers for you guys!!!
