August 13th at Universal?

hi,

I've just been looking the park hours for our uocoming trip and according to the official site, it looks like Universal Studios closes at 6pm on August 13th. Does anyone know if this is just a mistype or if the park is actually closing at that time for an event of some sort?

I went onto the Universal app and noticed it does in fact say 6pm on August 13th. I'm assuming there must be an event, or something going on that night, as it seems like a drastic drop from the day before having the park close to 10pm and suddenly to 6pm. However, Islands of Adventure that same day is remaining open until 10pm.

However, I do want to note that after that date, the times for both parks do drop from the normal 10pm, to 8:30 - 9pm, which is a sign that it will be the time that schools are starting to go back in session. However, 6pm seems drastic considering it's a Saturday, which makes me believe something will be going on, especially since it's only one of the parks.

Thank you both - I too thought it was strange, but I expect there is some event going on - it might well give us an enforced rest, and hopefully we will finally then get to try the minature golf courses at City walk!!

I had wanted to start @ U that date for upcoming trip but noticed the earlier closing, decided to skip it, figuring there might be a large convention that bought out the park = too crowded overall for my tastes in general.

Sadly it's right in the middle of our UO stay at Portofino & it's also my sons birthday that day & ive promised him a Lard Lads donut for his birthday breakfast!, so we will definitely be there in the morning, so hopefully anything happening there in the evening, won't effect crowds until the afternoon!

I suggest that you go search on Google for a calendar that estimates over all how busy the parks will be. I'd search for it myself and post it, but I do not know if I can post it on here.
