Did or have you booked your stingray excursion yet? Let me know I may try to book the same one, are you going to book with Captn Marvin or go with DCL?

How many of us can start Booking @ 3:00am tomorrow April 29th?

Beckie

Beckie, I still havent decided about the Grand Cayman stingray one yet.....I guess I should get busy, huh? lol.....we only have the Dolphin excursion planned so far (and booked). We decided to keep the 3pm time and play it by ear. Another poster told me it is a 15 min cab ride back to the tenders so we should be ok as far as getting back on the boat.

If I do the Stingray..it will probably be thru Disney.

My son makes his first communion tomorrow so I have been buy getting ready for that. It seems like: get through one thing at a time right now! ;)

I cant book anything as early as you past cruisers though so I still have time! :teeth:

No DVC here but that's on my list for next! ;)

Jeff
Oh I understand how that is. Don't worry we should still be able to meet up and say Hi. So far Miss Emily is the youngest and the only one staying at the Flounders Club. I hope she will enjoy her time there but like you said "Ya never know."

Beckie

PS: Love the name Emily...it's my first name...Emily Rebecca (Beckie is my nickname)
:thumbsup2

We are among the DVC folks on this cruise - BCV is our home resort and we are getting the add-on itchies right now. ;)

Jeff

I understand once you get the add-on fever it's hard not to call your guide. After staying at the Boardwalk Villas during Food and Wine year before last I just had to buy at BWV. Now Terry and I visit every October one of the best times to visit WDW.

whenever school has a short break to make for a long weekend, we stretch it by a day to make it a six night trip>

OK I decided to go ahead and make our reservations for August 11 2006 @ The Radisson. Also scheduled our shuttel time for 10:00am. Printed a discount coupon for Grills, so we are ready for before the cruise.

I can book at 3am tomorrow!!! Not sure if I will get up at that time or just wait until I get up. I will see what I feel like. Anyone else here in a suite and can book tommorrow?

We are DVC members also!! Home resort is Boradwalk Villas! We bought in 1998, added-on in 2000, and added-on again in 2002. We feel like(at least I do) it's time to add-on again. It's really hard to do when the prices are so high though. Our first points were $62.75 a point. Now they are $98 a point.

so far I haven't been able to find a clear answer on this one so I'm hoping those cruising with me may know. I asked in cruise chat and got conflicting info so I posted to the main board, but thought i'd put it here too.

I own my own communications consulting business and thus need to be able to do a daily check of email and maybe even do some work during the cruise. From what I am reading on the DIS info section, it appears that there is an unlmited internet package -- but NOT for wireless users. Is that correct? And if so, how do I access the internet if I want an unlimited plan.

Do I have to use computers in some place on the ship (if so where are they?) or can I just plug my laptop in somewhere with an ethernet cord (and if so is it provided or do i bring my own?). Because I may need a lot of time, I want to make sure I do get an unlmited plan. But I sure would rather do it via my laptop than a computer terminal in some public room.

Can someone give me some clarity here?

Thanks in advance!

Jeff - I am not real clear about the wireless so hopefully you will get answers on your thread. If not let me know, I might know someone on the boards that you can send a PM to and they might be able to help you. The unlimited package(at least the regular one) that DCL sells is for use of their computer terminals. The terminals are in Cove Cafe and just to the side of the Promenade Lounge. They can get busy at times but I can generally find one open in the Cove Cafe.

Like I said, there might be a package for wireless but I am not sure about that.

Jeff - I did a search for "wireless" and found this on one of the threads. I will go back and copy the link also so you can look at the thread. But if you do a search you might find so more information.

Here's the info from the "DCL Main" link at the top of the cruise boards page.

I saw those rates and just couldn't imagine why there wasn't an unlimited package for wireless..but I guess it is so. Seems to be confirmed all around. that's a bit of a bummer, but I'm doing my math and thinking that I should be able to get away with the 250 minute wireless plan so long as nothing urgent happens back at the office...

Thanks again!

Terrible huh? Tim (the hubby and financial backer for all things Disney) is a CTO, it was a nightmare. He used the terminals at the internet cafe (on the Wonder, they did not have wi-fi at the time) but it was spotty service. There was a whole day when they where completely down. We didn't have too much trouble finding an empty spot. One of his VP's actually called him using the land/sea line, so if you think you are uncontactable, I assure you you aren't. The one downside of having to use terminals is that he can't access his servers and stuff like that, he has to talk other people through it. The day we disembarked, he spent the day in the lobby of our hotel (Contemporary) as our room was not ready, using their wi-fi. While I am sure there are plenty of people that are oh you are on vacation, leave me alone, it's just not a reality for us. I wouldn't get to go to Disney is he wasn't earning the big bucks now would I? I hate that he is always at the beck and call, but it's kind of a gotta suck it up thing.

We're probably going to take the laptop, but try the unlimited package for the terminals (they have them in Cove Cafe too) If he has an emergency, well he will be the guy on the deck by Mickey's pool with the laptop, looking a little less slightly relaxed as those around...but at least he will have access to beer!! Fingers crossed, but August is usually not his busy time..

Not in a suite, but I have a package where I can book this morning too. Had a really horrible day, so I thought I might as well stay up until 3am, like the day could get any worse (nothing serious, just the normal family drama)

Being the eternal optimist that I am (oh, so not) I imagine everything I want I wont get, hence the how worse can it get attitude....gosh I so need this vacation!! The cat keep giving me sly glances, along the lines of, shouldn't you be in bed by now? Ben was up and hyper at 5am this morning...... :furious: No apparent reason..oh no wait, Snoopy (his soft toy) was keeping him up with his barking....okaaaay. Cheers for that Snoops.

No DVC for us. Thought about it, but never quite got the bug, maybe one day. I'd have to use the points for hotel stay as if I was presented with cooking facilities Tim would expect me to cook..err, hello vacation??!!

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely weekend, I'm off to raid the fridge for caffeine..must stay up a few more hours...

WAKE UP !

ALMOST TIME TO BOOK !

Hope you where able to book everything you wanted.

Well, I didn't stay up or get up at 3am but I just got done doing all my booking. Was able to get what I wanted, but I don't like the fact that they only let you book up to 4 people in Palo now. With my parents and DH's parents we are a party of 6. Also, the parents are not in a suite so I cannot book them until May 14th. It's a good thing they are Castaway Club members or this could really get confusing. :confused3

Now on Mother's Day I will need to get up at 3am to make their reservations so that hopefully they will be at the same time as ours. This is kind of crazy.

We have soccer today and then other things to do, so I hope everyone has a great day.

OK, I guess I didnt realize this...but is it really necessary to get up at 3am to book? :confused3 And will anything be left for me to book since I cant book early like suite/past cruisers? I thought you were able to book on the ship also?

I have decided that I am not really going to stress out about this. I have my main excursion that I want on Cozumel and the Beckie's brunch meet so if I get Palo for dinner ..great...if not...Im not going to worry about it much.

at least that's my story now.....that will probably change come Mother's Day at 3am! ;) :rotfl: :rotfl2:

and there is NO WAY I am telling my husband that he can bring his laptop.....IM happy to be dragging him AWAY from work for a change! :teeth:

Yes , you can still book on the ship !!!
we DID so on previous cruises without any problem !!!
If you are a bit "flexible" on times :goodvibes you can also get a table at Palo: we sometimes just show up at Palo's entrance enquiring for a table ... and often they have one !!!

The ONLY "activity" you should "book" EARLY is ... to sign your kids into their clubs; I know someone could NOT get "place" for the kids later in the cruise. So maybe you'd want to visit there as soon as you board the ship ... that is if your kids :) wish to partecipate .
