August 12, 2011 Disney Dream Meet Link Here

Hi everyone! I'm still here checking the boards frequently, but haven't posted much. We are very excited - going to DW before the cruise so I think we are at the 101 days until vacation point!

Andrea - looks like we have cabins right next to each other - we should introduce the kids - they will love that!

I am hoping we can do the Stingray Adventure on CC - would love to get an early appt, hope it doesn't fill up too quickly as this is our first cruise so we won't be able to register until 5/29. We'll stay on the boat in Nassau unless the kids talk me into walking them through the straw market - I think that might be fun for them to see.

I am excited to start working on FE gifts - I'm not real crafty so we'll see what I come up with. I think the kids are really going to love that - I haven't told them about it at all - might be just a fun surprise.

Hi Lori - Yes, I saw that we're right next to each other and our kids are pretty close in age too. I see you're from Ohio - which part? I grew up in Cincinnati and my mother still lives there - she'll be coming with us on the cruise. I also lived in Columbus for about 10 years before moving out to DC.

I'm thinking about the stingray encounter also, but I'm only going to pick one activity. I want plenty of time to just relax too!

Andrea

Hi everyone! Glad to see more postings today too! We are in cabins 8051 and 8053, and it doesn't look like anyone is that close to us.

We would be interested in getting together for a quick meet if anyone is interested especially to introduce the kids so they can have a familiar face when they get to the clubs! :goodvibes

When we went on the Dream in March, we stayed on in Nassau. I have to say that A LOT of people stayed on too... the ship was very crowded. I don't know if a 4 day will be the same a the 3 day because of the sea day, but I think we are going to go to the Sheraton for the day. We have not done this before, but I heard that going there for the day is supposed to be nice. This would give the kids a chance to swim in their pools and go to the beach... Last time we were in Nassau with the kids we went to Atlantis - that was a lot of fun, but it was very expensive so we are not going to do that again.

On CC, I think we are just planning on snorkeling and hanging out on the beach.... I know the kids want to go to Pelican Plunge!

All I know is that I can't wait to go!! :woohoo:

Have to share something with you all. My oldest DD is not sure that she is going to be able to go on the aquaduck (kept it a secret when Disney changed the rules that she can ride with an adult) since she is onlyu 44". She is eating her fruits and veggies and protein more than normal and whenever she gives us a hard time, I gently remind her she needs to grow to go on the aquaduck and she starts eating them. LOL! If only she knew she is going on it regaurdless!

Hmmm... I didn't realize some of the hotels in Nassau offered day passes. I looked around and there's also a Hilton that says it's within walking distance of the terminal. I also didn't realize there were such nice tours of the island offered. That might be fun too. I'm thinking about getting off the ship and enjoying Nassau now.....

Hi all!
Checked the Disney Cruise line site today and...
we have been allocated room 6514 - not an upgrade but just what we wanted.
So excited - we should be able to book port adventures in the next few weeks!

Our cruise is looking pretty full!

It looks like you're not too far from us (6540) and my DS is about the same age as yours!

Hi all,

Just purchased my park tickets. If anyone has not yet bought there tickets, check out the Disney Y.E.S. open enrollment. I signed my girls up for a 3 hour class on 08/17 which entitles us to greatly reduced tickets! They are taking an Ocean Discoveries class and they are very excited. This saved us approximately $500 for park tickets. Just wanted everyone that may be interested to know! Can't wait for our cruise, its getting real now!!

Hi mominva!
Yep not too far away.
It'll be good to get together and get the kids introduced!

We haven't purchased park tickets yet - thanks for the tip tdmatthews! Will look into it.

OK! So who is gonna be paid by the end of the week? If so are you booking PALO's and on which night. I guess its just hit or miss if we pick a night and it happens to fall on the night of Animators Palate. I think I am gonna book the brunch first and try to book a dinner once on board the ship.

Have we decided on when and we will have a meet and greet?

DH is paying us in full tonight. We have not decided if we are going to do Palo again since we did it last time. I need to talk to hubby about that.

I do know that I will be partaking in the wonderful head and scalp massage I got last time on the Magic. It was fabulous and I felt soo relaxed afterwards! Not bad for $25! I did have them wash and blowdry for more $$$ so I could go back to the stateroom ready for dinner and not get out of my relaxed mode. But still, one of the best spa treatments ever!

I think if I had a choice, I would book brunch first since that will sell out quickly (if it already has not since we know Platinum members could have purchased all of the spots).

No, I don't think there is a meet and greet set up. The only thing in the group is the FE so far that I am collecting info on. Less than 100 days to go and we will all be on the Dream!

OK I am paid in full!!! YEAH!!

I think I am gonna book the brunch. It was really delish last time and since its the day at sea I don't think I will miss anything.

Anyone ever done the wine tasting? I did it a long time ago and I am thinking about doing it again this time. It was really fun.

Yes, we have done the wine tasting and it is usually a lot of fun! Not sure if we are going to do it this time around. We actually found a delicious wine last time we drank at Palo and it has become a favorite in our house.

I am starting to work on our magnets for our doors. Anyone want to "name" our group? Last time we cruised, our group was the Picaroon Pirates.

Anyone else interested in doing the fish extender? Currently we only have 7 in the group. Also, is there anyone else traveling with a 6yo girl? I would love to introduce my oldest DD to another girl her age in case her little sister is unable to go into the kids club. Her sister will be three at the end of September and we are currently potty training her, so I am hoping the kids club will let her go in with her big sister, but I want to have backup in case the age group is fully booked.

Less than 100 days to go!

My daughter's 9, so she's a little older than yours, but she likes playing with younger kids. In our neighborhood, she's usually the youngest, so she likes being the oldest in the play group once in a while. I'd really like to introduce some of the kids so they have a familiar face in the kids club.

Anyone else see this post from Dreams Unlimited on Facebook?

Disney will perform a reservation-system update beginning at 5 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 13, 2011, and lasting through Sunday, May 15. During this time, we will not be able to process vacation-package reservations for the Walt Disney World® Resort. If you are interested in pricing a Disney vacation please submit your quote before the weekend

I hope this does not interfere with our ability to book Palo and child care this weekend. Anyone know? I might post this question on the main forum.

mominva -Thanks!! My DD loves to play with older girls. :goodvibes

That would really STINK if it did. I was planning on staying up until midnight to get my boarding pass number and book PALO.

Let me know if you hear anything on the main forum.

Apparently, it is two different reservation systems, so it should work this weekend. I will be staying up until midnight as well!

So, you can get your boarding pass number tonight? I thought that was given at the port.

No, its tonight. I have read this on the boards and a CM told me on the phone to be online to get your boarding pass time. I think even if you get there earlier than your time they still let you board but I think because of the size of the ship they are trying to determine when everyone plans on being at the port and giving boarding numbers accordingly.

Good to know, thanks! We don't usually arrive at the port until around noon since we drive in from the Ft Lauderdale area that morning. Will check with hubby to see if he wants to come in earlier than normal or wait until the crowds are down.

"See" some of you tonight when we are booking our trip!
