We are heading to Disney in August. I have just done a "resort sweep" on the reservation system, and with the exception of the Contemporary, there is a lot of options for the remaining resorts. I thought this would be a busy time??:scratchin

We often visit during that time. The parks are definitely less crowded, but it is hot out. Schools in Florida and other parts of the South tend to start in August whereas in the North, we are pretty strict about not starting until after Labor Day. I think the earlier back-to-school date makes it a less popular vacation time, not to mention the heat and humidity.

Amen. Do not expect empty parks but DO expect heat and plenty of it.

For us, we went the last week of August in '08 and to us, who usually go in the first week or two of December, the parks seemed packed, and the heat was horrendous. Of course the last trip in December of '10, two days were in the 30's! Luckily we came from NY so we had our coats and gloves. Trying late September this year...have always wanted to do MNSSHP.
